Met with friends on saturday for a meal at this hotel. Very disappointed, expected better of a Hilton. Was very surprised to see that the main fare was all you can eat buffet??? I ordered a sharing platter with my friend and this consisted of a couple of pieces of cheap spanish salami, a bit of parma ham rolled up, a bowl of silverskin onions and sliced gherkin, olives and a couple of pieces of cheese, pretty dire really. Others in our party ordered also from the main menu, my friends chilli was lacking in sauce....just a tremendous let down. We were hoping for something more special. Will not bother again. Oh and one of our party was wheelchair bound, only one of three lifts were working and he had to wait ages, most unacceptable.

The Hilton Blackpool is known for its excellent restaurant, however, this has now changed and it is a relic of the past. Where there used to be a carvery, of which there was a choice of three meats, there is now trays of food, along with potatoes and veg. Most of it felt out of place, such as the meatballs, with no pasta. They have a menu on the table, to tell you what is on the buffet, however, before we left, there was a lamb dish being brought out, despite not being on the menu! The restaurant has become very lacklustre in its offerings. Where is used to be one of the best places to eat in Blackpool, and one of the reasons why we stay at the Hilton, but this is now not the case.

Not bad for a late booking Sunday lunch. We had a table with a seaview which was nice. Good salad bar starter (soup was the alternative), a choice of 3 meats and trimmings, 2 curries and salmon - with 7 vegetables to help yourself to. 6 dessert choices plus a cheese board. Coffee/tea was extra. A bit pricey at £17.50 per person but with the added extras of good and not falsely friendly staff and the seaview I think it was worth it. Drinks of course are pricey because it is a hotel - so stick to the newly cleared of nasty acteria tap water. Only criticism is that I asked for a Bacardi and Coke and got a rum and coke instead - but hey all's good and no point stressing the small stuff.

There are also other food such as smoked salmon poached eggs vegetarian sausages excetera that are not on the buffet and you have to ask. The evening buffet was very nice again it's all you can eat. The food is hot and fresh. There are numerous starters there are also at least four main dishes you can choose from and also there are numerous desserts to choose from. All very nice. If you like a good Sunday Carvery then this is the place to eat. It's not cheap but worth every penny. We started off with Soup of the day then moved on to cold starters from the help yourself section. The choice at the carvery table is wonderful. The meats are cooked to perfection and the veg and the rest just compliments it all. If you have room then the dessert section again is a must as you can go up as many times as you desire for both hot and cold desserts. We then rounded it off by grabbing Coffee's and mint chocolates and sat in the lounge section for a couple of hours to unwind having as much coffee and we wanted. all for the same price. The service is second to none.If we could afford it we would eat here every Sunday.Highly recommended.

We had to get a voucher from reception to get a discount for hotel guests, making me feel like a kid at school with a token for free school meals! However, we paid £18.50 each for the buffet, there is no normal menu - just carvery buffet, it's a all you can eat which is always a bonus! Starters were soup, salad, mackerel, prawns etc. Mains were beef, meatballs, chicken in mustard and cream sauce, pasta, rice, veg etc. Desserts were profiteroles, cake and custard, apple Charlotte or fruit salad. Good service, food adequate but not outstanding! Wine very pricey with £24 being the cheapest. I would eat here again with the family x

Had good meals here previously, so decided to take some friends there. What a disappointment this time. Booked the meal a week earlier. However, when we arrived were told that no table was ready and asked to go back and wait in bar. In the restaurant the atmosphere was more like McDonalds. At the next table was a wailing infant and on the other side two ten-year old playing on flashing i-pads. Most of the tables had children, and little ones were running about. This was at 8pm. We asked to be moved to a quieter area, but were told that this wasn't possible. OK it was half-term, but hotels of this standard usually stipulate that no children are permitted in the restaurant after a certain time. We have stayed in hotels with our children, and always made sure that they were exhausted and flat out in bed by 7.30pm rather than inflict them on other diners. On booking had been told that food was no longer a carvery, but would be al a carte, which was fine by us. Then in restaurant were told that it was a 'hot buffet'. 'Lukewarm buffet' would be a better description. There was no handle on the lid of the soup urn, bread rolls were running out and the salad starters looked like they'd been sitting there a week. Bowls of sauces had no labels to indicate what they were. What we thought was bread sauce to go with the chicken turned out to be horseradish. Then a waitress said we could have had al a carte after all. They need to get their act together, and at the same time organise some staff to clear the empty tables. To be fair, on complaining we were offered a complimentary bottle of wine. The manager came over later and said we wouldn't be charged for the meals. Ten minutes later he was back, having been told we'd had complimentary wine. He gave us the option of paying for either the meals or the wine. We opted for the wine. As a result paid £20 for a bottle of wine we wouldn't otherwise have bought. On leaving the restaurant we passed a quieter area with half a dozen empty tables, set up with cutlery, wine glasses etc. Yet earlier we'd been told we couldn't be moved. As we sat in the bar at 10pm there were still mothers with prams, and small children running about. Won't be returning.

During my stay in Blackpool I ate at some nice places. This was not one. A Business colleague was staying at the Hilton and suggested we eat in the restaurant one night. So we did paying £17.50 each, when arriving we were packed in like sardines and our table was next to the service counter so I was constantly getting bumped and I later noticed soup on the back of my jacket from other guests. On the table there was a couple bottles of wine and bottles of water, with price tags around them. The wine was £15 a bottle and the water was £3.50 a bottle, given there was over 14 of us in our group I thought they included a bottle or two in the price and pay for further bottles. But no its just there for you to buy. The food was not too bad for a carvery but they ran out of Yorkshire puddings by the time the que moved up, service was slow and considering what the price was, I wish I went to a Toby carvery as this was far from what I expected for £17.50And the hotel just seemed so shabby and dated, one of the twin rooms I looked into of a colleague just looked like a cheap B&B room. Would not bother coming back, Really does not deserve the Hilton name, it needs a premier inn the take it over and refurbish it.

We booked a Blackpool holiday at the Hilton Hotel, thinking that we would treat ourselves to something extra special for a change. However we found things rather average and a bit frustrating sometimes for a Hilton Hotel. The room over looked the sea, but the window was so dirty that it spoilt what would have been a really nice view. The room was ok but no more than average. With myself having some difficulties with standing, I assumed that the hotel being the Hilton, would have a waiter service in the restaurant at breakfast time. We were shown to a table, but then the rest was all stand and queue up for our own breakfast. then queue again to make toast etc. However there was a good choice of food to pick from. The most frustrating thing about our stay was being woken up around 4:30am in the morning of our last nights stay. l thought someone was trying to get into the room. So having been woken I got out of bed to investigate and found a folded A4 paper had been pushed under the door. It turned out to be our final account bill from the hotel, that had been posted by one of the Hotel staff. When we checked out we asked if this Hilton hotel was the same company as the London Hilton etc. We were told that yes it was, but had been bought from another Hotel chain and therefore could not be run as the same as some of the other main Hiltons. So considering the price of staying at the Hilton hotel, we would prefer a smaller family run hotel any day.Kevin and Carol

Went to the Hilton for afternoon tea today with three friends, booked through Dealmonster. I was very glad we had not paid full price, in fact it wasn't even worth the half price we paid. We were in the lounge bar which had knee height tables - not very comfortable for eating. The whole place was soul-less and the food matched the atmosphere. The sandwiches were cheap sliced bread, half-filled with cheese and tomato, cucumber or salmon (or egg for the vegetarian option). One very small scone each with artificial cream which was not nice. Two small cakes each which were basically rubbery although I think they were meant to be some sort of mousse. Two large pots of tea with two very small teabags in each pot. The best thing about the afternoon was the company. If you want a decent afternoon tea, Toast in St Anne's was much better and we had a fabulous Christmas afternoon tea at Dahlia's Kitchen (Cropper Road, Blackpool) last December.

This bistro is incorporated with the Dutchman Hotel. We had been looking for a meal stop just after 4.30pm I saw on the outside menu what i fancied to eat with a kids eat free when adult purchases a Main Course meal, - cool we thought due to the budget we had left. Inside we went - nice n quiet we thought - only to be approached by a late teen early 20's waiter who said they weren't yet open. we had arrived just before the evening meal menu time but were allowed to sit in and wait the 10 or so minutes. At 5pm he came to take our order - obviously what id fancied was lunchtime meals - so did have alternative. Asked what the veg was he said carrots & brocilli I think - shall I go n check he came back with peas n sweet corn option :( and said they hadn't got potatoes only the crispy cube like chips - ok we said. but no veg on mine. lil miss asked what her drink options were as hers included a free drink n ice cream he had to think then told us. The restaurant area quickly filled up (reserved Hotel guest tables) rather noisy by then. Food cam with potatoes cubes n veg in a separate serving dish. Surprisingly it was very tasty. Lil miss had cheeseburger n chips had to ask though for sauce n vinegar. she also had chocolate ice cream. I had a mug of tea asked if sugar required and was given demorara (coffee sugar) :( Staff not up to my standards - needed more knowledge but food tasty - wouldn't in a hurry go there again - plenty more food outlets

Cucumber, cheese and smoked salmon. Two little cakes and a fruit scone each. My friend didn't like fruit scones and we asked if she could have a plain one. They had none but the lovely chap ( Peter ) serving us was very apologetic and brought us more cakes to make up for it. If it was not for his great service I don't think I would have been impressed. The hotel is probably stunning, but the catering was very below par. £18 was meant to get three courses, and based on reviews here and my taste card, I thought that would be too good to be true... It was. The soup (only stater option) was bland, and certainly the last creamy cream of tomato I've ever had. I chose the "spicy meatballs in arrabiata sauce" option as a main. I expected an Italian dish, it was served in a balti dish, with pilau basmati rice, and certainly resembled a cheap greasy curry. I got halfa ggarlic pizza bread with it, emphasising my suspicion that the chef had no idea what he was doing. Desert at least was good, cheese and biscuit. But the pannacotta was ju st like cream with some gelatin in it, dull. I'd stay there, it looked grand, but the staff were all difficult to understand, spoke in whispers, and were overly eager to take plates away, so I won't be eating there again.

This was the second time four of us had been to the Hilton for afternoon tea and must say it will be the last. It was a special treat for us all as we are all jetting off on holiday soon and will not see each other for quite a while, so we decided to treat ourselves on a Deal Monster deal. We went to the Hilton last year for the same thing and it was absolutely fantastic, that is why we decided to go again.Firstly, we were told that we couldn't have it in the dining room as it was closed, that didnt happen last time, we had a table overlooking the seafront. We sat in the bar on very low settees and were brought our tea, bit watery but drinkable followed by the most unappetising food I have ever seen. The sandwiches, grated cheese, tomato, cucmber and smoked salmon (which none of us like) were terrible, served on very dry bread. The cakes looked liked they had just been bought from the corner shop and the scones dry, cream and jam ok. My friend asked if there was any meat sandwiches and he was told that "you only get meat sandwiches if you are at the Ritz", we got them last time and tuna and put on a beautiful plata dressed with lettuce, tomato, etc., I have written a letter to the Hilton and my friend sent an email and up to now no response. So all I can say is if the Hilton want to carry on doing Deal Monster deals, go back to what they were last year.

We have had meals many times here before but on the last 2 occasions the meal has been spoilt by the main course out of all the courses available. In accordance with Tastecard's stipulation I pre-booked but on arriving the booking wasn't showing, the restaurant was empty so we were fortunate on this occasion. We requested the upper seating area and we were offered a table in the window, maybe on hindsight not the best of places as it was not the warmest spot in the restaurant for the time of year though the curtains did pull across. We started with soup which was minestrone and then the cold buffet which had a good choice of prawns, pate, cold meats, melon & salad with various dressings. The main course certainly spoilt the meal, the carvery choice was very samesy as other carvery chains of offering turkey as the main meat with gammon & lamb steaks as other meat choices, there was also fish & vegetable lasagne available. We both chose the lamb steaks as very tired of turkey, this choice was a mistake as the words "tough as old boots" certainly described them, they were very difficult to cut through & very, very chewy. My wife used the words inedible, which describes it and how these had been sent out from the kitchen beggars belief. I gave mention to the server & I decided to try the gammon instead which was so salty it brought on an indigestion attack & I had to leave the table until it had settled, I was left with a very dry taste throughout the rest of the evening & even had to get up through the night to have water. The range of desserts offered was good & both hot & cold choices were available. We finished off having tea & coffee in the lounge with cheese & biscuits. On paying & on being asked if everything was alright with the meal I again gave mention to the meats & was told that my comments would be passed onto the chef. Throughout the evening the staff were very attentive & pleasant but with there only being a few people in there was very little atmosphere. All in all not Hilton's finest hour & quite clearly some attention is needed to the one course out of all the courses offered that is cooked. Using the Tastecard it worked out at £21.90 for the 2 of us, so was good value.

I felt at home in this restaurant, the Manager very nice and meals are a reasonable price. Closes quite early though.

I like that you can help yourself, the plates could be a bit warmer and also the food. At times food would run out and you would have to wait a wee while for more.

Tried the restaurant on a deal voucher as we hadn't been for a while. Will not be going again at any cost. Our Friday evening out was a farce. As we sat down at our table I couldn't help but notice how scruffy the couple were on the opposite table, the lady (loose description) had pajama bottoms on, the rest of her and her partner were dressed very scruffy. We were dressed as what we thought was appropriate for a nice hotel restaurant, but how wrong we were. We are not snobs, but have standards of dress and think the Hilton Hotel should have like wise. The rest of the restaurant was full of shell suits and very very casual dressed guests. Then there was the food. Soup was nice, only hot dish, then there was cold buffet, not a brilliant choice, followed by the carvery. There was one carving joint (ham) the other dishes were in casserole type dishes and was served up like school dinners of old. All the food was lukewarm. Didn't fancy any of the cold desserts as they looked like they had been stood out for ages, so went for hot ... well thought it was hot. Wasn't sure what it was, so asked our waitress, she said it was apple crumble to which I replied never, she then said it was spotted dick. I said it could not have been made on the premises by a chef, but she said it had. I told her I had never tasted anything so awful and that the chef should be sacked, at this she laughed. The only item that was how it should have been was the wine at which we payed over the odds for. We took most of that with us as didn't want to sit in the environment we found ourselves in any longer. What a waste of a night.

Went for breakfast twice and drinks on and off as we were stopping just around the corner. Food took an age to come out and was mildly warm. Nice though - just cold. Drinks cheap. Service hit & miss at the bar. Some really dodgy smelly people queuing to get in at 0800. But we were in at 0800 as well so not judging at all. It's a Wetherspoons. Some better than others. This is one of the not better ones.

One of the worst food experiences in Blackpool. They charged me £15.50 for a small, burnt burger on an oversized, stale bun. It was that dry the bun fell apart like clay. I also got wings but they were burnt to the bone too. Demanded my money back and the rude bar man didn’t even argue because he looked at the food and agreed it didn’t look edible. Never eat at this place

Staff were so friendly, we came about 1pm and it was really quiet so got a seat and ordered straight away. Shared a full rotisserie chicken between two adults with some extra potatoes and gravy, a bit more expensive than two meals from burger king but worth it imo. The wait for food was about 10-15 minutes so not bad at all. Chicken was juicy and the gravy was very tasty - wish the portion of gravy was bigger but we did try to share one between two of us. Great find if you don’t want to eat a burger and chips like most other places at the park!

During our stay in Blackpool we decided to have a crack at this pub/restaurant down the road from where we were staying, after consulting their menu online and finding a variety of foods we would enjoy as a family. We arrived to a rather quiet restaurant and entered through the car park, through the pub area itself into quite a large purpose-built restaurant area. Our server was a lovely young man who was very thorough in taking our orders and offering us plenty of custom choices for the meals. I ordered sausage and mash, which was a beautiful Cumberland sausage on creamy mash with garden peas and a generous amount of gravy, and onions. It was a lovely meal, and the food the rest of my family ordered was well received also. There was not one complaint, besides the fact that we may have ordered too much garlic bread. We had an entire 12” garlic pizza bread to try and put away between us, as well as our meals. We literally didn’t want to leave anything behind. I will definitely be back again, next time I am in Blackpool, and I definitely recommend this place.

Visited the Foxhall to eat and have a couple of drinks. Reasonably priced, pub food, that we enjoyed. Debbie was great, run off her feet at the bar, but still took the time to make sure we were looked after. Great service from Debbie!
