We arrived as the kitchen was about to close, but they immediately found us a table and made us sit inside (we have an 11 month old daughter)! What can I say? Excellent food and served quickly (we took fish & chips and pie), very kind staff and a very characteristic atmosphere of the place! Handsome!!! 5 stars well deserved!!!

In Manchester on business and the Rain Bar is close to the hotel. From start to finish it was a really great experience. The food was lovely and portions very generous but what sold it was the staff working there and the service they provided. Very friendly and attentive as well as making some good recommendations on the beers available. Pretty quiet on a Wednesday evening but just right for the solo traveller.

We recently celebrated our wedding party at The Rain Bar in Manchester, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! Throughout the planning Alex and the team made us feel incredibly supported. The whole team were very flexible and attentive throughout, and during the evening they were on hand to make sure everything went off without an hitch. We were fortunate to have great weather, which allowed us to make full use of the outdoor terrace. It provided a great backdrop for our celebration and created a wonderful atmosphere for our guests to enjoy. The food was another highlight! The spread was fantastic, with a variety of options that catered to everyone’s taste. Our guests were very complimentary about the quality, quantity and variety. If you're looking for a venue for your event, I wholeheartedly recommend The Rain Bar. Alex and his team are dedicated and committed. Thank you very much!

Great bar in Manchester. Was in the private room upstairs for Rob & Steve's wedding party! Fabulous space. Shame the balcony didn't have any cover as it rained quite a bit. This could have been a 5 star review but unfortunately the guy with the glasses who was serving upstairs was so miserable and clearly didn't want to be there. This was not just my observation but also noted by quite a few friends. Put a smile on your face mate of work back of house!

It has definitely been consistent; food is and has always been great and the team know what they are doing. The disappointing parts were the, not very good coffee. The espresso was like a filter coffee (it filled the tiny cup and was flat, no crema) and we didn't hear the machine (we were near) and even though there is a New Zealand Sauvignon, it wasn't a Marlborough and it showed. We will just have to up to the Chablis instead, but at £35 a bottle, it is their high-end bottle. We will be back, as usual.

We received an email on 12/05/24 promoting the new menu. The sharing plates looked really good. We checked the website, the updated menu was on view and food was being served until 20:00 on Sundays. Therefore, on returning to Manchester by train that day after a family visit, we set off to walk to Rain Bar from Piccadilly Station. Partway there the heavens opened and we started to get soaked through. We kept going though, as the new menu looked so tempting. We arrived at Rain Bar around 18:30, managed to find a table and ordered a couple of drinks. There were no food menus on any tables, and when we asked at the bar what food was available we were told they'd stopped serving food. Needless to say, we finished our drinks and went over the way to Society, where we had some great food. A wasted journey and a soaking. Very poor, if you're going to promote a new menu, make sure it's available when advertised.

Very nice place in the centre of MCR. Unfortunately I have to consider food no good as we expected for being a traditional kitchen. We had fish and chips, with fish soggy in the oil, chips uncooked and a baked lemon (why not fresh???). They don't have a local beer in the restaurant menu, but they have foreign drinks such as Italian beer, south Africa red wine (???) and so on. I was forced to have Pinot Grigio Rosé (What's that??? We don't serve it now ere here in IT) and was not good, tasted like gasoline. I drunk it just because it was very expensive for being so awful, I wanted to forget. My ears were in pain for the music inside, they have the best musician in the world but they don't recognize and appreciate them at all. By the way, staff was very gentle and professional and they make a discount on the bill. Greetings.

Can not give a good review because I was not allowed in, perfectly sober, well dressed but the bouncer thought I was straight so therefore gave me some rubbish about single entry not allowed. Discrimination laws work both ways and I will be taking it further. Just for your information I am a gay guy who just happens to be straight acting. With the smoking ban coming these pubs will loose 12% of trade but this obviously does not bother them.
