The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Second time to experience James's food and did not disappoint. We stayed in the apartment above the restaurant and that didn't disappoint either. All the staff were excellent and James gave his time to explain all courses at each stage . The breakfast left in the apartment was 👌spot on . Many thanks.

Went for a roast dinner today and wow. The beef was absolutely delicious and everything looked so good on the plate. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Free parking was a huge bonus. Definitely coming back here again soon!

Delicious breakfast snacks and tasty local coffee

We popped in yesterday the 28th March 2025 and the two youngsters were an absolute delight to talk to. The ice cream superb but was mad even more special by these leovely youngsters. Thank you

Greeted with the grumpiest young woman behind the bar really didn't wanna be there and just made us feel very unwelcome. Then served by an older lady who again was very grumpy really didn't feel welcome if you wanna feel like you shouldn't be somewhere visit this pub

Just lovely, lady who was serving was super efficient and smiley, brunch was excellent very fresh and hot , I had the bubble and squeak with poached egg and a chai latte . Would definitely recommend, booking may be necessary as busy times

Not often that a pubs food is as good as it looks on Trip advisor, and tastes even better than anticipated! We booked for a large group for Sunday lunch quite last minute and were located in the very cool (but warm) garden tent and looked after very well by the team.

Bowley's is truly an outstanding restaurant situated in a lovely country pub, run by a team who clearly love what they do. Locally sourced, fresh ingredients turned into mouth watering dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff's attention to detail is second to none and they catered for our Dietary requirements with ease and professionalism at short notice. My husband really enjoyed his Birthday here. I can't recommend Bowley's enough and we'll be back sooner than later.

Fabulous coffee and pecan nut cake and tea this afternoon from this lovely little place literally on the beach. Joy! Highly recommend.

I often come here for morning coffee with friends and we are normally very happy with the coffee, but the last couple of times we have all agreed that the coffee is not as good as it used to be. Is it a different kind of coffee or do you have a new Barista? It is always very busy when we come so perhaps the coffee making has just been a bit rushed? I wonder whether anyone else has said anything. Hope it was just a blip as we love everything else about the cafe.

Grace and Matt were both friendly and accommodating. Both the food and the service is 10/10. Highly recommend!

Love the food, Sunday carvery is something worth travelling here for, and the staff are lovely. 100% would recommend. Also, consider this place for event bookings. It's a huge space with a big beer garden and car park.
