Greese is the word!!! The wettest and limpets greesiest chips I've ever had. The fat also needs changing.

Lovely staff who made me feel welcome for the brief time I waited for my cod and chips. Really appreciated on a day where I was a long way from home. Tucked down the side street you might miss this and parking was a challenge. But definitely worth the visit

Lots of chippies in Morecambe but we prefer to go to the tother chippy in carnforth, great fish and chips at a price I have found can't be beaten spot on

I called yesterday evening for tea. The fish was swimming in grease and having been in the trade ourselves your fat needed changing as the batter was dark and extremely dark done. Unedible. The chips were full of bits. We won't be calling again.

FYR Grill food amazing great burgers and stakes breakfast in the morning large variety management great and staff but had a watter on the first night offer us olives and bread wile we waited none came and missed the mac and cheese off the order. Second night different watter he was amazing very good at his job and looked after us very well and we're rewarded according

I walked into this chippy and wasn’t even acknowledged for 10 minuites- a man walked in after 10 minuites and his order was taken immediately- I said excuse me to the blonde lady behind the counter and she ignored me. I walked right out and got food from somewhere else where my Existance was acknowledged. Never coming back here again.

Second time I went food not as good as time before. Mushy peas cold n a little hard fish greasy and chips not great. Really disappointed as I was taking it to a resident I used to look after.

Women serving wasn't interested the chips were greasy and the black pudding I had was disgusting the batter was made with old oil as it was a dark brown colour awful place

We got 2 fish one portion of chips and mushy peas the fish was beautiful the chips were too the peas were nice , all of that for just over 10 pounds , brilliant, value for money, would definitely recommend this chippy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been to this fab chippy a few times over the years after doing a bit of fishing Food is always very good and freshly cooked to order the staff always friendly and chatty. Highly recomended It was reasonably quiet when I called this time 12.30 on a Thursday afternoon

In the area and just called in. Fish was freshly cooked, chips and mushy peas just right. Good value too.

Called in at t'other chippy on the recommendation of my daughter who lives in Carnforth. We found the staff to be friendly, polite and cheerful. We got the impression the staff there very much cared about the service they were giving. The shop was clean and bright and had a steady trickle of clients, that we assumed were locals (always a good sign). The prices were very reasonable and the food was pretty tasty - on balance as good as anywhere we'd been before and better than quite a few others. All in all a good experience.

On holiday in the area and decided to go to the chippy. It was a huge order and the staff was brilliant. Friendly and the food was fresh and hot. Loved it

We love this chippy in Carnforth but our recent visit last wednesday the food we purchased was not of the same quality. Very disappointing. Hope this will be rectified on our next visit otherwise we will have to find somewhere else. Fish overcooked and chips were definately warm ups and over done.

Friendly welcome, traditional chip shop menu. Good quality fish nicely cooked. Plenty of chips also cooked well

I don't often eat Fish and Chips as my Takeaway go to, but we had a treat night as a family. We had the full monty , Fish, Chips, Peas and Curry Sauce. To be honest there was no left overs! The service was friendly and welcoming. Yes we had to wait a little, but not too long! I've seen people que around the corner before, and I understand why. It's fresh food cooked to order so it does take a little time. I'll be really honest. It won hands down re value for money and taste. Not one scrap of left overs from my hungry crew. Check it out! Perfect!

Fantastic chippy. Their chips taste just the way chips should. Proper texture---enough squidgy to crunch ratio. And the fat on the chips also tastes great, not over used or underused. Perfect.

Wasn’t exactly the best thing I’ve eaten, curry sauce was cold, chips were too salty and the bun was on its way out and was hard/crusty. Wouldn't visit any time soon

Went in ordered quite a big order went home I don’t just live around the corner they missed fish chips peas and gravy they do not answer the phone to resolve it fuming

went last night, wanting a quick tea plus other chippies were shut so after a previous experience tried this chippy again...wish I had saved my money !! the fish was 'swimming' in grease and tasteless, not lovely big flakes of fish, was more like a 'flat' fish cooked in grease batter... even the peas were too watery and tasteless. A sign was put up saying' Sorry...no fish' yet a member of the staff stated there were 5/6 fish left ...customers left as there were no fish ..... Would not go back....I threw the meal out for the birds and its still here now !! Other 2 chippies, hurry and open PLEASE

This is the place to come if you want real fish and chips. Like the good old days, with scraps and a plastic fork, you will not be disappointed when visiting.

Staying in the area for a family getaway, ordered and paid, no issues. Member of staff serving told us that everything was correct and in our bag, after being reminded about two sausages that were ordered but werent seen to be done. Were reassured that the order was complete. We got back to our accommodation and missing from our order was the 2 sausages, portion of chips, and a carton of curry sauce. Granted, we should have checked ourselves but when a member of staff tells us twice that it’s all in the bag, you kinda just take their word for it. Highly disappointing and the only negative blotch on what has otherwise been a fab few days in the area. Likely to go elsewhere next time.

RUDE staff, unreliable opening hours, and they shout at their customers.

My teen wanted feeding, right away, as they do, so we went to Tother chip shop at 7.20 on a Tuesday evening. There were two people already waiting, and before we could order we were joined by another customer, a local,. We were from Worcestershire! The two women behind the counter only then announced WE'RE CLOSED. When the local pointed out the website said they were open until 8pm, (this was probably referring to just eat or similar) the two shouted at us in unison WE HAVENT GOT A WEBSITE. If they are generally this rude to customers, they won't have a business, either.

Fish was fine as it had just been done. However chips were soggy and greasy as they had been left hanging around too long. Will not go again.

Google says open until 8pm. We arrived at 7:10pm on Wednesday and the place was closed. Disappointing! We'd love to have reviewed the food bud didn't get the chance. Please update Google (it's not difficult) or stay open until the time advertised.

disgusting chips covered in grease also fish straight from fryer onto 3 lots of paper to soak the grease up , I chucked the lot in bin ,service not the best as old women losing it if order changed or added to ,Wont be going again

Fantastic food, fantastic prices - don't know how they do it. Best chips ever. Everything looked good, chicken nuggets looked great and obviously very popular with the locals.

Sorry I wasn't at the chippy as it was closed I was across the road doing my washing (annual event) in the laundry however I can say from past experience that they do do a nice portion of fish and chips and hopefully when life gets back to normal I'll be able to pop over for a chip barm whilst my socks etc are being washed

Have visited twice, the food was ok the first time.. We went again and stood for 4 -5 minutes whilst the owner just blanked us, never even said hello and chatted with the only other customer in the shop. So i walked out. Highfield has great service so go there now.

We often use this chip shop for our lunch whilst at work, always a warm welcome and food is great....

Called here out of convenience really as closer than our usual (very busy and very expensive) nearby alternative. Wow! So glad we did! Its been a long long time since I have tasted such delicious chips. My partner commented on how delicious the mushy peas and haddock was also. Really good value for money and decent portion sizes. Don't change what you are doing owners because it is absolutely delicious and we will be back!

Starving, we called here a few weeks ago after playing golf near Kendal. Arrived just as they were closing but the 2 ladies opened up for us and cooked fish and chips fresh. The food was lovely and the 2 ladies very friendly. Would definitely recommend and will call back soon. Michael Liverpool

I came across this chip shop when passing by. It was a great find, and the extensive menu made me have to ponder for a while about what I wanted to order. I purchased my food and drove down to the beach to eat them. Perfect food, then topped up by a eating it at a great location.

Stopped here, had seen the sign on numerous occasions, and thought ...just another chippie. So one lunchtime went in and ordered two small portions of chips, and must say wish i had ordered a larger portion We really enjoyed them and will be going back for more, and will def. try their fish too...don't let a few bad reviews put you off.

Just been to T'other Chippy ordered 4 fish of some description, totally and utterly bland agreed by all 4 of us, although the salt and vinegar was quite nice the oil slick from the batter was on par with the oil spill from the Torre Canyon !

Labelled as ‘fish ‘ on the menu so could have been anything, always best to ask as I’m not a fan of tilapia or pollock. Asked for large cod and chips,got a curt ‘it’s haddock ‘ back. Ok, if the cod’s not good I guess that’ll do. Chips ok, fish ok, customer service ok.

Staying at Pine Lake and decided to try a local chippy. We all ordered a different dish and everyone was happy. Fed 3 of us for less than £11, so not bad at all!

Called in to this Chippy early Friday evening ordered stake & kidney pudding with chips and peas. Twice. Got back to the narrow boat which was a short walk away, Put the food out on plates, the peas where cold, The pudding were warm just, and I can only discribe the chips as being yesterday's leftover scraps, crunchy bits of chip's not impressed. Won't be visiting again,

Friendly, good value, great fish and chips!

Stopped off on the way home from the lakes. Great fish and chips and a reasonable price to, cooked the fish specially for me as it was near closing time. Nice chatty lady behind the counter, when I said where i was from she knew the place as she'd not long been for a holiday to my town.

Really good value for money and the staff are very friendly. Good sized portions, give them a try you won't be disappointed. They thoroughly deserve all the customers they can get.

Just popped in for a portion of Chips, which were of decent quality and the size of the portion was really good. And they were cheaper than the Chippy in the village, which is an other plus. I will be trying more items from the menu, peas, fish puddings and gravy making this my Chippy of choice from now on. Give it a go and see what you think.

Travelling on the canal. Planned to arrive at canal turn for 12.00 Tuesday 27/3/18 for fish n chip lunch. Found not to be open. No sign in the window explaining why. Should have been open at 11.45. No lights on, the range not even heating up, nobody the. Went around the corner to North Rd, less than 100 metres away. They were open and enjoyed immensly. Thing was, thete were about 4 couples with families who did the same as me. Terry

The chips were slightly under cooked and the fish look quite small although I didn’t buy one. Glad I didn’t. Better chippys in the area

You get a good sized portion of decent chips here, cooked well and not soggy! The sausage was good and the curry was a nice mildly spiced one with a nice medium consistency, exactly what I want from a chip shop curry. Fair prices and pleasant staff.
