Popped in on a whim late on Friday lunchtime. Attracted fish and chips advert. A Harvey's house, so reasonably sure there'd be a good beer to wash down the f&C's. I had haddock and chips with mushy peas.(Garden peas also available) with a pint of Harvey's Sussex best bitter. I was not disappointed, the batter was crispy and cooked to perfection as was the fish within. The chips are worthy of separate mention, crisp outside soft interior, just how chips should be. Great mushy peas made the complete dish. The pint of Harvey's was beautifully kept and delicious. I sat in the garden which has plenty of seating but sadly too few people to provide an atmosphere, probably due to late arrival for lunchtime. Service was cheerful and efficient with staff eager to describe all the beers available, I was given a taste of one, Camden Pale but had my mind set on Harvey's Best. Well worth a visit if you are on the Kent/Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells.

I'm staying in a local chain Hotel that serves chips with every meal. I have a medical condition and don't cope with chips. I telephoned the pub and they could not have been more helpful completely appreciating my needs. I traveled 30 min round trip each day to pick up takeaways of beautiful tasting food that I could cope with. Cannot thank the Chef and staff enough. Next time I am working in the area I will be phoning for food. THANK YOU Brecknock Arms.

Ellie and her team laid on a great breakfast for our group of 20 car enthusiasts. We had use of their function room in the garden so lots of room to sit and chat while the food was served. The Full English buffet was great, all nicely cooked and plenty to go round, complete with coffee, tea & orange juice. All of us enjoyed it.

Just one stop on the train out of Tunbridge Wells and you will find yourself in Bells Yew Green, the station is Frant but let’s not get into that. Wander up to this amazing local and you will find quite possibly the best Sunday Roast for miles around. We dined here and had the best of roasts ever. So, so many fresh vegetables and so much meat this was a true delight. Hand created deserts to follow and some of the best brews in the area, who could ask for more? A train back to RTW in less than 5 minutes, brilliant. This is a true local and one you should not miss. We had a great time and, in the words of Arnie, We’ll be back.

I booked the Brecknock for a chill casual hen do. We had afternoon tea which is very reasonably priced, fresh, delicious home made ingredients. Lots of variety and endless supply, you do not walk away hungry! The attention given to us was really lovely, checking in if we needed any top ups on tea and coffees. They allowed us to use their projector to watch Shrek and also pop some decorations up. Very accommodating as all the teas were vegan, including cheesecake. Me and my husband have come.tk the Brecknock a few times for dinner and particularly really rate the fish and chips. Amazing service, lovely people. Couldn't be more grateful.

Quick stop whilst driving past, we also had a dog with us. Journeying late afternoon on a Bank Holiday Monday we decided to stop for a bite to eat, we'd passed this pub many times and thought we'd give it a go. We had missed the lunch menus, but they still had a few simple dishes of hot food so we stayed. A simple scampi and chips with a little salad and a couple of drinks from the bar. Food was good, hot, fresh and tasty which was what we needed. Looking around the garden, at the side there is a large wooden building with lots of windows, looked very comfortable for small events etc. Inside there are a couple of traditional bar areas, comfortable cones to mind. Toilets were very clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and approachable. We pass this pub a few times a week and will definitely be back, especially interested in their Sunday roast. Although we were advised to call and book as they are very popular locally.

When Storm Eunice hit, the local village lost all power for 4 days, so I contacted the pub and asked whether they could do a Sunday Roast as a takeaway for my elderly parents. Zoe was very helpful, she agreed to plate up a couple of dinners at the time I wanted. We collected two plates of chicken roast and delivered them to my parents - they were very impressed at both the amount and quality. Zoe trusted us to return the plates, which we did the next day. At £10.95 each, it was excellent value too. Many thanks.
