A pleasant small pub with high quality ales, impressively decorated and decent entertainment on the Friday night I visited.

Went on belated works Christmas meal, good food and service was too .

Great selection of beers and a great night of live music on a Saturday.

Could do with some seats outdoors to enjoy the sunshine.

First time Trying The Mad Hunter South African Restaurant up above the Palatine Public House. Took my Husband for his birthday and I was not disappointed, beautiful and tasty spring rolls, smoked mussels infused in chilli for starters. I opted for the surf & Turf 5oz steak with an abundance of shelled Prawns. Hubby had a Lamb dish which was served on bread all very flavoursome. Just a little thing, it would have been nice to have had some warm water to wash fingers after peeling the Prawns but managed without. If you want something different then try here. Service Excellent very attentive and they added a little Birthday Touch at the end of the meal 😀

Went her a few times but the last time we went it had gone done big time never been back since

Disappointed that there was no real ales,the lager was good (Estrella), unfortunately my wife's wine (Pino Grigio) wasn't anything to write home about,it was ok but that's all I can say about it! The girl behind the bar was lovely, friendly and welcoming!

Girly meal with friends, the lady serving us was lovely, and the food was above my expectations. The room is a bit sparse looking, and could do with bit of sprucing up, but, we came for food, and it was excellent, and reasonably priced.

Called as google maps reckon the place had 3 or 4 real ales. Nothing could be further from the truth. Had half of lager and left.

Only popped in for a quick pint and throw a few darts, friendly bar staff but expensive drinks.

Good honest food with hearty portions. The staff were warm & friendly not to mention the price is very reasonable. Definitely will be returning. Thank you Palatine for a lovely meal

Wasn’t expecting much as we walked into the bar area but greated by a very friendly chap that explained restaurant was upstairs. Menu was great, service was fantastic and the food was amazing. We had 4 dishes and were all great our kids thorough enjoyed theirs and was very reasonably priced. Portions are massive kids could have easily shared but don’t see that as a bad thing. Pint of beer £4 which again can’t be complained about. Would definitely recommend and would visit again Thank you very much

Lovely food, lovely people and great views.

Sixth time we have been here with friends. All the good tried has been excellent and plentiful.. Take your appetite, the portions are NOT small. Well done Chef Chris and wife, Claire who is the host. We will be back soon

A brilliant night, mainly down to the talent of the singer 'Desiree', she sang a great range of song , which really got the crowd up on their feet and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Excellent!!!

We have just had the most delicious Sunday lunch in a lovely bistro room overlooking Morecambe Bay...a bit arty...lovely music and nicely satiated 👍highly recommend

Friendly manager looks after customers, good entertainment for all ages.

I went here with my friend for a quick drink before going out for dinner It looked very clean on entry and although small not cramped in any way. We were given a table straight away. From ordering a drink to it landing on the table it took three minutes. I had a large glass of house white wine (pinot grigio) and my friend  glass of coke. It cost £7 in total. There was a good atmosphere of everyone being chilled out and having a good time. If we hadn't been booked for dinner I would of been happy to spend more time there.

Visited with family, they had a local singer on who was excellent in singing a range of both old and new songs, fabulous manager who with his great bar staff really looked after us. Def worth a visit. Entertainment on at weekends from what I understand, looking forward to going again

Been coming to the paletine for years but since lockdown I can not fault the pub, there is always a staff member on the door that advise on if the pub has socially distance capacity or not. The pub is set out in tables of six that prevent you from breaking the distancing rules. Bru,Sam, Jessica, Eva & the rest of the staff delivery perfect table service also making sure table are clean & sanitary once a group has left. The paletine is one of the best pubs in morecambe in my opinion & have excelled with adhering to the covid guideline. Bru & Sam manage a fantastic pub with a good atmosphere considering the limited seating. Always a pleasure to come to a friendly pub with wonderful staff

Well, this little place is awesome, food was amazing, taste and presentation 100%,top of my list, when back in morecambe. Keep dishing up heaven!!!!!

Group of 8 of us went for dinner during the COVID-19 crisis. We had a variety of meals and drinks. The service was excellent, straight forward and clear, something of a rarity in these times. Extra measures were explained clearly and suited the space. The food was excellent, the surf and turf left one guest in utopia. Alltogether would absolutely recommend, and there is a good chance I will drive 2 hours per journey to visit here every time I have a special occasion for the rest of my life. Thanks palatine.

Went to the palatine with a friend. Booked a table & when we got to the pub everything was perfect. The table service between jess, bru & Sam was exceptional & friendly as usual the layout of the pub was set out to ensure distancing. Could not fault the amazing customer service & the atmosphere was just as brilliant. Im happy to see one of the best pubs in morecambe return from lockdown & still be popular adhering to government guidelines. Would recommend the palatine to anyone who appreciate a good pub with decent staff & a positive vibe. Thanks to jess, bru & Sam for a good night

Had Sunday lunch delivered as a treat on Easter Sunday as no eating out thanks to lockdown. Delivery was timely, food was fresh, hot and delish. Desserts were massive and very yummy. Grand service with reasonable and affordable prices.

Beautiful food and lovely service. We were quite a big group but everything was lovely. It was quite busy but that didn’t affect the service. Music was playing downstairs, don’t know if that is usual. ( party)

Had delicious sunday lunch yesterday

This pub receives amazing reviews and probably justified. The cask beer choice is Lancaster blonde and I believe a second beer is usually available. The blonde was on fine form but for all the push on food it is not available every night and this is not clear on the website, therefore a very disappointed traveller and don't let it happen to you!!

Happily come to the pally on a sunday as their is always live music, sam & bru are friendly with good banter! definitely a pub not to miss out on

I went to 18 North on my birthday. It was absolutely excellent. Each dish was obviously well crafted and later we met the Chef, who by the way has won many awards. Highly recommended. Was staying in Morecambe for the weekend and this pub came recommended. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon but I enjoyed a couple of pints of Lancaster Blonde in this clean and comfortable pub overlooking the seafront.

This used to be a great little pub. Last time we visited Morecambe we found it was dirty with totally uninterested staff. In fact one barmaid was sat with her head on the bar, looked like she was catching up on her sleep! Maybe she could catch up on the cleaning if she had nothing better to do?

we just went for a drink not impressed by the choice of cask ales .. felt grubby and dark -- not a great range at the bar really - No feel good factor lack any atmosphere given its on the front and a busy saturday elsewhere ..no reason to come back or to stay for a meal .. just didnt cut it

Great food at 18North @ Palatine thats relaxed fine dining but also well priced. Fusion between British, French and Japanese cuisine. Friendly staff and views across the bay. Don’t go anywhere else to eat in Morecambe?

Husband and I went for dinner. The food was fantastic (quite rich, the portions are modest, left feeling happily full), the wine list was compact but balanced, the service was quiet and helpful (just as it should be imo) and the ambience of the smallish dining area was perfect. We were given a window seat which meant sunset views across the bay to accompany the meal. We wondered along to the Midland for a post dinner cocktail too. Can’t ask for more on a night out in Morecambe! Highly recommended.

The restaurant upstairs was taken over by a professional chef in Spring 2019. It is now called 18 Degrees North. We have been there twice and are pretty impressed. Modern fine dining menu, well cooked and presented and with great wait-service from different staff members on each occasion. It lives up to its claim of using only fresh ingredients. It puts the Palatine into a different category for eating out, no more pizza/burgers/chip pub grub offers. A little noisy after 9pm on music nights from the downstairs bar but well worth the visit.

Not sure this is the right place to put this review but the wife too me to the upstairs restaurant for my birthday in July. It was spectacular. I don't think I've ever had such lovely food. Well done to all. And what a view!

Thought we would give this place a go. If it could just Step up a couple of notches it has the chance of being something good. Food was not bad but what let it down was every thing else around it. The cutlery is really cheap and nasty. Salt and pepper like it’s a chip shop diner, white wine from the wine cooler was not cool and then just left on your table to open and pour yourself. Just needs front of house training to up the standard as you are serving good food and a higher end price, but not giving the extras and service around it to that price point yet. Good luck and keep going though as the process is going in the right direction.

We dropped in on a Thursday night and had a truly remarkable meal with lovely view over the bay at sunset. Excellent host.

We read the reviews of 18 North @ The Palatine and were exited to try it.

I took my husband here for Fathers Day, we have been here several times in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, there is a new chef working there now. The portion sizes are very small, but presented very nicely. It reminds me of the posh restaurants you go to and eat 8 courses (all small ones). The beef was covering all the other foods on the plate, and it wasn't a big piece of beef. The views are fantastic over the bay. We actually had to go somewhere else to eat, as we left still hungry.

Only been the one time seem to be ok

Went to the new restaurant 18 degrees north was not disappointed had a lovely lunch. Staff very helpful and food excellent. Two course meal was a good price and the drinks were very reasonable. Looking forward the the super club later in the year.

Superb ! A gem of a treat in Morecambe

Impromptu visit for dinner. Very noisy from pub downstairs. Not the place to go for a quiet, romantic meal. Portion size small but excellent quality good. If you want to come out full you need all three courses. Unlike to visit again.

It was a pleasant experience, friendly staff and good service. It was clean and welcoming. The only negative thing I found was the karaoke in the other bar on the premises, but I'm unsure if this is a regular event as we went on a Saturday night. We sat in the in the main (quieter lounge). I was impressed with the range of ales and the general ambience in the main lounge. The tables were nicely laid out and the toilets clean. I would go again when next in the area.

It was our first year anniversary and we wanted to celebrate in a special way. We were not disappointed. We visited the recently opened restaurant up stairs, 18North, for a special supper night and both me and my wife throughly enjoyed every course. It was a great setting and the food was a mix of delicious, complex flavours and superbly fresh tasting ingredients.

Recently visited the new restaurant 18 North. They are trying to make a fine dining restaurant in Morecambe. If you are hungry please don't go. As nobody in our party of six was impressed with the food especially the lack of it.

The restaurant upstairs was recommended to us by a local. We were very glad we took their advice. Food is very reasonably priced for the quality of it. I started with a delicious duck spring roll. It was lightly spiced with lots of flavour. The steak main course was perfectly cooked. My husband really enjoyed his pork and the garlic mustard pesto was the highlight. If we are in the area we will visit again. We were lucky to get a table (with a sea view) without booking. If you really want to go I would suggest booking as it does get busy.

Food and drinks *Update * the upstairs restaurant has now been taken over and is called 18 north@the palatine ben is the chef and what a great job he's doing an upmarket menu is just what is required for Morecambe it's just getting better and better wonderful changing menu using the finest ingredients in the area making it the Must place to eat in the area

There was a young singer on the night we went. She had a very good voice but her backing tape was very loud!!! Also when she went on a break the music played was really loud too. Drinks pricey.

A good welcome which was a fine start. It went downhill from there. My starter arrived in a considerably smaller dish than that of others who had ordered the same and wasn't exactly inspiring. My steak, although looking overdone, was lovely. Seared and charred on the outside, medium within. The presentation met with expectation but when the server disappeared we had to help ourselves to steak knives. The etiquette of waiting until the last person has finished is lost on the waiting staff also. After a period of time when the final plate was removed, we were told that we could not have dessert or even coffee as food was not served after 9.00 and the chef had left. Apparently it takes a qualified chef to cut a gateau and put the kettle on. If that is the policy they should make it clear from the outset when group booking are made.

Great place has bands artists on friendly staff

Due to high rating on Tripadvisor we went in. Average pub, not a massive choice of Cask. Not many people in. Perhaps we went at the wrong time. Nothing wrong with the place yet no reason to rush back.

Called in for drink on Friday night as we have heard good reports about this bar, bar staff are friendly and courteous and the bar is well stocked, but what put my wife off the place was a group of lads sat around a table effing and blinding at each other, which seemed to be acceptable to the staff, bad language doesn’t usually bother us but as it was only about 7.00 we could see them getting louder so we drank up and left, having said that it could have been a one off

Visit regularly. Events on all week and a gorgeous pub. All staff are lovely and welcoming. We'll done Bru.

Enjoyable fish and chip lunch. The portions were huge! Made the mistake of having the hummous and pita starter, at least TWO pitas in there! Bit cold to sit on the prom and eat out of newspaper, so settled in the bay window with a terrific view of Morecambe Bay and Cumbria in the backdrop. Nothing too much trouble for the staff.

Staff are friendly, but only 2 cask beers available on our visit and the pub is in some need of new decor, it looks a shadow of its former self.

We popped in to the Palatine bar for lunch, we had done so once before and loved the pizzas on that occasion, once again we all (4) had pizzas and again they were fabulous, one member of our party remarked it was probably the best he had ever tasted, high praise indeed.

Eating area upstairs. Food nice staff friendly. All our family enjoyed our evening .
