The best restaurants serving British food in South East

I've already reviewed Floral Cafe on Tripadvisor, but it's such a wonderful place that I thought I'd drop a review here too. I discovered Floral Cafe when my partner displayed her art here. The art switches up every month, meaning you're likely to see something new every time you go. It's a great idea, bringing colour and variety to the decor while supporting independent artists too. Having seen the breakfast on the menu, I made sure I went along to the cafe after Worthing parkrun one day and I was blown away. Definitely one of the best full english breakfasts I've ever had out and about. Since then, I've started taking friends and family there after the run so they could try the food for themselves. Rachel - the owner - and her team have done a fantastic job in creating a homely, convivial atmosphere here. One I highly recommend.

Best tasting home cooked food I've ever had at a cafe! The man here cooks everything from fresh, he prepares the, bacon and onion puddings and suet puddings by hand, a long process and secret recipe he tells me, as well as other meals he prepares by hand in advance. Pardon the pun, but the proof is in the pudding (steak n kidney my fave), if you want mass produced tastless food, go to the kebab shop or chippy, if you want good food at a good price and something tasty on your palet, the galley is your watering hole!

Came to petersfield last week to celebrate a friends birthday at Restaurant Six, Service was incredible and extremely helpful, Had the fillet steak and it did not disappoint, all food was so amazing and we will be returning in the future.

The sausage roll had no flavour, but the cake was nice.

I love going here because there are friendly staff who are always happy to help when you need it. It's free to enter but there is cakes and drinks and sweets you can but while your there.

We stayed here the night of our wedding at Lains Barn and it’s was beautiful!! Lovely rooms and great breakfast in the morning. Really rounded off the weekend for us.

Stopped in for lunch. Excellent food and great service. It's a little off the beaten track, but well worth the effort

Our 1st time in this stylish restaurant was disappointing because the dish was bland, became simply rice with seafood rather than a paella. I didn't taste any sofrito which gives the rice its rustic taste. And the variety of seafood was poor "because at the moment is not enough fresh seafood available" so Robert Thompson! Why is "PAELLA" ON THE MENU if there is not "enough" fresh seafood available in August?? The creative presentation of the starter, main and desert was non existent which was another disappointment. But we try a 2nd time certainly something British. Staff was polite and had a smile on their face.

While beer continues to be good, on the last couple of visits the quality of the food has dipped. Today I had the chicken Caesar salad - not easy to get wrong but the chicken was badly overcooked. I told one of the staff who said ‘sooty about that’ but that was the end of it!

This is a great place. Lovely friendly pub with great atmosphere quality food and a wonderful place to spend and few hours or evening. Lots of music, open mic's and music clubs. Something for everyone.

Another amazing meal at The Mill Botley, service amazing, great helpful and attentive staff along with fantastic food and great value for top class fine dining. I cannot recommend this place enough and we are so lucky to have it on our doorstep. The waterfall and steam room are just a true delight that adds ambience to a fine dining experience.

The MOST epic cake! So well tailored to me before my travels - I cannot get over the details of the caravan and animals!! I am obsessed and was pleasantly surprised by my family with this beauty! Thank you ever so much!! X

A far cry from a truckers café, this local coffee house offers a cosy seating area with a modest menu. The interior is well decorated. There is a standard selection of hot items with a range of cakes that also cater to vegan requirements. Parking is easily found on the road, or it's a walk away for local residents who tend to come here and socialise in small groups. Prices are what you would expect.

Once again what can I say ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food was amazing new menu was fantastic Staff very helpful and very friendly and happy to help we have had a wonderful day With family we have not seen for a long time and they said that was the best food they have had in a long time Thank you all at The Hanger ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
