Gynn Pub & Restaurant in Blackpool

My sister ordered mac and cheese as a main and she was given a child's portion, didnt fill her up at all and had to get more food because she was still hungry. The bottom of the bowl was full of oil and grease, like it's been cooked in the microwave, absolutely disgusting!! I ordered the soup and 'roll', I was given one piece of the very end of a roll. I had to ask for some actual roll and was then being charged £3 for extra!! We weren't given any knives with our food either, shocking service. We brought all this to the managers attention, she was very, very rude and said "can you just hurry up and pay because I've got a busy bar" we explained we were very unhappy and shouldn't be charged expensive rates for such little food or spoken to in a rude manner. She didn't care and didn't offer to bring down the price either. The only reason it's given one star is because the waitors were lovely. But I would definitely avoid going here if you want fresh food and decent portions unless you want tapas and rude staff. I'll never be going here again!

Lovely family friendly pub & restaurant..we visited here for our sons birthday while visiting Blackpool the food and staff were wonderful! I have a 6 month old baby who they brought bubbles for and sweets for my older son for his birthday!Lovely waitress who served us I didn’t catch her name but she made the experience of dining with small kids so pleasant Thanks so much! Went with my husband and Stardust[Border Terrier] last night for a few drinks and from the moment we got in we were made to feel very welcome by the staff,although it was not very busy there is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.I decided to have some food and went with the cheese and bacon burger.All I can say is wow ,what a great burger,the chips lovely,nice fresh side salad,We will definitely be going back to try some more of their fantastic food that is excellent value for money,hot,fresh and homemade,a rare find now a days! Thank you, to the staff for your excellent customer service.I wish we had somewhere like this back home in Hull!

Wow, what an amazing place to go for a meal. We were staying at The Savoy hotel, but wasn't keen on their menu. We decided to go to this pub & we were amazed at the food. It was fabulous. Both my partner & myself had the sirloin steak....cooked perfectly. Our 16yr old had the steak & ale pie...gorgeous. If you are staying in Blackpool this definately worth going to!!

Tried this pub on a Saturday lunchtime while in Blackpool and was very please that I did. I went to the bar and ordered an extra-large house burger which came with chips and salad and a pint of cider. My order was taken and after a relatively short wait the food arrived. The food seemed reasonably priced, not cheap, but not over-priced either. To my surprise the portion size genuinely, lived up to the label of 'XL' and both the burger and chips were absolutely delicious! Will certainly be visiting again, next time I'm in Blackpool.

The food here is out of this world. Honestly, I've eaten in so many places, but this has been the best The service is impeccable. The couple that run The Gynn have had it 6 years, and they have turned this friendly pub into a must go to restaurant and friendly family pub. The prices are low, the quality is exceptionally high. I highly recommend to anyone wanted proper food, not just a cheap and cheerful experience. Well done all. ❤️

Visited The Gynn while having a short break away for our Anniversary, it was our last night before leaving and how we wish we had found this place earlier. After looking at the menu and being set on what I was going to have, once we arrived and saw the specials board I changed my mind and chose something unusual for me and out of my comfort zone. When the food arrived it looked delicious and tasted better, and also a decent price. The staff were also a pleasure, welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this pub/restaurant for anyone visiting Blackpool.

A nice place to visit . A little run down and rather expensive for drinks. A sports bar with various areas. Menu was ok and reasonable. Very quiet when i visited which is a shame

Amanda and the team are amazing at The Gynn! We visit Blackpool every year and this is one of favourite places. Service is fabulous and the food is fantastic! Amanda even went out of her way to cater for a different dessert for one of our party. Food was all served together and piping hot. Great little venue!

I booked a table online to have a birthday meal with my patents later that day. After booking online I then phoned the pub to double check there was availability and check they had my booking. I was told that everything was ok. Later that day we arrived for our meal. The girl behind the bar didn't know we had booked a table. She moaned to us that she was on her own in the pub so we can't sit in the restaurant bit like we had booked because she needs to keep an eye on everyone in the pub. We were dissapointed but said ok we will sit in the pub section but then she walked us through to the restaurant section anyway????? She told us that we would have to order our drinks at the bar and then she would take our food order after at the table. Was very strange because if we can order food from the table then what's the difference from ordering drinks at the table? We went to the bar to order our drinks anyway. She then came up to our table and took our food order and said it might be a while because she is on her own. But then 5 minutes later another lady came on shift so she wasn't on her own. Another family came in for food and sat on the table next to us. The lady that had just come on shift was waiting on them and ordered their drinks from the table. We were dissapointed that we didn't have the same treatment. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience being there so I felt very uncomfortable. My mum asked if she could have a straw for her drink and was told that they don't have straws because of covid. I found this very strange because surely it's more hygienic to drink from a straw than a glass that hundreds of other people drink from? I ordered the special which was carbanora. When they brought it to the table it was a grey colour and looked like a big piece of slop in a bowel. It didn't look appetizing at all. I ate it regardless because I was hungry. My dad accidently spilt his glass of cider, the staff were good at clearing it up. However they didn't bring another glass of cider to the table like we had asked so my dad ate his meal without a drink. I was planning to have a desert but decided not to because I didn't enjoy the meal and also felt uncomfortable. We paid for our bill and the lady asked if my dad had recieved his other glass of cider and we said no. We didn't get an apology and felt like she was asking us to check the bill was right. Later that night I had bad stomach ache and sickness, I wonder why? I will definetely not be eating a meal there again. I understand that the girl was on her own at first but it was totally unprofessional treating us the way that she did. I have never tasted carbonara like that before and to be honest it's put me off every eating it again. What a dissapoinment for what was meant to be a nice birthday meal.

Walked in waited at the sign then was shouted over to the bar, asked where we would be seated and was told to find somewhere ourselves went to go into the restaurant as we was eating was told we couldn't go in there so we explained we was eating then was told rudely that there was no space! Absolutely disgusting attitude.

Visited today, took one look inside the pub and decided to sit outside...absolute scruffy hole, old worn furniture, people using the place as their own living room with all their laptops & roll ups paraphernalia spread out, another man asleep at the table, £9.20 for 2 pints of lager and a small coke!. Windows absolutely filthy, no water bowls provided for dogs..won't be going again!

We had come to Blackpool for a long weekend and met up with family. We had a toddler and dog in our party so needed somewhere that could both of these. We rang up the pub to check if it was dog friendly and booked a table for 7pm. There was obviously some confusion as they had booked us a table in the restaurant where the dog couldn't go and we couldn't go in the main bar as that part wasn't licenced for children. Eventually we were found a table. I heard lots of comments that people had had to wait over an hour for food but we were happy to wait. The lady told us food would be 45 mins to an hour. We sat down and were deciding what to have. We called someone over to ask what the pie if the day was and literally 2 mins later went to the bar to order only to be told the kitchen was closed! What an absolute joke. The place didn't smell great, the carpets were filthy and the tables sticky. My advice-don't bother.
