The best restaurants serving British food in North West

was served yesterday by a lovely lad named louis who was friendly, chatty, and let us pick our own table out of a few we were offered. we had the carvery and it is always amazing- we stack our plates very high and there is always loads to choose from!! thankyou!

Visited on a Saturday night with a large group of family. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Menu is extensive with lots of choices for all dietary requirements. 3 of us had the vegan mushroom and ale pie and it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend and would go back and order it again. Fantastic! Compliments to the chef!

So dissappointed we came as a family as we had done for the last 8 weeks sorry but we won't be returning so dissappointed we arrived at 15.40 and the food we had was below average my steak was just pure fat and we sat waiting for our table to be cleared for 40 minutes not acceptable in my eyes and it wasn't as if the restaurant was busy. So so dissappointed as all our other visits had been perfect think the management have to look at who actually cooked my steak or even purchased it as it was about 3 inches in size and half of that was fat ..... whoever was actually serving especially when our table including 2 little boys sat waiting watching your staff eat their meals (yes I appreciate they have to eat) but not take the mick and to top it all I went to the loo and there was no toilet roll aaasrgh we had spent £ 162.50 you would expect more ....... so upset as my partner had just died as well life is hard

I had such a wonderful experience today at the Blacksmiths! I ordered the fish and chips, and I am still struggling to find the words to describe how flavoursome it was... other than it was truly fin-tastic! Talina provided exceptional service! She was not only friendly but also very engaging. We had a great conversation about hats, which made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of delicious food and warm hospitality. I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be returning.

The Bishop's gate is a nice relaxing place to have a meal and a drink the food is excellent and very well priced as well as the drinks and the staff are very helpful and can't do enough for you the staff we met were Tracy and lexi who were both brilliant

Rank, miserable barmaid , (young blonde , terrible coffee and the place smells filthy, used to be nice. Now it's just filthy with nothing pleasant

Appalling. Noisy. CHildren running wild around tables where people trying to eat and drink. Screaming baby, loud music, inaudibly horrid. Don't go. Won't be there again any time soon. Awful, what a shame. Used to be a lovely pub.

Friendly staff, good selection of beer and liquors and good week day discounts on food! The environment is quite lively on the weekends and only a 2 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station. Recommended for passers by and those visiting ma NBC Hester

Never been busy in here every time I've been in but the staff are great friendly and attentive will try going at a busy time just to see how it goes

This is our 2nd consecutive Sunday lunch at the Fairhaven. It was super and served by a great team. A few of us had the three meat roast, a couple had the turkey roast - all piping hot and delicious. The cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puds are delightful. The toddlers had a kids roast - perfect portions. Others had salads or burgers. Not sure we can go every week although it is reasonably priced and has a great pub restaurant atmosphere.

The food and service was great. Tasty, quick, and great value for money. Big shout out to the chef's jess and Marlon. 2nd visit while we were in blackpool. We will be back again soon.
