Hut 55 in Dover

One of our favourite places to have coffee and delicious food on the beach now has an indoor seating area. What’s not to like! Top spot in Walmer/Deal 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Fantastic little café right on the beach with great coffee, amazing homemade food, and superb atmosphere. You can sit on a deck chair on the beach or now inside in the newly converted indoor seating area. They are now open Thursday to Sunday during the winter as well as full time for the rest of the year. Bike hire available, dog friendly and some of the best cakes and sausage rolls in town....what more could you ask for?

My son has just moved to Deal and we went for a morning stroll to this lovely cafe /bakery. Prompt. friendly service and lots to choose from! There are deck chairs to sit in on the beach whilst consuming your food and drink and taking in the stunning sea views. Well worth a visit and quite rightly a very popular place with the locals.

Great for a coffee on the beach. All sorts of sweet and savory treats. Just great. Unfortunately we only managed two visits :)

Stopped for coffee and a cake and chilled out on the beach deck chairs, highly recommended. Staff were very pleasant taking the time to chat and quick with service. Coffee was good, and the raspberry/almond slice was very good.

Best place to sit with a coffee and appreciate the seaside. Always have lovely conversations with people and meet more cute dogs! Amazing staff, epic coconut cappuccino, great rolls and treats.

When the sun is out, you can't beat it

Picked up a picnic box as a surprise lunch for my boyfriend's birthday. We enjoyed unboxing all of the delicious plates on the beach. The salads and huge sausage rolls were especially great. Also a big thank you to Kate for accommodating a special request.

A simply sensational first Sundowner Sunday Supper at Hut55 on the beach tonight. The food was exceptional , the ambience was Deal at its very best and the weather was just perfect Thank you, all of you, but especially Kate.- We all look forward to the next one !

To put this in context, I live in a foodie hotspot in the Cotswolds and delight in good eating. Spurred on by a slew of excellent reviews, we stopped off on a recent trip to Kent, to buy a couple of the "Massive" Sausage Rolls for the return journey. Not only were they indeed massive but I dare say the very best I have tasted in a very long life, the pastry as delicious as the generous filling. But then we could not resist slices of the Ploughman's (sausage meat, turkey, cheese, pickle), the huge golden-brown cheese and ham scones and at least two varieties of the much-too-tempting cakes. Every single item was as mouth-watering as the one before. Someone at Hut 55 can really bake! 🥇 The only disappointment is that we are so far away!

Delicious coffee and cake in a great place. Worth it! Also a nice place with your dog, there is drinking water and dog biscuits. But a special "cappuccino" for dogs!

First of all the staff who work here are just the best. Always friendly, welcoming and make you feel right at home. The coffee is great, the food is absolutely delicious, the cakes to die for. This is definitely a must-visit place whether you live in Deal or just visiting. I would go out of my way to pop round here.

Sadly didn’t have a chance to try Hut 55 as our parking was about to run out but given 5 stars for the creative signage that made us laugh. Definitely visiting next time we are in Deal.

Lovely beach pit stop. There are deckchairs or bring a blanket. The savoury selection is really imaginative. All homemade. We had a slice of ploughman's pie, layers of cheese pickle and pork and a butternut squash chickpeas and harissa in pastry both delicious. The oat milk cappuccino was really good and hot. The cakes looked fab..Next time! Very busy bit of a wait but worth it. Really nice staff. Loved it.

Outside seating with sea views. Coffee nice and comes in recyclable cups good selection cakes. cycle hire on the premises as right next to the cycle path.

The service here is phenomenal. Our first visit we picked our dogs up a doggy coffee which our pup spilt. The lady came out with 3 fresh ones for free having seen this. A few days later we hired bikes. On securing the bikes the key broke in the lock so we were stranded in Dover. The Hut 55 team couldn’t have been more helpful to ensure we got back ok and it didn’t impact our day. They offered free coffee and cake on our return as an apology too. Truly service like this is so rare these days- this place is a gem and the staff deserve recognition for an above and beyond attitude. Thank you!

Without doubt the best teastop about ! All the cakes and savouries I have purchased have been delicious, washed down with good, hot tea. Staff are friendly and helpful, location spot on, will be back, thank you. Still the best !

For those of us lucky enough to live in Deal, this place is such a perfect spot to hang out. Amazing food. Amazing staff. And you can hire bikes 🙌 If the sun is shining, there’s nowhere better!

The choice of cakes was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were savoury items available but I didn't sample this time. Would definitely recommend Seating was mostly deckchairs on the beach which was uncomfortable.

It was a great snack! I had a rocky road which was incredible! And my sister had some tea which apparently was very good as well a great place to relax.

Beautiful location , coffee was peng . Staff are lovely . Highly recommend if you’re on a walk on the Strand seafront. No better place for a coffee, no fake flat whites 😍. Will be back ☕️

Absolutely the best place in Deal for a lovely brunch. The food is absolutely delicious. The bacon and egg baps, sausage rolls, scotch eggs etc are too die for! Now finally open again. An added bonus are the deckchairs

Never fails to please and the takeaway food is exceptional be it sweet or savoury. The deckchairs are very welcome on nice days too!

Wow, what an amazing selection of very tasty cakes, couldn't decide so chose 3, highly reccomend them all, raspberry slice, ginger cake and apple and blackberry slice. Coffee is also delicious All served by polite and smiley ladies. We will definitely be back

Booked bikes and vegetarian picnic. Really lovely staff and picnic was delicious - it was so much food we had the leftovers for lunch the next day! Would highly recommend and hope to go back soon.

Very excellent service and good selection of drinks and food. I also hired one of their bikes for 2 hours and explored the coast, well worth doing on a nice day.

Seen Hut 55 on our many trips to Deal but never taken the time to stop, so glad we did this time. The massive sausage rolls are delicious. The next time we sat on their deckchairs to enjoy quiche and coffee on the beach, it was again delicious and the coffee is equally good. Also tried their homemade cakes - delicious is a much used word in this review but they were! We definitely stop again on our next trip.

On holiday in the area and returning from a long walk, when l came across this delightful Cafe. 5 Star service and food (it really was home-baked) and there was a large range of sandwiches/sausage rolls/quiches/scones etc.. They have created a lovely area to sit on the beach, with deckchairs and beanbags - a glorious place to relax. I was going home for lunch but purchased some coffee and pecan cake. So, so delicious - l shall have to walk again tomorrow to try some more. I looked at their excellent website and they also supply picnics and hire out bikes. Excellent value in view of the quality and portions of their products.

We were passing and it looked good. A fab spot in the beach with marvellous views and some lovely beach style seating. I had a coffee and a homemade sausage roll which was very nice. There was an appealing selection of home made cakes too although sadly I didn’t try any. Will definitely stop in again when passing

What a lovely spot to have such a beautiful cafe. Great freindly service with loads of cleverly thought through places to informally sit or perch to eat and drink. Coffee was fantastic and although we didn't have food, it all looked tasty, fresh and home cooked. You can also hire a bike as well. Thank you.

This place deserves 10 stars! Such a fantastic addition to the beach, with excellent homemade pastries and cakes, and great coffee. Staff are jolly and friendly, and just the best :)

Back from our travels and delighted to find the hut still open. Wonderful bacon and egg rolls plus home made scones with cheese and ham. Hope they manage to stay open through the winter as their food and cakes are fabulous!

Lovely spot for a pitstop on a ride, with deck chairs out for customers to enjoy the seaview and fab sausage roll and coffee to refuel the tank.

Wonderful selection of cakes and savouries, the majority being home made. They have wonderful bacon and egg rolls for £3.20! They also have deckchairs for you to sit in.

Best coffee and scotch eggs in Kent

Though a new addition, this blends in with the ethos of the area and offers great and I mean really great coffee and bike hire a volonte. You no longer need to regret not having brought your bike down... Just rent one. The way forward! And the people are genuinely helpful. It's a 5 star... Ooh and I forgot.. they do kids bikes! Phew.. peace for parents!

Stopped off at this quaint little shack on our walk from Walmer castle to Deal. Perfect midway point to rest up, chill out and enjoy a coffee and cake. And what great cakes they are too! Although I didn't try one the sausage rolls and baguettes looked tasty. Worth noting as well that veggie options were available as well as some gluten free cakes. Friendly service, will stop by again!
