Walked in and the owners were very friendly making me feel very welcome. Had the Pulled Pork with BBQ sauce and a side of fries. Great plate of food.

As a burger fan & a lover of Mac and cheese, this place is elite tier

Food presentation could be improved. Better selection of salad iceberg lettuce is a bit old school. Portion size were large.

Went to hays shack for lunch ordered a bbq pulled pork wrap and pulled pork burger and loaded fries to share Portion sizes were generous Staff was very friendly and welcoming Prices were very good! Food was amazing!! Great staff and very friendly. Found this place by accident and gave it a chance. It paid off, because it was one of the most unique food items I’ve ever had (Yorkshire Pudding Wrap - available only on Sundays). Highly recommend!

What a gem! 4 adults had a lovely dinner. Somthing for everyone with lots of choice for vegetarians and vegans. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Dogs are welcome. The milkshakes were phenomenal and we’ll certainly be back next time we are in Samdwich.

This place is a wonderful addition to Sandwich and a little paradise for burger lovers . We received very warm welcome from the staff who explained the menu and the service from start to finish was fantastic. The place is super clean, cosy, smells lovely. The food is beautiful, lots of options ( even for vegans ) , full of flavour, well presented and the portions are very generous. Don’t miss this place . We know we will definitely be back soon to try more options .

Staff were really polite and friendly, however the quality of the food did not match up at all. Chicken in the wrap had no flavour, was gristly and tasted cheap. Could only stomach 2 bites and had to bin the rest. Such a shame, as spent a fair amount on it for a lunch.

I got a order from just eat for delivery we got rotting sweet corn , old cold chicken wing, poor quality chicken used the I was shocked because it took 1 hour to arrive but that wasn’t for preparing it the only thing that was even good quality was the hot sauce. What a waste of money, this was the first and the last time I will ever order from them.

Popped in with my daughter in law for a quick lunch . We had a burger, mac and cheese, fries and a pulled pork flat bread. They were all amazing , (especially the Mac and cheese, my favourite) Staff were friendly and helpful and the place had a nice vibe about it . Reasonably priced and a lovely town to visit . Will be back in the future

Sadly, this experience was very poor. The atmosphere was quiet, but then was ruined by a dog urinating on the floor. Nothing was available on the menu and therefore had to reorder a few times, which was minor inconvenience, but the waitress was very kind and apologetic. The comment was made that the chicken wings would need to be brought from 'Spar' and so I changed my order to thighs. After waiting over half an hour for the food, it was very disappointing. The Mac and cheese was bland and tasted shop brought. The chicken thighs were cold and dry and I was unable to eat them. My partner ate the burger and left his 'spicy' rice as there was no flavour at all. We did eat the halloumi fries, which were ok, but did not warrant the price. After building the courage to explain we could not eat the meal having only had a few bites, we were asked it we wanted it taken of the bill. When we paid, only the chicken was removed and yet paid £39.50 for a burger and rice (£16 with rice not eaten), sprite (£2), milkshake (£5.80) and halloumi fries (£7.20), hash browns (£3.50) and macaroni cheese (£5 which was not actually eaten minus a few bites). Very rarely do we get the opportunity to go out for dinner and I feel we were not only disappointed but then overcharged massively for the whole meal, despite not eating a huge part of it. We would like to hear back from the manager as there did not appear to be any seniority present and despite apologising, staff did not handle the situation well at all from a complaint perspective.

Been to Hay's more times than I can remember. Always been amazing. The food is awesome, full of flavour, big portions and great choice. Customer service is top notch and the prices are very good (not cheap, but quality exceeds the cost) thanks Hay & Co, keep it up!

My daughter has used Hays in past so thought we’d give it a go. Had delivered and it was great , arrived nice and hot ,and tasted amazing ! The best food delivery I’ve ever had and will be my go to in future 😋

My kids visited here with my in laws last week and loved it so much they asked us to take them back there a few days later! Staff friendly and helpful but the milkshakes (especially the Biscoff one!) are to die for! Can’t fault it and will definitely be returning whenever we are in the area.

Our second night staying in Sandwich we chose hays shack. We got a takeaway to eat by the river. We ordered the weekly special a sharing box filled with a selection of things garlic prawns, southern fried chicken, steak & chips etc. it was so nice perfectly cooked. You can eat in but it was such a nice early evening and the river is such a beautiful setting. Wanted to enjoy the late summer weather. Hays food was delicious. Great choice of food very well cooked with quality ingredients. Definitely recommend

I visited Hay’s Shack for lunch today. I went up to the counter to order and witnessed really poor hygiene standards. The ‘chef’ was busy scraping the food preparation work top with a knife. He then scraped the knife in the bin and then put the knife straight back on the work surface. Yuck! My wife and I have eaten here a few times, the food has been fairly good. We left without ordering this time and won’t be back. Sorry.

Great burger with raclette and bacon, I recommend the skin on fries with chorizo and more raclette. We didn't try them but the milkshakes looked fab.

I came to Sandwich for the first time intent on being able to say "I ate a sandwich in Sandwich". As it turned out no sandwich shops took my fancy - a much touted one was closed on the day I visited - but this cozy and cool corner eatery caught my attention. What a fortuitous choice: a great selection of street foodish burgers,wraps and a spicy chicken rice option, plus a host of sides (salads, guacamole, halloumi, etc). Vegan options available. I am big into rice, so I opted for that with one side (crispy fries, doubling up in the carbs as per usual!) and an Americano (total £11). Superb, tasty food. As for owner Hayley and her excellent helper, they could not do enough to ensure everything was as I wanted it, from moving the table for me - those carbs leave their mark - and giving me a spoon to eat my chicken rice with (long story). As it happens, Hayley mentioned as I was paying that she plans her own special Sandwich sandwich. Have to come back for that! Highly recommended.
