We are staying at Oceans Edge, and was looking forward to having a meal here, but having read all the reviews that refer to the parking, we thought twice about risking the huge fine! It's such a shame that the owners and staff do not make people aware of this, I'm sure the reviews would be a lot better... and you probably would gain more trade 🙄 PEOPLE please be aware and don't get caught out like the others did!

I was impressed by the atmosphere, and the delicious food. The food was amazing and the staff was lovely. They were very attentive and took care of us very well. I had a steak pie with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy. I also had a sticky toffee pudding for desert. Honestly the best food I have had in a while. The pub was clean and large enough so that you could find a quite spot. The food was reasonably priced. Definitely would visit again.

Very friendly and attentive staff, full bar and comfortable restaurant, especially for viewing sports. The pizza and fish & chips were very good with generous portions. The prices were very reasonable for drinks and food. On site parking and short distance to the ferry terminal.

Food was really lovely from ordering to the table it was like 20 minutes. Ordered the rib eye steak and was cooked to perfection 👌. Would definitely recommend and would return again when in the area.

The minted lamb pie was stuffed full of meat. It was delicious.

Called in for tea. Ordered our food, ham, egg, chips and peas, and lamb and mint pie, chips, peas and gravy. A glass of merlot and a j2o. All for £25. Meals were on the table in ten minutes, lots of it and cooked well. Plenty of notices about putting your car reg in the machine on the bar to validate you parking there.

Had to come back to shore for a couple of days and decided to watch some football, this was the first place we came across. Didn't eat here but food and prices seemed decent. Ideal for watching sports on the big screens and TVs. Lovely pint and well priced. Staff and locals were all friendly. Enjoyed it here

Was once a great pub but now lost its soul.

This place used to be amazing unfortunately my most recent visit wasn't the best, they have shrunk the menu to half an A4 sheet of paper, there were no steaks or mixed grill available so i had the fish chips and garden peas, the chips were limp and barely warm like what you get from a takeaway not good quality at all the fish was mushy and tasteless crispy batter is the only plus i can give it the peas were the best item on the plate and speaking of plate they are to small and make you feel cramped on a plus note the beer was cold!!!!!

Nice little pub served by a lovely girl who was very friendly and helpful. Food was reasonably priced and drinks were reasonable too.

Went on holiday and then I went to the pub where ocean Egde and then I walk into the pub and after I came out I was blushed

Completely empty at lunchtime. Cheap drinks. Didn't eat. Nice stop before the ferry, girlie that served us was nice. Dog friendly too.

Went for a meal. Ni service mondays and Tuesdays so just had a drink and left.

Food microwave meals but cheap price. Staff good

First pub ive ever been to where you have to put in your vehicle registration they give you 20 minutes for free to do so otherwise your charged ,but put in you reg and you get 24hrs free parking... Didn't eat here but it's definitely super warm on a cold frosty afternoon

Great visit. We stopped in for dinner before catching the ferry from Heysham. I would definitely visit this pub again if I were in the area. The pub is very large, but warm and welcoming. They welcome families and dogs, but the pub is big enough for people to still find a quiet place. We took 2 dogs with us. The food was very good, and exceptional value. The menu looked simple, but each selection had options - pie of the day was a choice of 3. The staff were kind and very pleasant. We felt very welcome in the relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Ordered two jacket potatoes. Very tasteless No hot drinks served. Worst of all a long hair in the salad. Grudging apology and the dishes removed. Not asked if we would have liked anything else, which naturally - we didn't.

DONT GO,,To all those that are staying at Oceans Edge, DONT GO RIP OFF, hope this get through to people staying at Ocean's Edge, Stayed at Oceans Edge, drove to Morcombe, called in the Duke on our way back for Sunday lunch, they wasn't serving so had a couple of drinks, got home to a £100 fine for parking in the pubs car park, rip off, to me they don't need to serve food when they get £100 s time for you parking in the car park, Been InTouch with the Duke to remove the fine, they couldn't do anything because i have already payed it haha what a joke, going to post this every day, hope it works as well as your parking 👍👍🤣🤣

What a lovely pub. Called in today with my elderly mum for a meal. The two girls behind the bar were lovely and friendly. Mum can't eat much so they very kindly let her have a child's meal. We both had fish and chips...yummy...really good. The locals were also very friendly. We are going back tomorrow as we are staying close by for a few days....highly recommend this pub. 👌

holidaying at Ocean's Edge, went to Morcombe, on the way back call for for food, wasnt serving had drinks instead, didnt tell us about the car park charge, fined £100, Expensive Drinks

Nothing special, not amazing but not bad either. Ok for a cheap n cheerful meal with friends. Wouldn't rush back.

Can't recommend this pub highly enough, absolutely brilliant atmosphere,staff are really really friendly,cheap beer,wide choice,and the food! 100% I had pie chips and peas with gravy,it was like a desperate Dan pie,and extremely tasty,if your going to the Isle of Man this pub is less than 5 min walk to boarding station,will defo be back.

I've gone from 5 star to 2.beer garden is a big mess.1 young lass behind the bar trying her best to serve everyone on a bank holiday .been going down hill for a while

Atmosphere alittle noisy, had regulars near our table who were noisy. Just wanted a Sunday afternoon to relax. However, this wasn't too much trouble.

Lovely little pub, very hospitable. We arrived about 9 on Saturday and the kitchen was closed so the owner brought us a fresh plate of turkey sandwiches without charging us! Thanks, will definitely call in again!

Disgusting public house after I received a parking fine for calling in for a drink with friends no visible sign s saying you need to book in and staff knowing very well never mentioned it to me, won't be giving my money to this establishment again, plus visiting Mens toilet where a young male was taking drugs which probably gives you an idea of the clientele, I will, be fighting this fine, another way for this pub to make money out of honest people

Pleasant place for a beverage. It wasnt too busy when we popped by for a quick pint, before heading home. The food looked and smelled good too - although, we didn't have enough time to stay for food.

we called here for lunch with the family service was quite good, we ordered three adult meals and a child's meal with drinks £46, The food was served fairly quickly and was good quality and good portion. The only thing I didn't like was you have to book your car registration in a terminal at the bar if you don't you or forget you will receive a parking fine

We stopped there for a meal it was a warm evening so we sat outside the food was good plain and simple the way we like it, the service from the young lady was friendly and excellent

Nice place for a meal or just a drink big pub small car park clean and pleasant atmosphere we used the pub when we were staying at a nearby caravan park so is handy for that.

Called in here on last day of holiday, wow its beautiful food and reasonably priced and the portions are spot on for us fattys, if we stay at the campsite again this will be our food place, only thing was a bit off putting but it is pub the regulars swearing heads off when kids around, but wouldn't put us off going 😋

8 of us came here for dinner when we were staying at ocean edge holiday park. The food was very tasty and portion sizes great. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Pleasant pub. Food quite nice and reasonably priced.

Birthday visit for some lunch and a drink. Very pleasant greeting from the girl tending the bar. Chicken curry with rice or chips (offered choice of various type of curry eg tikka, balti) and fish, chips and peas £19.90. Good size portions and was delicious. It's an all day menu with lots of varied choice. Something to suit everyone plus a kids menu. Open from 12pm. Definitely recommend this place. Great service, pleasant surrounding, good prices. What's not to like. Drop in if you're in the area.

My Bev, Connor our Lab, and myself had spent a very pleasant week at the nearby Ocean Edge Caravan Park, but for our last evening decided to go out for our evening meal, hence our visit to this lovely Pub. On our arrival we seated ourselves in the Dining Area, situated in a slightly raised area overlooking the Bar Area. The two young ladies serving the drinks, and also taking the food orders were very friendly. polite and helpful. Bev chose the home made Steak Pie, and I chose the Hunters Chicken. Both were well cooked and delicious, and good value for money. The Chef approached us during our meals to ask how we were enjoying the food, which was a nice added touch to our visit. There was a reasonable selection of alcoholic drinks available, and at a reasonable price also. The Interior reminded us of many of the Pubs that come under of this type of establishment. Clean, tidy and welcoming. Toilets were clean and well maintained, and there was enough space to park your car in the large Car park. Overall a very enjoyable evening. BevandFras.

Only went in for a pint but it looked lovely inside, we stayed in the large beer garden with the dogs as the weather was good.

We all had good food at a good price. Staff was great! The pub was clean as well. I'll definitely be a returning customer.

Turned up at around midday as we were waiting for the ferry. The pub only just opened. Walked in with a group of 16. All you could smell when you walked in was bleach. Not the best start. A few others from the group ordered meals along with other patrons in the pub. Around 20 minutes in to our visit, there was a cry from the kitchen to say no more food orders for a while! Understandable but a worry for busy times if they can’t cope with being busy. I went to the bar around 1230 to be told I couldn’t order with the rest of my group. I wasn’t even approached later to be told they were accepting food orders again. Worst l place I’ve been in a long time

Refurbished pub looks great.. missing decent staff very rude!! Need to do something about the children's park that's been taken away

My wife and I popped in for a drink, left the car in the pub car park. We were in the pub just over half an hour. 10 days later I received a fine through the post for £100.00. Surely this cannot be good for business. Future patrons beware.

What a lovley little pub had the steak pie and chips which was really nice and the prices wernt bad . The staff wer really nice would definitely recommend.

We paid several visits to this establishment while staying at a nearby caravan park. A small but varied menu including a beautiful Sunday lunch. Average price of around £10 per meal. Friendly staff. Sports bar. Dog friendly.

Parked at this mediocre pub, did not think it would warrant having a payment car park! had drinks at bar and were told the food can be 'ordered' in an hour, there is one person in kitchen, we declined and went elsewhere. A BIG SHOCK today we were fined £100 for not registering /paying parking. No staff ever mentioned this on ordering drinks or food? Wasted our time

Lovely and clean, not an extensive menu but something for everyone, really well priced. I had pie of day and it was delicious, full of meat and really tasty, cheaper than my usual eatery in Lancaster but much nicer! we were walking but i notice parking eye run the car park...dont forget to give reg to the bar staff or they will sting you with a fine!!

Just had lunch here as we were at Ocean Edge holiday park. The place was spotlessly clean and the food was very good and reasonable. I would def recommend trying this place rather than the overpriced and undercooked food at the restaurant on Ocean Edge holiday park

We had a lovely meal at the Duke of Rothesay, we had Hunters Chicken it was so nice complement the Chef on it. Last week received a £60 penalty fine, so rang the pub told the lady we had put our car reg into the screen on the bar, so the lady I spoke to said she would sort it out for me and true to her word she did. Thank you.

Only popped in for a pint. Food that was being served looked nice and the pub is dog friendly

The staff were friendly but the food wasn't good. No beef, no hot drinks. You were asked at the bar what meat you wanted and they would shout you over when it was ready. We went to get our meal and the meat was cold, the vegetables were soaking in warm water. No flavour at all. The turkey had no flavour. The ham was okay as were the Yorshlre pudding (all be it tiny. ) I ate all my meal as I was starving but won,t be going back for a Sunday Dinner.

Speaking from a chef's point of view , me and my husband have been in today and the food was absolutely gorgeous, I had garlic mushrooms for starter and my husband had the wings of fire , followed by us both having Gammon. Now I'm very particular about how my eggs are cooked and what they look like and they was absolutely spot on! Even made a point of telling the bar maid who also was very polite. Would definitely recommend. Basic menu , cheap food but very good value for money.

We have called in here whilst stopping at Ocean edge caravan park. Food is great, value for money , lots of variety And good beer too. ***Please remember to book your car in if it’s on the car park. The terminal is at the bar And it won’t cost a penny in fines providing you book on. *** Great menu , hot food hot cold food cold, prices great, staff very friendly. They were slightly busy but the wait was worth it . We will call again next time we are passing

Popped in to this pub whilst waiting for the ferry to Douglas. Friendly landlord, bar staff and locals. Me and my dog were made to feel welcome, and the Thatchers Gold and Guinness were excellent. I will definitely return to this pub en route to the I.O.M. in future, however, I will time it better so I can stay longer.

Very pleased went for evening meal, home made pie and chips, very happy. Also visited for Sunday lunch, would recommend. Choice of 3 meats, pork turkey and ham, help yourself to vegetables which included roast and mashed potato's cabbage, cauliflower carrots and peas. In our opinion well worth a visit.

Found this lovely place on here. Was a little put off with the lower stars although upon reading the reviews this has lower ratings due to the car park fines from people’s comments. I would like to note upon entering this lovely local pub/restaurant we were immediately greeted by lovely staff members and straight away was asked if we arrived in a vehicle as they needed to register the number plate. Therefore, personally those comments should be removed. It is also very clearly sign posted in various areas around the pub that the car park is private. The atmosphere was fantastic, very friendly owners and staff. Extremely polite and helpful. The food was amazing. The portion sizes were tremendous. We are currently staying at Ocean edge holiday park, though we wouldn’t eat on site due their poor hygiene. This little pub/ restaurant was exceptionally spotless even at the most busiest time. I would definitely recommend, to which I have been doing already to other people staying on the holiday park. We are returning tonight for our evening meal. Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've just received a parking fine for parking on the pub car park when eating there. The signs ( if any ) wasn't clearly displayed nor was I advised when entering the pub to register my car. I certainly will not be visiting again 😡😡😡

Was greated with a very friendly welcome from the bar staff, she immediately asked if I had parked in the car park due to it being privately run. I had seen on their Google reviews about the parking fines & it is great to see the staff are consciously warning their customers about the fines. To all the Karen's whinging about the fines 'READ THE RUDDY SIGNS, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!'

Staff friendly, had to ask about parking. Food was below average, the Hunters chicken was very oily and the fish and chips, fish was mushy and tasteless and the chips were mostly undercooked

To be fair our first visit was great . The food was brilliant . Really pleasant staff its a lovely pub . Could do with a dart board and a pool table though . Then our second visit .. cued up to order food for about ten mins. To be told no food orders being taken coz the chef is a hour behind on food. Disappointed hope ur staff crisis is short lived coz the pub could be a little gold mine.

Went for a meal . Staff saw 5 of us walk in pick up menus. Only when we went to order the food did they tell us they had stopped taking orders for food . It was 5.30 on a weds. Hardly anyone in the place and no one eating .
