Great food, good selection of beer. Service is a little slow so be prepared to wait at the bar.

Really helpful staff who couldn’t do enough to help. We shared some starters and they were lovely. Can’t fault the place.

Had lunch there on Sunday. Order the Sunday lunch bap. It arrived on bread. When asked why was told rudely you asked for brown so that is bread not a bap. The food was lovely but service wasn't great. If we had been told we would have changed our mind.

We have just left Rain Bar and are so impressed with our experience that I’m writing this review straight away! We didn’t reserve a table which was a mistake as they were fully booked by Bridgewater Hall attendees. When we asked for a table James was unbelievably helpful, above and beyond. He walked the floor looking to see if an opportunity for a table might be possible. luckily for us he found a couple that had already had their meal and were willing to share their table. Our drinks and meal came very quickly, the food was excellent and the attentive but subtle service was outstanding. The lady that attended to us, didn’t get her name sorry, was also a delight, her interest felt genuine despite I imagine a huge number of customers she was attending to. Thank you to James and the young lady for taking care of us and making us feel so welcome!

Pleasant pub just outside the centre. Nice warm and welcoming environment, we didn't try the food but the beer is good and the prices are normal for Manchester. Friendly and helpful staff who let you taste the beer to choose the one you like best

Absolutely amazing venue who saved our day! We had another venue booked which got flooded during the bad rain last week, we were only told a day before our event that it had been flooded and therefore cancelled. After a mad panic and ringing around various places, we got onto the phone with Alex (the manager) who was nothing but super friendly and helpful. Not only managed to give us the space upstairs for our event but also managed to cover last minute catering and to our staff on. Just amazing all round. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful on the evening, nothing was too much and always checking in with me to check everything was ok and we were all enjoying the night. Thank you ,thank you, thank you! I will definitely be booking here again for any celebration we have. Room was absolutely beautiful

Fabuloso servicio del equipo de Rainbar de principio a fin. Vinimos con un gran grupo de 25 + para cenar en Nochevieja. Eran súper comunicativos, tomaron nuestro pre-pedido y nombres y en la noche hizo la experiencia para mí como el organizador de la fiesta sin problemas. comida fabulosa, servicio maravilloso, personal muy amable. Esa es la forma de hacerlo Rainbar. Volveremos.

good venue for a works xmas party

A great afternoon/evening spent in the Rain Bar. Alex and his staff are the best. All the staff at the Rain Bar work so hard and are all so pleasant. A special mention to the very lovely Ellie, who looked after us so well. Thank you also to Chris and Cornellia. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere is so lovely. Alex and his team really do go above and beyond. Highly recommended. See you all again soon. Xx

Used the function room upstairs and it was perfect. Thanks for moving our party there as downstairs was absolutely packed. Great bartenders helped make it a fantastic afternoon/early evening. Highly Recommended!

My friend and i been there on weekend everything was amazing the waiters was a young cheerful girl. Chef was really friendly and the food was gorgeous we orders messy chips honey fried Hallumi and salt pepper squid which was really nice we had ordered hot sauce and chef checked us to be make sure we are okey🔥😂we had lovely time

Ambiance of Rain Bar is unmatched the outdoor area is so lovely Good quality food but small plates are indeed small portions. Got the 3 for £20 deal thinking it would fill me up it didn’t 😭maybe I’ll try a burger next time! Lovely staff, very clean I think it’s still worth the price

We arrived as the kitchen was about to close, but they immediately found us a table and made us sit inside (we have an 11 month old daughter)! What can I say? Excellent food and served quickly (we took fish & chips and pie), very kind staff and a very characteristic atmosphere of the place! Handsome!!! 5 stars well deserved!!!

In Manchester on business and the Rain Bar is close to the hotel. From start to finish it was a really great experience. The food was lovely and portions very generous but what sold it was the staff working there and the service they provided. Very friendly and attentive as well as making some good recommendations on the beers available. Pretty quiet on a Wednesday evening but just right for the solo traveller.

Tuvimos una nuestra función de boda en Rain Bar y fue absolutamente increíble, el personal era tan servicial y amable, en particular Alex y ursula, nada era demasiado y nos cuidaron a nosotros y a nuestro invitado tan bien. Tuvimos un buffet y canapés y todos dijeron lo buena que era la comida. Muy recomendable! Gracias de nuevo

Fabulous bar, lovely location, excellent food

Popped in for lunch. Decent pub grub, if somewhat pricier than your standard pub. Having said that we both enjoyed our meal (seabass and gammon) , and I liked the interesting beer choices in offer. Good service too.

Great bar in Manchester. Was in the private room upstairs for Rob & Steve's wedding party! Fabulous space. Shame the balcony didn't have any cover as it rained quite a bit. This could have been a 5 star review but unfortunately the guy with the glasses who was serving upstairs was so miserable and clearly didn't want to be there. This was not just my observation but also noted by quite a few friends. Put a smile on your face mate of work back of house!

It was lovely, nice food however I could say that for a jug of gravy chips and a beef sandwich £11 is probably abot over priced.

Great staff! I have some severe allergies and the staff really went above and beyond for us! The portions were on the bigger size, and the steak a bit undercooked, but overall really nice experience!

Great outdoor area right on the canal spread out so you can have a chat with no distractions.

Lovely place. Staff friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, 4 of us all had the mixed dishes, 3 for £19.95 and they were great, generous helpings too.

It's a good Pub to go to, canal view and very friendly staff, we haven't tried the food unfortunately we had some before reaching the Rain bar, but we saw the plates being distributed and the menu item's looked just right. We lived it

Fantastic, just one thing missing, banksy art on the external white wall

I have been to Rain bar a number of times over the years. Wonderful outdoor garden (perfect for summer and even outdoor heating during the colder times of year). Always a great atmosphere, with a great pint of Guinness. Not too expensive either.

Excellent Saturday afternoon sat outside in the sunshine with friends; lovely setting, great food and bar service

Nice pub but the food is awful same frozen stuff as spoons for double the price and half the amount

Despite the name, was very dry and sunny, with a lovely outside area. Good for Summer after work drinks. Large selection of beers, always recommend the seasonal JW Lees selection!

It has definitely been consistent; food is and has always been great and the team know what they are doing. The disappointing parts were the, not very good coffee. The espresso was like a filter coffee (it filled the tiny cup and was flat, no crema) and we didn't hear the machine (we were near) and even though there is a New Zealand Sauvignon, it wasn't a Marlborough and it showed. We will just have to up to the Chablis instead, but at £35 a bottle, it is their high-end bottle. We will be back, as usual.

Had a pleasant hour here last night on the way to the Bridgewater Hall which is close by. Spacious, comfortable bar with excellent attentive and friendly staff and an acceptable gin selection! Only downside were the two starters we had as a snack which were small, tasteless and therefore overpriced! Maybe the kitchen was having an off night!

Very nice bar, the staff don't seem happy 🤣 but they do a good cup of tea for the designated driver

I visited this establishment for the first time yesterday and was quite impressed. It is certainly one of the finest pubs in Manchester, particularly on a sunny day. The food was excellent, and I sampled the Manchester Lager for the first time, which was quite enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was very positive.

First visit to this bar. Nice atmosphere, but like all gastro pubs, the drinks were far more expensive than a less trendy location

Was so busy when we arrived - we had booked a table thankfully - cannot fault the service or food - highly recommed

Easy 5 star, across the board. Look at the size of that piece of fish. This was the MPA battered fish and chips. I was warned it was big when I order the large serve. But I am near bursting now. I had a MPA beer with it. This wasn't as cold as I'd like, but a minor issue, it was a good beer.

Cheery staff, excellent pint of Lees bitter enjoyed in the sun by the canal.

I haven't been here in years. But I stopped in for a quick bite at lunchtime and was very impressed with both the food and service.

I am disabled, but, not too old for a modern bar and found this place very modern with excellent service with very pleasant and polite staff , with ramps to get to the different levels outside, with plenty of tables and seating , inside and out, and of course a well maintained disabled toilet ! Will be visiting again !! Thank you Rain Bar for a very nice afternoon

Quiet at lunch but good service with proper portions of delicious of food for a table of 9 of us. They pour a nice guinness as well

Pre theatre pub food and wine. Excellent service and loved the cheese and onion pie! Will definitely visit again.
