Toby Carvery Blackpool in Blackpool

I use to love going to tobys carvery until it went down hill so when I knew it changed to king carvery I was excited so I went with my daughter on Monday and what a disappointment nothing has changed apart the name the same stained deco is the same the staff was friendly but the food was awful the meats was very dry not a great choice of veggies the carrots was big chunks and hard it was a big disappointment

Absolutely amazing place , top notch food & beer very very reasonable prices , very dog friendly will definitely be visiting again

Really enjoyed the food today. Had the Carvery. Been coming to this pub for years whilst on holiday and whilst it was a Toby. Saw it had changed hands and was receiving some bad reviews. We decided to make up our own minds and went today. As I went to the bar to place our order, someone else came up and asked to cancel their Carvery order as 'the food looked like it had been out ages' according to them. This didn't bode well I thought but continued with my order. So we went to get our food and I have no idea what the guy cancelling was talking about! The food looked absolutely fine, in fact it looked great!! There was Turkey, Beef and Gammon, Steak and ale pie and cheese and onion pie. Then there was mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and at least 5 different vegetables. All of it looked fresh and tasted beautiful!! The meat was to die for, hardly any fat on any of it, loads of flavour, not dry. The veggies were cooked lovely, not crunchy but not soggy, absolutely spot on. Everything was very tasty and in fact was better than the last time we went when it was a Tobys. The staff were friendly and helpful, the place was clean, all in all a great experience. We will definitley be back next year!!

Avoid at all costs. Came in expecting the food to be great but all the reviews that are high star are from previous owners/company Toby Carvery. Went into order and staff are under trained and menu isn't clear for vegetarians as it doesn't tell you what is or what isn't suitable and doesn't show allergies on the menu. Following this tried to ask a member of staff or waitress and couldn't find one. After all the confusion we got to the carvery deck. There was no labels or clear allergy list or advice near or around the food . So you didn't know what dry food your eating. Will not be returning. The meats looked and tasted dry and Yorkshire puddings was stale ,greasy and inedible. Working towards the vegetables the carrots were rock hard , and barely pierceable with a fork even though they we swimming in grease(looked like melted butter) going through to the chips they were all cold even under the heater. Following this going to the roast potato's we couldn't eat them due to it wasn't clearly stated whether they were vegetarian or not and the chef left the station and waitresses were not around. After my parted tried one suggested not to try as hard and cold in middle. Going to the condiments the gravys were full of oil and when adding vegetables the oil just made the whole dinner taste greasy. Will not come back and wouldn't recommend to people with dietary requirements or allergies.

Very disappointed. Turned up at 9.30 for breakfast (website states opens at 9am and serves buffet breakfast) only to find it closed and no note explaining this. Please don't advertise what you can't deliver!

TOBY PRICES WITHOUT THE QUALITY On Arrival we did not notice the new signage outside, and the interior had not changed much at all. However, when we were at the carvery deck, we noticed that all 3 meats looked dry, the vegetables had changed, and not for the better, let me say. The carrots were cut into thick slices, and almost raw in their consistency. And the other veg were similar, apart from the cauliflower cheese which was overcooked, and like, slop. (The cauliflower fleuret’s had collapsed into dollops of mush) The Yorkshire puddings were not the size nor of the same taste as Toby’s. The Roast potatoes were actually very nice. They have changed all the condiments, again for lesser quality and I assume cheaper versions. And the gravy, is very very watery and not thick and meaty like the Toby’s. Summing up, All I can say is that they are charging Toby prices, for a product which is inferior. Do not bother, I believe that Toby in St Anne's is still open and trading as Toby Carvery. note that all the reviews on here are for Toby carvery not king carveries !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All meat was dry Yorkshire puddings were greasy veg was dry chips and rosters was good. Service was good, if the food was ok the price would have been ok but overall we do not rate this visit

wow absolutely shocking food … tiny amount of dry meat .. cold n disgusting vegetables.. hardly any choice … AVOID

Never again! We are not from the area, last time we visited this venue it was a Toby, however we had just drove 3hrs were hungry so thought ok let's go here. Woman behind the till, was quite standoffish, food came to 29.98 but didn't have any pennies so she couldn't give us change.... ok it's only 2p don't worry. Seats were clean and tidy, paintwork a bit grubby but it's a pub...no worries Got breakfast.....no thanks...cheap food....bottom of the barrel stuff Bacon, it was so salty it tasted like they had washed it in the sea, and was so hard it was inedible. The sausages were all split open. The eggs looked they were having their own pool party there was that much oil, the beans were not very nice and the mushroom still had dirt on them. One of us asked for scrambled egg and the guy behind the food said he didn't know if it was on the menu or how to make it. I only tried the beans and a mushroom and I didn't want any more. My family said the same. So mom asked for a refund. She was given 29.98 in change, funny how the offish lady now had change lol. Would not go back there at all

Staff are friendly Edited after a visit today since the take over of King Carvery... A wonderful improvement, I don't normally enjoy the roasties, but had to stop myself coming up for seconds! Had the corned beef pie which was nostalgic and warming, the mash was also an improvement, well done 💜 We'll definitely be back now x

Had lunch here on opening day with my colleague and her daughter. The food was great, good choice of veggies and the gravy was full of flavour. We will be back soon. Well done on the reopening

Absolutely waste of money, I’d say it’s the worst carvery I’ve had ever if you like to eat shit food come here if you want to go for a proper coffee for you literally I would advise you to choose somewhere else because this is literally the worst one I’ve ever had. I’ve been to quite a few everything was soggy would’ve ordered there was no mashed potato the gravy was cold. All the food was dry. The roast potatoes are dry no atmosphere in place whatsoever overpriced rubbish.

Exact same as it was before just with a different name up, at least put some money into it rather than just serving the same terrible cold dry food

Nice food excellent service small free car park toilets 🚻 on site same as all the toby really plus a bus to take you there as well stops straight outside to take you back to the middle of blackpool no children playground at this one however fields near by to run off all the food be careful disabled toilet door can stick

Wasn't open. Went for breakfast apparently it closed down yesterday at 4pm for an unknown reason so AVOID

We rang them up about 5pm and asked what time they stopped serving food and they told us 8pm they stop serving food. We get there at 7 and then 15 minutes after we sat down we were told they were closed! Why lie? That’ll be a report to head office coming their way now.

It's a dump don't bother went 2 days on trot and no food, worth a trip over the motorway to Plum Tree Farm, facing B&Q

Absolute joke. Came here for a carvery ordered drinks and carvery and then went to wait in line. Got to the front to be told there is no mac and cheese and won't be bringing anymore out deposit then still seeming to bring out mac and cheese for other customers. Meant we had to pay for drinks we didn't want as this is the only thing my son will eat which is why we came here. Massively understaffed so staff were trying their hardest but couldn't keep up with the demand (it didn't seem particularly busy) but only 1 person on the bar and another one trying to deal with everything else on the floor.

Cuando fuimos a la cubierta Carvery, un servidor muy lento pero haciendo todo lo posible. El compañero pidió salchichas en lugar de la carcaza, eran más negras que las cenizas de mi papá. Podría haberlos usado como ladrillos. Terminé tomando un coche vegetariano muy afortunadamente ya que Turquía estaba seco como cualquier cosa. Nada de gammones fuera, un poco de carne de res arenosa que no querrías comer y cerdo que parecía de nuevo que se había sentado durante semanas bajo la lámpara de calor. La bandeja de papas asadas era literalmente negra, trataba de comerlas y no podía cortarlas. ¿El puré de papas era muy polvoriento? Nada de salsa de carne, tuve que pedir que sacaran más y esperé más de 10 minutos para que todo estuviera frío. Veg estaba todo sentado en el agua que nunca hemos tenido en ningún otro lugar. Las bebidas eran las únicas cosas buenas que eran las rellenables. ¿También se cobra mal por 2 x carveries y 2 x bebidas recargables - £ 31? Incluso los budines de Yorkshire eran extremadamente aceitosos, pero eran una de las mejores cosas servidas. No me apresuraría a volver, lo cual es una pena, ya que nos encanta un toby carvery - ni de lejos tan agradable como nuestro Lauriston Farm habitual.

Went for mother's day and had the carvery, waited 20 mins in qué to get served food, there was 2 serving when we went to stand in the que 5 mins in one (I'm guessing went off shift) left one serving. the beef and lamb were very dry, and got the smallest bits ( server cutting not sure he knew how to) partner got a bit of every meat he said gammon and turkey were ok. The veg looked dried up and tasted it to carrots, turnip (swede), actually the only things that weren't dry were the cauliflower cheese, Mac &cheese and the gravy. Yorkshire pudding tasted of grease. Also got a portion on pigs in blankets these were very hot and prob best thing out the main meal. Dessert was ok though but if you've advertised on the menu that it comes with strawberries (plural) it has to come with strawberries not 3 slices off one strawberry. I also get that it was mother's day and they were busy but seating arrangements need to reconfigured, tables were to close together the table to my right if the person moved seat back to get out from the table his chair hit our table same with table at the back of my partner's chair if person moved to get out it hit his chair. Give the servers their due they were busy and done great. Gave 2 stars for the food but that's for the dessert

Definitivamente no voy a salir de mi camino para visitar más Todys. - 0 / 10. Nunca volverá. Necesitan echar un vistazo a la cadena de pubs Stonehouse y aprender de ellos cómo se ofrece el servicio al cliente como nunca en mis 18 fe he tenido que esperar más de 1 hora para la carne en rodajas. Went to get take away for my elderly dad in hospital almost didn’t get as ovens had gone down, but they were kind enough to still do it for me, couldn’t compliment them enough for it stars ⭐️ the lot of them

Genial 4 , el desayuno era genial como de costumbre. Huevo revuelto no fue ningún problema. Todo el personal estaba contento y disfrutamos de nuestra visita. Es una gran parada en la autocaravana cuando te vas de bpool rumbo a casa.

Fuimos hoy por el coche bastante ocupado pero claramente la gente de personal corto se quejó de eso, tuvimos que esperar siglos para que el chef saliera. Went in for a carvery but wasn't pleased that there wasn't fresh meat or vegetables on offer even though we visited after 5pm in the evening... short staffed was the answer.... Went and tried their all u can eat breakfast and that wasn't bad... better than the campsite that we was staying in and was value for money 💰 even the coffee with the breakfast was decent 👌

This is the tastiest carvery I have ever been to. The food was so nice and the staff were super lovely. Been going to the caravan park near by for so long and I’m so annoyed with myself this is the first time we dined here, so pleased. The beef was stunning!

The food was cold. The Yorkshire pudding tasted of stale grease like they had been put in a deep fat fryer. There was not enough gravy and all the roast potatoes were burnt. They tasted like they had been reheated. It was a good portion and nice veg.

first time take carvery, good experience. ordered a little late in the day but got more than value for money.

was looking forward to this after 48hr shift at work and it was dreadful, fatty tough beef, had no stuffing no roasties, just mash. half tub gravy, only veg is 2 kinds of peas, no pigs in blankets. I paid £17 for this then my sticky toffee pudding was plain cake amd custard literally no sauce or sticky anywhere..I'll never order from here again.

Whilst visiting the area we decided to visit this Toby for dinner last night. It was the cleanest Toby I think I’ve been to. The food was lovely, the service was good. I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area. A credit to the Toby brand.

Hi again. You say £7.80 for unlimited drinks, nobody told us this, apart from the fact we went for a meal, and basically left early as the food was only warm and meat tough ! We were in for 1hour 1minute ! I was embarrassed taking my wife there to be honest ! We went to restaurant yesterday to ask why we had parking fine for when we ate there and a young lady at reception desk said we needed to speak to another young lady who was acting manager called Courtney ! She spoke to us and explained the parking fine would be cancelled immediately which it was ! She acted most professionally and was very courteous ! I now understand my wife apparently was shouting at staff yesterday, which is NOT the case ! She too acted most professionally and even asked to discuss the matter in private which they did outside and the matterwas resolved immediately without any raised voices or bad language - so get it right ok ! The guy who originally booked us in told us nothing about parking despite giving him our reg no., nor was anything said about unlimited drinks, and understand he no longer works there ! Im just more embarrassed about the whole situation, especially arguing with my wife ! Maybe you should chech your cametas We had a bod experience - end of ! We now know not to eat there again !!

Food was okay, place was almost empty but was still told about booking in advance. Asked for a yorkshire pudding wrap to be told they don't offer them at weekends, despite the menu saying available Monday to Saturday. The server just stated she had no idea why they weren't but she'd been told they don't at weekends. Ordered cheesy mushrooms to be told a few moments later, 'you're going to hate me we haven't got them'. Was a very average experience with average service.

Just had a carvery at Blackpool branch, using the app.Food was very good, there were 4 choices of meat and all were well cooked, the vegetables were just right, but the star of the meal was definitely the yorkshire puds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Don't let the slightly shabby outside put you off, it's worth a visit.

Always a great place to go, I personally always have the gomman on the carvery it's always cooked perfectly, rest of my family have multiple meats, even my fussy 6 year old loves it everytime we go. Foods always hot and tastes great, veg is properly cooked non of that undercooked stuff. Definitely recommend this Toby Carvery, you won't be disappointed, great atmosphere nice and chilled out. Staff are always polite and helpful.

It was AWFUL. I don't think that I could EVER have been as close to walking out of any establishment without eating most of the meal I have ordered. Even if it wasn't a very nice meal that was served by me. I'm confident that I will NEVER EVER be entering Toby Carvery Blackpool again EVER.

We came here on our way home from a family trip out. The food was delicious and filling, all the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, one even lent her own phone charger to me. At times the service was a little relaxed, but we were grateful not to be rushed. All in all it was a really lovely and friendly experience.

It wasn't as good as other Toby carvery's I've been to, the meat was very dry, they didn't have a lot of items on the menu, with the desserts, soft drinks were quite expensive.

Absolutely phenomenal team. Nothing was too much trouble and our 10 year olds said it's their favourite carvery they've ever had!

Had an amazing experiance. Food was tasty and fresh, atmosphere was fab. Definatly had an awesome time and a shoutout to Dee she was awesome, my friends also all said they enjoyed the Dee experiance at toby carvery :) will deffo be coming back again soon.

We have fabulous service today from Sean and Ollie (not sure of spelling). The food was fantastic too. We were a table of 6 adults, a toddler and a new born baby. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome and comfortable. Absolutely outstanding , highly recommend x

Food and service was great, could see though that there were only two staff members available on the floor on a Saturday which isn’t great for them but it didn’t really impact our experience and I found everyone to be lovely and helpful. Food was good and had a great selection of meats and sides. However was really let down by the women’s toilets as they weren’t clean at all both stalls available (two were out of order) had poo on the seats and we’re unusable I ended up having to use the disabled toilet. Even though the experience overall was good the toilets have put me off returning to this particular Toby carvery.

Came in for breakfast last Friday and I couldn't fault anything. The service was great and Shaun was lovely. We will definitely be back and have the carvery next time.

I went with a one4all card with my wife. Front of house service was brilliant Shaun looked after us as soon as we entered. Found us a table and sorted us out with drinks never needed to go to the bar at all. The carvery was absolutely delicious the best we have had for years. Plenty of meat choices Pork, Ham, Turkey, Beef and Lamb. All was top notch tasty and tender not to miss mentioning the lovely veg, potatoes, Gravy Etc. Would recommend the Clifton arms to anyone.. Worth trying out I'm only disappointed that I never discovered such a nice place earlier. Will be certain to visit again regularly. No problem with using my one4all as well as 25% off my first order with the Toby Carvery App. Russ the Handyman

This visit was an experience I would not want to repeat , we were greeted with a less than cheerful team leader , when we paid for our Breakfast after we were seated, we went to the buffet to select our breakfast to find that there was no bacon nor was there any eggs that you would have wanted to eat just dried up disgusting oil soaked rubbish eventually the chef made an appearance and when I asked if there would be any bacon and fresh eggs available I was greeted with in about 10 to 15 minutes this information was given with a scowl and a rude delivery. As I had already plated some sausages tomato I could see no reason to only have half a breakfast so left my plate under the heat lamps until the eggs and the bacon turned up the rest of my family did the same , in the meantime another gentleman who had just arrived and experienced the same problem again the chef made an appearance and the gentleman asked the same question and was told in the same gruff manner that it would be some time before the bacon was ready eventually some of us were able to have some breakfast, Shortly two ladies went to the buffet again to select there breakfast but by this time the same situation had occurred they stood there waiting to speak to someone regarding the missing breakfast items again the chef came out again to remove empty containers from the the hot plate they asked if they could have some breakfast and he told them that it was finish and there was no more to be had, the two ladies were taken aback and again I witnessed his disgusting attitude a few minutes later the team leader and male colleague arrived and the ladies complained of the lack of items available and reiterated what they had been told by the chef , they were told that there would be be more . By now you must be see why I’m writing this review the service in this particular establishment is less that adequate in fact down right awful, before leaving I went to the bar where the team leader and the male colleague were I told them what I experienced and what I had witnessed there reply was a sickly smile and they were sorry !!!!! Not as sorry I fancy as us that were affected by the idiot of a chef I would like also to point. Out this guy was not a youngster but a mature guy who clearly had no manners and shouldn’t have been working in close proximity with the public . It’s a shame that a good value company is at the mercy of of the few idiots that run it and in my opinion the whole staff at this particular venue ( Blackpool Toby Carvery) should be retrained . so give it a wide berth until maybe this has been done ..

We had the carvery which was lovely but right above you on the tables are a huge lampshade absolutley covered in dust and fluff! They had to shout for the carver and we were stood about 5 minutes waiting before he came out from the back

OK... so it's a tad run down as far as the decor is concerned, but the food here is fantastic. Never had a bad meal in over 30 visits. Staff are always polite and helpful. Can't go wrong with it.

We attend Toby Carvery for their breakfast. However this particular morning was much busier than usual. We noticed that a lot of foods were low in quantity for a large period of time. They ran out of white bread and had to ask if could be restocked. Otherwise it was a great experience! :)

Myself and hubby visit on a regular basis, all staff very welcoming and full of good humour. Food always hot, stomachs full on leaving everytime. It's our goto place for a carvery.
