Old Hall Farm in Cheshire West and Chester

Carvery was freezing cold, roast potatoes were rock hard, even the gravy was cold. No excuse as the place was full and a queue for the carvery, so turnover in the food should have meant it was hot. Will not be visiting again in a hurry.

Excellent service, great tasting food, quick service and very helpful. Will definitely be back. Warm welcome from all staff.

We were a party of 4 and we each chose the carvery. We were very pleased we did ad Aaron who served the carvery was very welcoming and is a credit to the company. Nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel very welcome and very relaxed. Thank you, we will be back as the carvery was lovely and good value for money.

All of the staff ensured that the gluten free person in our party was safely served. All the food was served quickly and hot. The drinks were also served in a timely manner. The carvery was lovely too.

A most enjoyable experience. It was my first time at this place and i definitely will be going back. There is plenty of parking spaces, the service was quick and my meal was lovely. The staff are very helpful and polite. A very warm welcome feeling.

Not a good experience. I was emailed a discount voucher but was not allowed to use it. Apparently you cannot use a voucher when eating with big groups, despite the fact that I was only ordering for 2 people and was placing the order at the bar myself!!

Good food, great service. Comfortable and nice atmosphere, but coffee machine not working so only had instant coffee (no thanks). Good value for money.

Cold chips hot chocolate was like hot water

Generally good , but had a few occasions now where we were waiting for some meats for the roast and then had to wait ages for the gravy to come out.This is for the carvery on a Sunday

Food was lukewarm meat was dried out and very tough especially the beef roast potatoes were awful the only thing that was hot was the gravy my grandson was still hungry so had to order extra chips for him I did inform management he replied he would pass that information onto the head chef ?? Wasn’t the solution I wanted but lesson learned won’t be going again.

My daughter disappointed with her sirlion steak. Quality is awful. The garnishing make you lost your appetite.

Went on a Wednesday early doors 12oclock , four of us me and my brother both had a cowboy burger is wife had a veggie sandwich and my partner had a jacket potato.no problems with burgers but should not ask you if you want extras with them onion rings £3pound for three the lady's went the bar no table orders one said yes one no if you are putting them on the menu put them on ,not as extras. Over all fine I live in Liverpool the price of the drinks I thought is rather expensive for a run of the mill pub That is only my opinion.

Food very poor, chips hard, overcooked and cold, pie very overcooked and dry and pastry hard ! Very disappointed!

If you like eating food at different times to the rest of the people on your table it's the plane for you the food itself is good

Nice place, nice staff, nice food, at a good price.

Not often I search out a place to write a bad review but felt the need this time. Went to the bar to order some food after looking at what was a fairly decent menu and ordered 2 sausage & mash with some drinks. One of the staff then cake to us about 5 minutes later. They had run out of Cumberland sausage but offered us the sausage from the child menu. Opted for the gammon egg & chips only for the same staff member to appear and say they had no gammon either. He then told us they had no fish or pie either. Some both ended up with scampi. Just find it ridiculous that a place of this size had 4 of the staples out of stock on a Tuesday evening at 7pm.

This Pub/Restaurant looks really welcoming from the outside. We stopped here for our evening meal on our way home from shopping. We found a table and ordered our meals but one option was unavailable so we ordered another meal. We waited about half an hour and our meals arrived. My Husbands meal was warm, my meal was cold, the gravy had a skin on it, the only meal that was hot was the Lasagne. The young woman serving the meals apologised, she changed the chips and gravy only, the peas were stone cold and the pie was barely warm! If all of the meals had have been served hot, our experience here would have been positive and most enjoyable! How hard is it to serve a hot meal and how does the kitchen staff think that it is acceptable to serve cold food, would they be happy to be served a cold meal; I think not! Going out for a meal is a luxury these days; this was a waste of good money, so disappointing! The restaurant itself has a lovely, relaxing, friendly atmosphere.

Old hall farm is a great place to eat out and relax with friends and family after a hard day! The price of the food is affordable and can’t be beaten anywhere else. Me and my friends came here for a birthday meal and had an amazing time. Shout out to chef Aaron for his enthusiasm and dedication when serving at the carvery. Would definitely recommend this place and come back myself

Easy to book the table and time no issue at all upon our visit was greeted at the door nice touch. Shown to our table and asked if we had any food intolerance. Ordered food and drinks was informed when to go get the carvery due to other mains coming to the table so we all could eat together. Start to finish no problem and no issue lovely meal

What happened yesterday waited 30mins had to go elsewhere

This was our first visit to the old hall farm, it won't be our last. The premises is well presented, clean and well lit, the staff are welcoming and friendly, the choice of food and drink is plentiful with well known top brands available. The food (carvery) was freshly prepared and hot, the chef who served us was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and well cooked. To summarise, I highly recommend the old hall farm, it is a perfect location for a quiet meal which also caters for larger parties.

The food came out quick an so nice absolutely phenomenal quality food I have to say after all a carvery an mixed grill me and my dad will be back was a great place to eat an all-round super 500* place. Highly recommend! Whenever we are in the area we always ensure we visit Dan and his team! The food is always fantastic quality for a very reasonable price. The staff are always friendly and attentive in particular Lauren who always goes the extra mile to ensure that we are well looked after! A brilliant place for the whole family!

We love this pub. Great for Sunday lunch. With options other than carvery if wished. Really family friendly with kids play area/activity area inside and out and good range of options for little ones. Staff are always super helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble no matter how busy they are. Fantastic value for money.

Old hall farm ellesmere port around 4th August. Me an 2 friends called in after outlet village shopping. I got starter garlic mushrooms, the sauce was so bitter I couldn't eat them, it tasted like strong vinegar or mustard, couldn't taste the mushrooms or garlic flavour. Seriously Garlic mushrooms, how can you get it so wrong. My friend got vegetarian option, the slab of cheese was very very cold, like it had been in the chiller. She couldn't eat it. We got steak pie, omg the chips where disgusting, like the oil was off, then I noticed other tables, were everyone else had left their chips untouched. I have never complained bout chips before, but disgusting. Both steak pies wer burnt, the steak like charcoal and the crust so try it crumbled.our friend was treating us to the meal for our birthdays, so we was embarrassed to complain, plus she is shy. When I got home she phoned me to apologise as the food was awful. The 1 star was for the employees who where very nice, and the place did have a warm atmosphere when we arrived. I'm sorry for leaving a negative review, but the food was appalling. We will not return, time and money was waisted. I could never recommend this place to eat. But there is lots of positive reviews.

Went for lunch on a Saturday at 12pm and had a carvery each and a dessert. Alyssa, our waitress was friendly and polite and the guy serving the carvery was awesome. Food was great, as usual and we got 30% off our mains which was a lovely added bonus. Highly recommended as one of the best carvers in the area.

No frills but perfectly adequate for a casual meal out. Only complaint really is that the coffee machine is rarely in use. They say it’s broken but I’m a fairly regular visitor here and I have heard this nearly every time I’ve been there (over a 2 year period visiting every 1 - 2 months). Simply not good enough. This issue needs sorting permanently.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. My partner had to wait a little while for his meal so the manager compensated with a free drink from the bar. My partner was very impressed with the gesture. We call in most Sundays for lunch, we never book a table but the staff always manage to fit us in, the food is really nice, but on the odd occasion it was a little cold, the staff are really helpful and pleasant, and the atmosphere is good, probably one of the best Sunday lunch, and we have tried a lot of places, keep up the good work old hall farm.

On entering The Old Hall Farm Restaurant you could feel the welcoming atmosphere. It was spacious and airy with lots of seats to choose from. Whether it be inside,in the conservatory or al fresco! Reece welcomed us & asked us if there was any particular place we would like to sit,we said no so he showed us to an empty table. He was extremely attentive telling us that we could down load the app to place our order or order at the bar. We sat down & chose what we wanted and ordered at the bar. We didn’t have to wait too long before our meals arrived. Reece came over to us a couple of times,asking if everything was okay and did we need anything. After the delicious meal our plates were swiftly taken away and Reece then asked if we wanted any dessert. On refusing this(we were both full),we were ready to go. Reece asked if we wouldn’t mind giving a review and he handed us a card with details on. All in all a very pleasant experience and Reece was a charming,attentive guy. Well done.

Carvery was cooked to perfection, nothing was dry, servers were lovely and prompt. I knocked it down 1 star purely due to the state of the chairs, 1 leather chair had a rip in the seat cushion exposining the foam and the other had no support so you sank into the seat.

We are not from around this area. We went to the Blue Planet Aquarium and stopped in when we were hungry. We had a lovely carvery, not your typical one. The meat was fantastic, and so was everything else.
