Blake's Kitchen in West Oxfordshire

Absolutely wonderful experience, would give it 6 stars if I could. Rolled up solo on my motorbike after spotting it on Shed and Buried or similar. Was blown away by an incredible three cheese toastie on fresh sourdough with shoestring crisps and lovely crunchy fresh coleslaw. Could tell the chef really cared. I'll be back to sample the amazing looking cakes. Great spot and biker friendly.

Avoid the brownies otherwise all good.

We stopped off after a walk and had the most delicious lunch. The salads in their goodness bowls are as good as Ottolenghi. Excellent coffee, delicious cinnamon bun, great staff! What a place!

Brilliant breakfast in a lively friendly atmosphere. Everything was made from scratch that can be , beautifully presented. Left with a smile and a slice of incredibly tasty Lardy cake.

Blake’s Kitchen is always packed full of people either sitting or queuing to get a table. The food, cakes, bread are fantastic every time. I had avocado on sour dough toast with two poached eggs and bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked and runny. My wife had the same without the avocado and was amazing also. Coffees are lively are a hot. The cinnamon buns are to die for. All in all a fantastic visit. All staff are lovely and welcoming.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Have been here a few times now with my wife. Love the pulled pork sandwich and poached eggs on sourdough toast. Always quick service and delicious food! Plus great coffee too :)

Went to Blake’s for the first time the other week. Food was great, worth the price! Bakery items were also amazing! Is very busy in there, and not a lot of room nor parking! Can also takeaway food!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Blake's Kitchen and I must say that it's incredible! The ambiance was cozy and intimate and the dishes were delightful. The menu offerings are diverse and their signature dishes are exceptional. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure to make it an enjoyable experience for all. This is an awesome bakery that has something for everyone ..the plant based , gluten free brownie was a delight snd the nourishing bowl was fantastic…plant based without the yogurt . My daughter got the cinnamon roll and loved it.

Great little cafe with delicious cakes. Highly rate the cakes from this little cafe, particularly the brownie, rocky road, blondies - all have been delicious, maybe a bit rich for some tastes but certainly a 5 star for me

Love this place anyway, but turned up on spec with 12 family members. The staff were completely unfazed, food was as awesome as always and all turned up quickly, at the same time and beautifully presented. Simply brilliant!

I am a regular at Blake's kitchen and the food/cakes/bakes/bread are fantastic every time. Staff are always lovely no matter how busy and food is promptly served. It is a popular cyclist spot so it can get very busy. The only thing I would say they could do differently is vegetarian options, their veggie breakfast has halloumi and avocado instead of sausage/bacon but a veggie sausage would be nice. Cinnamon buns are amazing.

Amazing small town cafe with post office. Excellent bakery with fresh bread made on site. Clean environment and covered outdoor eating area. Friendly staff and service with a smile - just as we found everywhere during our cycling tour of the Cotswold.

Stopped here for breakfast on our way to our campsite at ye olde swan. Had the best full breakfast I’ve had for a long time and my wife had the French toast with compote which was lovely too. Friendly staff and great service . Took some cakes too when we left which were very tasty. Small car park but the road outside you can park on but a bit of a busy road.

Visited after being recommended to by a friend. Maybe the best cinnamon bun I've ever eaten: freshly baked, supple as a bow crafted by the finest bowyer, properly portioned and proportioned as per the golden ratio. This fluffy, light, yet rich bun will send your tastebuds to nirvana leaving your, certainly not dry, mouth craving the next bite. Bon appetit! Good coffee too.

Blake's breakfast - I really recommend to try

Never been here however my mother bought home a large white sourdough from the weekend and it’s probably the best sourdough I’ve tasted in the UK. Open crumb inside, crispy outside and the sour taste is 👌 *chefs kiss*. This truly is the bread of dreams. We’re set to leave our humble abode here in Essex to travel the length and breadth of the UK and Blake’s is on the list of places to visit. Watch out for our big boy camper (Vince) rocking up in Bampton sharpish! Take a bow Blake’s Kitchen your bread rocked my world!

I'm not a 5/5 reviewer but it's hard to think how this place could improve. The light meals are phenomenally tasty, the hot chocolate was exceptional and the staff are friendly and professional. It's pricy but worth it and always busy.

This place is very popular, even in the rain and doesn't take long to see why. We were indoors but plenty of coverage outside. I had a beef toasty which had plenty of beef and flavour. coffee was good to. Despite being so busy, staff are calm and welcoming.

Visited here recently after some colleagues recommended it. After finding out dogs are allowed we made the trip over for late lunch/brunch. One coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast bap and pulled pork burger and it’s safe to say we will be revisiting. There’s a small car park right next to the building (which doubles up as the post office) and then lots of cars parked along the street. There didn’t appear to be anyone struggling to get parked. They do baked goods as well with a loyalty card for cinnamon buns. One for the road and to have later as we were full. Would recommend. We will revisit and will be recommending to friends.

Blakes is a fabulous place. The food is amazing, in particular the scotch eggs and the sour dough are popular in our family. There is lots of seating options- you can choose to sit inside, outside under cover and outside with a sun umbrella. Take your table number when you order so they can find you. Also a great place to get takeaway. The goodness bowls are incredible. The cakes are huge and tasty and it is all at a decent price.

They do the best cinnamon buns in the UK - which I appreciate could sound like an exaggeration - but I’ve not found better! The cafe is nice as well, serving a range of other yummy items. They also sell flour from a local mill which is great encouragement for home baking. I look forward to coming here when I’m in the area!

Stopped off during a drive for a quick snack and honestly I was salivating at the front counter with all the cakes and food being served. I had the breakfast muffin and a latte. I now want no other breakfast muffin apart from this one... This has caused me great sorrow as I am an hour away and wish I could just walk down for some bread or a coffee Would absolutely recommend to anyone going past to stop and grab a bite!!

We went here to buy a load of stuff for the family, cinnamon rolls, a sausage roll and a salt focaccia and some cakes. Full disclosure, we (2 of us) ate a full focaccia a cinnamon roll, a sausage roll and a biscoff cake in the car outside, such were their quality. I'm not proud of myself, but I'd do it again.

Great food, spacious tables, good service .. all quite special. The only downside for us today was a couple of customers had yappy dogs with them barking throughout our meal 😞

Best kept secret in Oxfordshire?? BBQ pulled pork brioche with coleslaw and paprika shoestring crisps was heaven. Coffee is strong and smooth. The cake/brownie/bun selection is more than adequate (!) Staff are friendly, superslick, and deserve your tips! ☺️ We had a post-prandial round Buscot Park afterwards, but Clanfield is equally lovely. If you're cycling through on a tour or a ride then you *absolutely* must make a stop here. Loads of outside seating to keep an eye on your bikes and it's 20mph through the village so tranquil too.

Having organised a rendezvous over lunch with another family, we all looked forward to eating at Blakes today, especially after having heard such good reviews! Upon our arrival (12:30), we discovered that there was a struggle for parking. Thankfully, there is a free car park at the far end of the village, just a few hundred metres down the road and well within walking distance, with a footpath all the way. Understandably, it was fairly busy being the peak of lunchtime on a Saturday and we borrowed a couple of chairs for our makeshift long table. The menu is varied and the food on offer caters to a wide audience, with kids and vegetarian options available. I ordered the Blakes BBQ pulled pork Brioche bun. It came with coleslaw and homemade paprika shoe strings. It truly tasted delightful, so much so, I couldn't stop my daughter from stealing half of it! I would strongly recommend for all meat lovers out there! My wife ordered one of the specials; cheese toastie served with Portuguese chorizo stew. The toastie tasted decent, especially having been served on Blakes' very own, home baked sourdough bread (loaves are available for purchase at the till for £4). The stew however was rather disappointing, despite looking appetising and presented well, it tasted quite bland. The toilets were clean and tidy, as was the rest of the cafe. I found that the customer service could have been slightly more friendly, as I did not see a single smile. It is more expensive than most cafes but you are getting what you are paying for; high quality produce. I enjoyed my lunch at Blakes and I would recommend it to all, for a high-quality lunch out.

Still a great option for a treat, lovely for brunch, or a coffee and cake.

This place is a gem, the food is great. I can recommend all of the baked goods, the cinnamon rolls are great, so is the victoria sponge and the chocolate cake. You can see where this is going.

After a lengthy walk, we arrived at Blake’s kitchen. Spacious, well designed, with friendly and efficient staff. We had the cheese and garlic toasties with mushroom soup. Very tasty, and excellent value- just what was required! Would highly recommend to visitors to the area.

food is always so delicious and perfect. everyone is always so welcoming and friendly and do everything to make each meal perfect. the drinks are also amazing and they always have a good selection. it's good how they always change the menu so regulars can always find something new to have. there has never been a bad experience there and we have always left happy and full of good food

We had 2 “Blake’s breakfast” & our 8 month old had avocado and scrambled egg on toast. Our breakfasts were really poor, everything was so salty to the point of it stinging our tongues. Really unenjoyable. The hash browns were very thick but no flavour...

I called in a couple of weeks ago on a cycle ride. I don't normally stop as it's right on my doorstep so usually carry on home, but stopped with a group. The cakes are amazing! Puts hairs on your chest and will certainly fuel tired legs. Good Covid safety measures and friendly staff, I won't keep bypassing I'll make it a midride stop point. Thank you :)

Plenty of choice on their new post lockdown menu. Tempting smells of bbq as soon you enter the courtyard. Great fast service with plenty of space between tables. I chose the bbqed aubergine which was so well cooked it was almost caramelised. They really know how to put flavours together here. My mum chose the eggs and sausage burger muffin which looked delicious and a decent portion.

We were staying close by so went here for brunch. It was so amazing!! Great service. Great food. Amazing homemade breads. We loved it so much that we went there twice :-)And BONUS!!! If you need to mail something, the post office is inside the cafe

This is very easy to get to an park at. I popped in for a takeaway lunch. Their sandwiches sounded great however I didn’t want to wait so I chose a salad box. I went for large but only ate half so a small would definitely do. The cous cous and feta salad was very tasty however I would have liked more feta. The frittata was as expected, eggy and cheesey. The rice and sweet potato salad was my favourite. Sadly they put way more of the cous cous in the pot than the rice. Not a big issue but I would have liked a more equal split.The cakes are the main event here. I had a cinnamon swirl bun. Very soft and doughy. I wish I had gone for the cappuccino one though as that had more icing and I’m an icing fiend. The brownies also really tempted me. They had about 5 different flavours of very fudgey looking brownies. I will have to return to try one.

Delicious bread, buns and cakes baked daily. Eat in or takeaway with a specials board supplementing the standard menu. Everything full of flavour. Always delicious. Staff an additional asset. I can't praise it enough. Just shows what you can do if you get the product offer, ambience and staff right.

This has got to be the best place for either morning coffee or a light lunch. The coffee is excellent and the cinnamon swirls are to die for. Kelmscot sausage rolls are absolutely wonderful served with coleslaw and salad. What more do you need. Served with a smile and everything is sourced locally. They also make wonderful bread. We live close by so visit a lot.

We love this place. Its always a busy friendly atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and the range of food impressive. The star of the show for me is the cinnamon bun now award winning and for my wife the sausage roll with the meat coming from nearby Kelmscott. This place is always full and sometimes a little queue forms but it is always worth the wait. Long may it continue it deserves its plaudits

Gorgeous place, such an addition to the village. Yummy full fat milk in a proper glass bottle, too! Always busy with people who are clearly enjoying the wonderful bakery, salad bar and fresh vegetables for sale.

Often stop here for one of the amazing cinnamon buns. They are superb. Breakfast is also great . The vegetarian breakfast with hallumi is delicious. Great service.

My wife and I visited Blake’s for lunch. We really liked the decor and the friendly, calm and informative staff helped us relax immediately. All the food is freshly prepared and they even have a sourdough bakery out the back. I had a chicken tagine which was packed with chicken and my wife had a tomato and basil soup which was tasty once it had cooled down sufficiently to eat. The coffee is good and there is a large array of freshly baked brownies and whiteies. I had a vegan brownie which was truly scrumptious and my wife enjoyed a Nutella chocolate cake. The prices for the fayre represents excellent value for money and we will definitely return.

First visit: delicious menu and had an awesome breakfast. The bread is divine! Took cakes home also, succulent, moist and full of flavour! Fabulous addition to the village. Staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

We visited this lovely café on a sunny afternoon for a leisurely lunch and sat outside. We ordered a smoked chicken sandwich, goulash, Scotch egg and a pulled pork roll. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. We followed on with lemon drizzle cake, chocolate Guinness cake and doughnuts! So much delicious home made food - we rather overdid it! Then we bought a loaf of bread from the bakery and some gorgeous cheese to take home for later. What a find! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Popped into Blake’s kitchen for morning coffee following a recommendation. Great coffee and delicious cake selection - I went for a slice of the apple and maple sponge cake. It also has a bakery (you walk past the shelves of freshly baked bread on the way in), a sandwich bar, small deli food shop and a post office counter. Must be the heart of the village because by 11am it was packed. Well worth a visit!

We had our coffee and shared a cinnamon bun between 3. The cafe was doing a roaring.trade. Next time I would like to have lunch.

We had lunch here today, what a find! Really great food - I had a chicken, avocado & chipotle mayo ciabatta; my wife had sweet potato and lemongrass soup. We were able to park right outside, the staff were friendly and efficient, the highchairs were clean (which, surprisingly, many places fail miserably on). The prices were really fair, there were newspapers to read and lots of bread and cakes too. Had a takeaway coffee on the way out, which was perfect.

The Cotswolds have a dearth of restaurants and gastropubs but not enough good cafes; Ones that shine a light on how awful the chain cafs really are. This one does just that and with withering effect. Blakes kitchen is set in a beautiful Cotswold village and has all the village caf atmosphere to go with it. The staff couldn't be nicer and always go that extra bit. The menu is short enough to make choosing easy but has something for all tastes. There are also plenty of non-menu options and they often have specials. I live near by and go as often as i can. If you're a meat eater have the salt beef on Brioche, you won't be disappointed. Oh and did i mention it's also the village post office!

Visited Clanfield for two days of training and we had lunch from Blake's Kitchen both days. First day was a salad box, so scrummy, lots of interesting combination of flavours. Second day I ordered the Carrot Dhal - oh my word, with the sour dough bread a truly delicious lunch. The brownie was wonderful and a welcome distraction from the traffic jam on the way home in the car later that day.

Love this little cafe! The cakes are amazing and what's even better they're all baked in the kitchen there and it show's in the food. Cinnamon buns are a must! Along with the brownies, I've never had such a gooey brownie! I will say it's a bit more on the pricer side but concidering everything is freshly made in the kitchen yout don't mind so much. The coffee is pretty good too! Worth the drive out
