First time here and we will be back. Came with my father and my husband, my husband is celiac, dairy and soya intolerant too so it makes meals a challenge. The menus were clearly labelled although we did have to question if an item had dairy in it or was it that part of the side food had dairy (for example ice cream or butter) that could be left off. The waitress we had was so nice and went to ask the chef to settle our questions. Separate friar for gluten free. Dairy free ice cream. Gluten free sticky toffee pudding. My husband was elated at being able to have a fully fledged meal instead of what most places offer which is significantly less than non allergy sufferers. Bonus points for the elderflower pink fizz and with it also being dog friendly, getting to see the dogs was another highlight.

Wow this place is great for gluten free options, i am celiac so need to be extremly careful. The options here were fab.i had the gluten free fish chips with mushy peas and was the nicest fish and chips ive had in long time no ping in microwave here.

Sadly it was the anniversary of my dear partners passing and as we both enjoyed going to the Clog & Billycock many times so as it is near to the cemetery were my partner is buried I called in. The staff were very charming and looked so efficient. I have been there when Northcote owned it but the present they csn certainly match them.

Had a lovely Sunday Dinner here last week. Starters and mains for two, roast dinners were very tasty and presented well. Melt in the mouth beef! Staff were rushed off their feet as it was so busy but they made sure we were looked after.

We came here in October for our anniversary for the first time in 7 years and were delighted to see it was nice, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice etc. So we had a family meal booked here tonight. It took over an hour after the starters to get our main courses, most of which were cold or lukewarm at best. Then it took another 30 minutes after we chased them to get desserts. The whole meal took 2.5 hours and it wasn’t that busy. Not to mention that the dessert cutlery was just dumped on our table and not served. Extremely disappointed considering the visit in October was so good and we suggested it for the family meal on the back of that. It appears it’s gone backwards again, such a shame as this used to be our favourite place. The food tastes nice, but lukewarm food after over an hours wait is not pleasant. When one of our party complained and asked for a replacement we were met with “it’ll come out exactly the same”, so it seems they’re happy serving lukewarm food.

Great place for lunch. Food excellent. Served by Jen, who was very friendly, attentive & efficient. It was Friday, so quite busy, but there was a pleasant atmosphere & everyone was spread out amongst the two large dining rooms, which made it a positive experience.

Came here with friends for a birthday meal. We were pleased to see them serving Sunday lunch on the bank holiday Monday so all opted for the Roast Beef. The food was excellent as usual, especially once we got extra gravy. The only criticism is the service. We seemed to be in a blind spot as far as waitressing was concerned and had to get up a couple of times to attract their attention. This is what lost them the final star.

The food,service, and atmosphere as gone downhill, and it's supposed to be table service. They had to go to the bar on to occasions. On both occasions, the staff were stood around talking, I order the beefburger the chips looked and tasted like they had been warmed up 3 times, then sent out warm, for £16.95, it certainly wasn't worth that, the only dish that was ok was the lamb, this is the only time we all agreed not to leave a tip, we have been to the clog on many occasions , and always have had a great experience, has the clog changed hands, we all were very disappointed

The food was just okay and the service was appalling, so slow and all the staff looked like they wished they were somewhere else. Overpriced for what you got. Shame as it used to be a good place to go but won't be rushing back

Visited for the first time. There is nothing else to say other than Great Service, gorgeous food, and lovely surroundings. Lots of parking and very spacious pub. The staff were brilliant and very attentive.

Having eaten here several times in the past we were looking forward to returning taking some friends who hadn’t been there before. However, it was not a great introduction and I expect those friends won’t be back. The food, for most of us, was very good but one of our party found their meal to be dry and commented they had had better food from Macdonalds. The staff were really pleasant but the worst aspect of the evening was the service which was excruciatingly slow - our starters arrived about 30 minutes after we ordered but we then had to wait more than an hour for our main courses and by any stretch of the imagination that is not acceptable. It even took more than 15 minutes to bring a glass of wine to the table. The restaurant was very busy but no excuse was offered for the delay. They did, however, deduct our first round of drinks from the bill. Such a shame because we have always enjoyed our visits here.

Have been meaning to come a while but my first visit today. The pub is lovely, very cosy with open fire. Food menu is extensive... lots of gluten free options. We opted for the fish pie which was delicious and the crispy beef.... both cooked to perfection we ate the lot!!! Well priced and drinks reasonable.... Service made it all the better. Manager on duty was really chatty and attentive and was only his 4th day. Other young girls were equally as friendly and attentive. Wluld highly recommend. I rated this because food I thought was ok not much on the menu and £17 each for three adverage chicken burgers with some chips no coleslaw 🫣and not an option on the side and £4 for a pint of coke and we had 3 abit tasty with the pricing.won’t go again £73 for 3 of us no starters either in that but we was celebrating so I let this go this time won’t be returning in a hurry but nice inside with open fire 🔥 on a cold night

I've heard great things about The Clog & Billycock and it did not disappoint. Everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was perfect, so much so that I came back the next day for Sunday lunch! Blake has created a wonderful team who are incredibly attentive, professional and friendly. The food is exquisite, from the available options to the flavours, and the building itself is beautiful. Came for lunch today with my friend. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and offer great service. We both had the quiche with a side lid onion rings, which was incredibly tasty, we both enjoyed it. Sadly we got called away to an urgent situation so we couldn’t have more drinks or peruse the dessert menu so we will definitely be back.

Came highly recommended and to be fair the staff are great and it is a lovely pub. The food however was in my view poor. Had olives with bread and had more pieces of bread than olives....true 6 pieces of bread and 5 olives. Followed by pork and crackling, the meat was tough and the cracking was a tiny piece about half the size of my little finger.....did not live up to my expectation.

Lovely food, varied menu- didn’t feel rushed which is often the case nowadays. Friendly, helpful staff, on the ball with all allergies. A definite go-to for gluten free dining. Great option of a small dessert with a hot drink- perfect portion size for me. Nothing negative to say. Our new favourite restaurant. Well done!

What an amazing place. Went with my Sister for a coffee and we ended up having coffee and cake which was absolutely gorgeous. Well presented and very very tasty. Service was fantastic which remembered the lady who served us she definitely needs a mention. Will be back again a.s.a.p.

First visit today to celebrate Dad's 87th birthday. The welcome was very warm from Cameron, who was friendly, attentive, and great with Dad. ❤️ The food was of a very high standard, delicious, and the plates were hot, which I would have given another 🌟 for if I could! Nice touch to have a small dessert served with a coffee. The flat white and creme brulee were both delicious. And they put a candle in Dad's and sang happy birthday to him. 😃 Highly recommend it. My partner and I decided to pop in here after looking for a local pub that did lunch following taking the Tolkien Trail. As you can imagine we worked up a pretty big appetite after 7 miles! On entering, the groundskeeper, Mark was incredibly lovely and pleasant. He was jet washing and cleaning the entrance and walls. They were in immaculate condition! He was so friendly and recommended some more local walks and informed us there was a leaflet in the pub which recommended another walk by the pub itself. It really started our experience so pleasantly and put us in the loveliest of moods. On entering we were welcomed by all the staff and the manager. We were served and waited on by Charlotte who was absolutely amazing. Incredibly friendly, kind and caring. The experience was one of the loveliest I’ve had in a pub in a very long time. The food was delicious, I had the burrata and tomato salad to start with the braised lamb shoulder for my main. My partner had a butternut squash soup and some cauliflower fritters and the cheese and onion pie for his main. The food was unbelievable. I was expecting it to be good but it was definitely some of the best in-house made meals I have ever had. The gazpacho around the burrata was the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a Caprese salad or mozzarella/tomato. We had such a lovely experience and can’t wait to go back! Thank you all so much for making our first experience with you such a great one! Even though we were probably underdressed, we didn’t once feel out of place or unwelcome. Genuinely, thank you so much.

Would not go again as one of the staff was very rude. I complained about a steak sandwich which was full of gristle. He snatched the plate away, came back and said the chef said "If you want your steak well done, that's what you get". He did not apologise at all and his tone was unacceptable. The girl who was also serving us was fine and polite. The second steak sandwich was fine and so much different to the first, also a well done steak.

Lovely surroundings, great food, great service. Every meal was delicious and I can recommend the lamb. All meals, starters and puddings were cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend

When staying in Preston there were no food places around so we went a bit further to Blackburn and found this place. Cannot commend the staff enough who were always attentive to what we needed. Excellent customer service, friendly and polite. Good size portions for food. Would recommend highly to anyone visiting the area or surrounding area.

We made a late booking for lunch as we in the area and we were given a lovely table. We chose the quiche and potato salad from the light lunch menu but it was actually a generous portion. We have visited here several times and never been disappointed with the quality of the meals. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and we didn’t have to wait long to be served.
