Never disappoints, staff are very friendly and know their stuff, milkshakes can not be beaten and food always hits the spot! 10/10, a worthy trip to sandwich 🍔🥤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I are visiting her sister here in sandwich Kent UK. She recommended Hay’s Shack as she said that the food was great. They did not disappoint!! Our first meal was cheese burger and fries. My wife said it was fantastic! Just the right amount of seasoning. She said it reminded her of my burgers. She then tried the Hay’s Tasty Burger which has become her favourite!They were good as well as the fries! I have had the chicken and rice with spice. Omg I’ve had it twice just to make sure it was that good! It is! Succulent pieces of seasoned chicken thigh I believe with beautifully seasoned rice and a sweet chili sauce that is absolutely delicious as well as being made in house! would put them on the top of my list of places to try in Sandwich! I have not mentioned that the staff and owners are very friendly and quite helpful in helping to choose what to order. You really feel like you belong there. Like you are part of the family. The decor and atmosphere are charming and friendly, while the music playlist is fantastic as well! They also have vegetarian dishes to offer! Something for everyone! Highly recommend!!

Great place to eat, food is always fresh and tasty. They cater for gluten free with their own GF fryer and prep area. Don’t pass this place up you will regret it!

Went here a few months back after hearing good things, we weren’t disappointed at all.. The staff seem to have a genuine passion and the food was great. Last night we ordered delivery and yeah, excellent again! Great choices, arrived very quickly, tasted perfect! Very lucky to have somewhere like this in Sandwich.

What a brilliant place this was to go for dinner with friends. We both have young children and it was perfect. They have games available for the children to play and offered colouring and activity sheets too. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, I would highly recommend the loaded fries with chicken and halloumi and the shakes are soooo good! We will definitely be returning, it was 5* all round!

Friendly place , staff are very helpful , i had a yummy biscoff milkshake and bring a vegetarian lots of options available i would recommend the moving mountain burger and macaroni cheese , well worth a visit to Hayes shack

We’ve been here so often now! It’s always a pleasure. The food is fresh and delicious, the range is great and there’s something to suit everyone - in our experience, picky, plain and adventurous eaters, vegans, those with light and hearty appetites and everyone in between will all eat well, and even your dog will get a biscuit. The service is always friendly and welcoming. It’s a lovely place, we strongly recommend it.

Wandered in here planning to grab a coffee and was so impressed by the menu and service we stayed for dinner. Superb smashed burgers but the rest of the menu offered enough choice to satisfy everyone and yet was limited enough for the chefs to do everything really, really well. Offered gluten-free bun. Really friendly and helpful service; superb food.

The food was amazing. The Chicken Rice and Spice was especially good. And the portion sizes were huge. Really good value for money.

What a find! Hay's Shack was recommended by a volunteer at Sandwich Museum as a good place serving gluten free options. Dan, one of the owners, greeted us really warmly and ran through the various gluten free options on the menu. There was so much choice and Dan clearly had a good understanding of a gluten allergy. The cafe was lovely...bright and homely and the food amazing and sensibly priced. Thank you Dan and Lexi for your friendly welcome and great food. We'll definitely be back when we're next in the area and would have no hesitation in recommending Hay's Shack. Xx

Such a lovely little restaurant. The Yorker wraps are packed full of flavour and one of the best I’ve ever had. You can even play games whilst you wait.

Made my 1 st visit to Hay Shack this evening and will definitely return .i ordered the Chicken and Rice box it was served promptly and has fantastic flavours and was great value . The staff were friendly and professional, if you are yet to give it a try i would highly recommend.

We have been here a couple of times now and both times have been served great food and the service is spot on. A good choice on the menu I can recommend the Mac n cheese and the specials of Yorkshire puddings wrap. The milkshakes are very tasty and a meal on its own! Superb eating place which I would recommend this place to anyone.

After issues listed below the owners contacted me with a reply to this review and happily compensated us and also explained what had happened, unfortunately Google will not alow me to delete this post and rating, only edit it so I'm changing the star rating as we have been compensated and are more than satisfied with how we have been treated. Many thanks for your fast reply and the solutions you offered. Ordered online , 2 mains and 3 sides , recieved call saying our food would be late, offered 2 drinks as a sorry when delivered only 1 main and the sides arrived with one drink. Phone number on receipt didn't work and mobile number from website kept refusing the call, eventually got through to delivery driver and he agreed to bring the missing food. The missing food arrived over an hour later and when it arrived it was cold, burnt and more fat than meat

Just found this place walking past, myself, my wife and daughter bought the sharing platter for £35. My god lovely food and amazingly generous portions full of flavour highly recommended. Well definitely be back.

Had our first visit this afternoon and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We had a very friendly welcome as soon as we walked in and everything was perfect. The staff were so friendly and helpful, such a great relaxing atmosphere. There was 3 of us and we all had different dishes from the many choices on the menu. We all said how lovely and delicious all the food was and that we will definitely be returning. Thank you all so much for a lovely visit.

Originally I said 'Best gourmet burgers I've had in ages. Delicious!' but recently things have not gone well. Our burgers this time were basically raw and inedible. Such a shame.

This place probably has the nicest staff ever. Just visiting for the New Year, and two staff members said a genuine “Hello!” with a genuine smile. I was really touched. I didn’t feel like the place just wanted my money, which is how I often feel these days in most establishments. This place genuinely seems to love and appreciate its customers which shows because I went in on New Year’s Day, and it was so busy with orders! They even kept me informed of how long my food would be, asked if I was ok, and provided me with my drink in good time. Would 100% recommend because most places take their custom for granted and act superior to their patrons, but this place offers kind and respectful service. Great food as well. Kitchen very clean. Everything is cooked fresh. Seating area clean and nicely decorated. Nice one! Thank you! Can’t wait to visit again! :)

I had a yorkshire pudding wrap with pigs in blankets and a biscoff milkshake. It was such amazing quality food and great delivery.

Great place, we sat inside and had a meal, vast menu with a good selection, lovely friendly staff and really good food. Portion sizes excellent and food nice and hot. They deliver too which we will try soon.

Ordering was simple and efficient, came in really good time and the food was perfect exactly what I was looking for and the coffee hit the right spot. Staff where super friendly and helpful all in all really good experience keep it up 👍

Great place to eat, my burger was amazing, so beefy and tasty. Wraps, Halloumi and the sweet potato fries were lovely too. My daughter is lactose intolerant so she really enjoyed her lactose free milkshake. Nice set out menu with good choices and excellent labelling, with lots of vegan options. The place had a really nice vibe and great decor so would definitely go back.

Currently staying in Littlebourne, visiting from the Netherlands and our lovely hosts proposed to us to go have a look ar the beautiful village Sandwich that is close by. While me and my boyfriend where exploring the hysterical buildings , we stumbled across Hay’s Shack and had such a lovely lunch. The food was exceptional, the place very cozy and felt very welcomed by the friendly staff. Definitely recommend and for sure we will be visiting again.

Food was amazing!! Great staff and very friendly. Found this place by accident and gave it a chance. It paid off, because it was one of the most unique food items I’ve ever had (Yorkshire Pudding Wrap - available only on Sundays). Highly recommend!

This place is a wonderful addition to Sandwich and a little paradise for burger lovers . We received very warm welcome from the staff who explained the menu and the service from start to finish was fantastic. The place is super clean, cosy, smells lovely. The food is beautiful, lots of options ( even for vegans ) , full of flavour, well presented and the portions are very generous. Don’t miss this place . We know we will definitely be back soon to try more options .

Staff were really polite and friendly, however the quality of the food did not match up at all. Chicken in the wrap had no flavour, was gristly and tasted cheap. Could only stomach 2 bites and had to bin the rest. Such a shame, as spent a fair amount on it for a lunch.

I got a order from just eat for delivery we got rotting sweet corn , old cold chicken wing, poor quality chicken used the I was shocked because it took 1 hour to arrive but that wasn’t for preparing it the only thing that was even good quality was the hot sauce. What a waste of money, this was the first and the last time I will ever order from them.

Popped in with my daughter in law for a quick lunch . We had a burger, mac and cheese, fries and a pulled pork flat bread. They were all amazing , (especially the Mac and cheese, my favourite) Staff were friendly and helpful and the place had a nice vibe about it . Reasonably priced and a lovely town to visit . Enjoyed a truly great burger at Hay's Shack on Saturday, probably the finest I have ever eaten!! Perfectly prepared!! Welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Can highly recommend. This place is a gem!

Sadly, this experience was very poor. The atmosphere was quiet, but then was ruined by a dog urinating on the floor. Nothing was available on the menu and therefore had to reorder a few times, which was minor inconvenience, but the waitress was very kind and apologetic. The comment was made that the chicken wings would need to be brought from 'Spar' and so I changed my order to thighs. After waiting over half an hour for the food, it was very disappointing. The Mac and cheese was bland and tasted shop brought. The chicken thighs were cold and dry and I was unable to eat them. My partner ate the burger and left his 'spicy' rice as there was no flavour at all. We did eat the halloumi fries, which were ok, but did not warrant the price. After building the courage to explain we could not eat the meal having only had a few bites, we were asked it we wanted it taken of the bill. When we paid, only the chicken was removed and yet paid £39.50 for a burger and rice (£16 with rice not eaten), sprite (£2), milkshake (£5.80) and halloumi fries (£7.20), hash browns (£3.50) and macaroni cheese (£5 which was not actually eaten minus a few bites). Very rarely do we get the opportunity to go out for dinner and I feel we were not only disappointed but then overcharged massively for the whole meal, despite not eating a huge part of it. We would like to hear back from the manager as there did not appear to be any seniority present and despite apologising, staff did not handle the situation well at all from a complaint perspective.

Been to Hay's more times than I can remember. Always been amazing. The food is awesome, full of flavour, big portions and great choice. Customer service is top notch and the prices are very good (not cheap, but quality exceeds the cost) thanks Hay & Co, keep it up!

My kids visited here with my in laws last week and loved it so much they asked us to take them back there a few days later! Staff friendly and helpful but the milkshakes (especially the Biscoff one!) are to die for! Can’t fault it and will definitely be returning whenever we are in the area.
