Having a child with SEN needs makes you judge places like this in a vastly different way. With 3 children to navigate around a popular children’s destination as a lot of families do, it’s crucial and very considerate of the location to offer some support/adaptations to the experience to make it inclusive to all parents and children. My eldest son of 6 has complicated genetic issues and strong autism characteristics. Sadly cheshire ice cream farm failed on this miserably. There were zero provisions for autistic children or children with differing issues. Small things like being able to go on rides without queuing for half an hour which is impossible for my son and a lot of similar children makes the experience better for all. In other parks around the world this is widely accepted as we’ve experienced and most other parents are generally understanding. Whether we were queuing for rides or snacks and ice cream, it was hugely stressful for my son who doesn’t understand we have to queue. No staff of parents offered to let us go first and it became increasingly stressful and we felt like a hindrance rather than being welcomed and able to relax and enjoy the facilities like everyone else. The arcade area of the restaurant that my son would have enjoyed to calm him down was up some stairs which would have limited access for any wheelchair bound children wanting to use this facility. It was also years 7 and under. To which we were told because my son was 6 he would have to leave immediately. And as the room was a welcome rest item for him this only added to the stress for us as he wanted to stay and play for 5 minutes. Safe to say we won’t be returning to Cheshire ice cream farm anytime soon and urge any other parents of SEN children to do the same.

My friend and I popped in on our lunch break for a mug of tea. We shared New York baked cheesecake and chocolate brownie. They were both delicious. We have had the lovely scones on previous visits, and they come served warm.

Walked in after a 4 hour drive today, didn't know the place, never seen it before and just wanted a drink before driving again. The woman at the bar was super unhelpful and scowled at me the whole way through me ordering our drinks, for £16.40 for two pints i would have expected at least friendly service. I get it I was not in suit but does that deserve to be scowled at and made to feel super unwelcome. We finished our drinks and got the hell out of there as quick as we could. Will never return and have already told my wealthier friends and family not to attend this place

We walked in on the Saturday night yo make a reservation for Sunday lunch the following day. We wanted to refuel after day 1 of Hadrian's Wall, we are raising money for our local hospice to purchase a cuddle bed. Staff on Saturday were friendly and it was easy to book. We returned on Sunday after our walk for lunch. We all enjoyed the beef dinner and a few of us had pudding. We had chosen this spot as the football was on, we ended up staying most the afternoon!
