What kind of place takes cash only in this day and age? Absolutely ridiculous and was a waste of my time.

Best Fish & Chips in the area in my opinion. Staff are friendly & food is fantastic. My man on the fryer knows his stuff! 10/10

Soggy fish and uncooked potatoes

Great fish and chips! Batter is lovely and crispy, and very large portion sizes on the chips, haven't been disappointed once after multiple visits!

Poor food , fish very soggy ! I wanted nice crispy batter, chips ok! Curry sauce needs improvement it was like water,and no flavour. £12.50 wasted. Also asked about gf was met with attitude as if too say why would we do that !! Sorry burford road is so much nicer ...

Great little chip shop in the centre of the Shilton Park estate. I’m from Scotland so we love to deep fry everything and it’s hard to get stuff that would remind me of home down here. I’ve requested a few things that aren’t on the menu like a Scottish Burger and the service there is fantastic. They have a laugh with you and are quick and efficient in serving you. The food is lovely too and well priced in comparison to the other takeaways on the square. I certainly recommend this place.

It was quick and chips were tasty but only cash taken and their curry sauce needs some attention. Watery and not great tasting.

Lovely fresh fish and chips, always clean and appealing

Welcoming place. Warm after the cold evening. Clean too. The chips were, ever so ever slightly greasy, for my liking but more than great though. The battered fried sausage was crisp. My only thing was I think it may have been sitting for a bit, and they seemed quiet so I didn't have the heart to ask for a fresh one. The curry sauce was nice, not too sweet and of an okay temperature. All in all, for a chippy that I randomly tired after an internet review, very good. I'll very likely be back.

Had fish and chips. Fish very greasy. Didn't taste right. 3 hours later was sick. Which is a shame as had fishcakes from them before no problems.

Best in the area! The staff are great, and I love the fact that they’re cash only. It won’t be long until that’s a thing of the past, so fair play to them for sticking to physical currency! Their haddock is amazing, and their battered sausages are always crispy, and never greasy. Keep up the great work!

We normally love the Harbour but last Friday our fish was over cooked. But the rest of our food was lovely. We will go again

Not very pleasant , chips were soggy and curry was like water, it needs to be thicker. Battered sausage was nice . No gf options either, I know it's differcult because of the fryers and cross contamination but like other chip shops they do set nights when they do gluten free. Won't be rushing back .

For me, so far. This is the best chippy in West Oxfordshire. Good Fish cooked to perfection in a crispy batter. Nice chips from clean oil. The place is kept immaculately clean too.

Nice and friendly. But - I wish they would cook the chips properly. Sometimes on busy evenings (when under queue pressure) the chips can be served out just slightly under cooked.

We only discovered the Harbour recently. We had been using another local takeaway but since finding this place it will be our future chippy of choice. The batter is always crispy, the chips always fresh and to be fair they are sold so quick they don’t have the chance to go soggy or stale. Sometimes there is a long line of customers but that is truly a reflection on the quality of the product. It is near the co-op so any drinks or supplies you need can also be bought on route. It really is worth a try. I recommend.

the shop has a very good system of serving and the prces are very good the food is first class and it is packaged in boxes to keep it hot until you get home

Visit here as best chip shop in area. Chips are done lovely, fish is nice! Curry is bit watery it needs to be thicker. Prices are reasonable, would recommend

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Always buy my fish and chips from here now, staff are friendly and the food is reasonably priced. Fish cakes are amazing! The fish is amazing! And the chips aren’t the usual soggy greasy chip shop chips either!

Placed a group order from here at the weekend for 20 kids meals and 6 adult meals. Phoned ahead and gave them a time and the food was ready and waiting for us. Kids meals were excellent value including a Capri Sun drink. Food was tasty and well cooked as was evident by the lack of leftovers.

We are regulars and have never been disappointed. Great local chippy! The kids like the burgers (beef and chicken). We can confirm the fish, roe and pies are lovely. And chips are just right - not greasy, not crunchy..just right!!

Great chipper. Chips are just as I like them, they have a great selection, and the kids meal boxes are such great value. To top it off the staff are so friendly!

I frequently eat the chips and my husband loves both the fish & the chips-but being gluten intolerant I can't partake of the fish..apparently they used to sell gluten free fish but they didn't sell much so sadly, they stopped. My husband works over a wide radius of Carterton & says it's the best chippy around!

Really nice food here and an up market interior make this place the best fish and chips around. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Best chip shop in the area by a long way

Lovely chip shop , staff are all very pleasant and great with customers . Few tweaks would make it 5 stars for me personally. Fish was beautiful!! Chips were under cooked, still very pale, curry sauce was very runny needs to be thicker , reasonable price and will definitely be back just personal preference

This is the best place to have fish and chips if you are in Carterton. The fish taste so good. we had to wait in queue to get fish and chips but it was worth it.

The food was disgusting. The chicken nuggets tasted like sausage, the curry sauce was watery and had lots of bits in. The chips were okay, but overall disgusted. Will never eat here again

On our first night in our new house we chose traditional fish and chips. The Harbour was packed when I arrived which I took as a good sign and the meal didn't disappoint. Hefty portions, gorgeous crispy fish and not too greasy. Delicious.

If a food shop has a queue then it must be good and this place always has a queue. The fish is crispy and never greasy and the chips are perfect. They only cook fresh food to order and never warmed up early cooked food. The best fish and chips in Oxfordshire.

Nice chips, not keen on their fish though. The batter is hit and miss. Often found sausages overcooked and almost burnt underneath batter also. Great for a quick addition of chips if in the area.

The portion sizes of chips are quite small. We opted for a large bag between the 3 of us and there wasn't enough. I think it was 2 scoops of chips, size of a standard bag in most other chippys. However the food is delicious esp the homemade fish cakes. Would give a 5 star but due to portion size this let it down

I live in London, where there's an abundance of high quality fish and chip shops. This is probably the best cod and chips I have tried.

The cod was superb. Crisp batter, nice fish. Fresh chips and again crisp. Well priced, worth a visit.

La comida es de buena calidad, sin embargo, decepciona enormemente por el tamaño de la porción. Primer viaje me dieron un chips estándar y había literalmente un puñado de patatas fritas. Sin embargo la comida era buena, así que volver la semana siguiente. Optamos por un chips grandes para compensar la pequeña porción anterior. Bien, digamos que un chips grandes no es aún tan grande como una parte estándar de la mayoría de los demás chippys! Es una pena realmente, ya que es de buena calidad y siempre comida casera, agradable y caliente y sabores frescos. Hasta que el tamaño de la porción de tipo no regresaré. Mis colegas también dijo lo mismo y no hay más debido a la misma razón. Es una pena realmente como está convenientemente situado y sin duda volveríamos si el tamaño de la porción para el mismo tamaño como competidores.

Literalmente recogieron el bacalao y patatas fritas para mí y mi esposa y patatas fritas saveloy para mi hijo así como de salsa curry pot. Llegamos a la casa (2 minutos) para encontrar tanto piedra fría de pescado. Pasta era cálido, pero el pescado era insípida, así que arrojaban en la papelera. Se quejó de que el hijo era como cartón saveloy Las patatas fritas parecía que había sido fritos y no eran impresionantes. Salsa de curry también era como líquidos). Una experiencia terrible por £20 y me recuerda por qué no comprar pescado y patatas fritas en Oxfordshire.

Being from Scotland, it's the best English chippy I've had, out side Scotland. But still can improve. Portion size are medium to big, or massive if you go for large chips.

Having moved to West Oxfordshire a few years ago we tried to find a good fish and chip shop and we've tried many within a 15 mile radius. Harbour offers good quality fish, tasty crispy batter and the portions are ample. I can't believe someone on here suggests they're small portions. Friendly staff, well wrapped and efficient quick service.

This is a very successful chip shop!The tastiest fish in Carterton, prefer this one to all chip shops locally. Does not take card, cash only.

My family and I have enjoyed fish and chips from this place on many occasions. The kids menu is particularly good and often would be enough food for an adult!

Have visited this fish and chip shop many times usually on a Friday night, the fish is fried to order as myself and partner have haddock,it is allways very tasty,the chips are cooked to perfection as is the fish,the staff a very friendly and helpful,will continue to visit this very exceptional for the foreseeable future.

I would love to see any other fish and chip shop compete with this legend of a shop!! The fish is so fresh the batter crisp but soft on the inside and chips cooked to perfection. Hardly any grease like in other places. Very clean and welcoming shop. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my fish and chips.... and for people complaining about the portion sizes maybe they should learn to eat less and enjoy their food rather than just sit and scoff their faces.
