From check in to leaving everything spot on.. Lovely staff in bar.. The route upstairs into hotel was nicely furnished, as we're the rooms. We had a twin. Compact but not cramped. Beds comfy with nice pillows and bedding. Bathroom lovely. Great shower and lovely towels.. There was tea, coffee, milk, kettle etc in room. Cartons of orange juice too. Cerials, fruit, cakes, breads, jams and butter laid out in the entry room. Coffee machine too.. Bottled water and milk in the fridges there. Nice crockery too. We were back late, after a concert.. There is a side entrance as bar is shut. Ideal location as station, metro and taxis just across the road. Will definately use again.

This pub is an excellent joint at the edge of the gay village. They’re very supportive of all types, me and my mates went in for a quick appletini and to be fair, after a long discussion, they convinced me that the Inch’s was the same. The music choice was excellent, nothing but What’s the Story Morning Glory, and the decor was simply delicious, I just wish I could read. I imagine the atmosphere in the day is fine. They pour an excellent pint.

In Manchester for a Ross Noble show at the 02 Apollo and we needed an overnight in the area. The Bull's Head seemed to fit the bill. To be fair, it is in a great location, right over the road from Picadilly Station, 10 minutes walk from the Arndale Centre and about 15 minutes from the Apollo. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed a pre show drink in the traditional bar downstairs. You take pot luck whether you get a double room or a twin and we were slightly disappointed that we had a twin. The room was OK, reasonable size, small en suite with a decent shower ( no plug for the wash basin, however. Awkward.) Tea and coffee making stuff in the room too. If you stayed longer than a night or two you'd find the lack of anywhere to hang your clothes a problem. Overnight was not great - neither of us slept well because of outside lights filtering in, traffic and train noise, and an annoying emergency light casting a greenish glow on everything. I found the pillows a bit lumpy. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet affair of toast, cereal, croissants, tea and coffee which you have to take to your room, but there's no space to eat it other than sitting on the bed. Not ideal. So. If you want a cheap and friendly overnight in a good location the Bull's Head would be fine, but don't expect anything amazing. You get what you pay for.

Was apprehensive as it’s a pub B&B. However from the moment we walked through the door we were blown away with the warm welcome and very pleasant lady on the bar who checked us in. Only a few rooms but ours was suitable for our needs, just overnight before flight on holiday. To be right next to Piccadilly station it was quiet and very easy accessible from station. Quite a few steps with heavy luggage but only two flights so not that bad. Didn’t try the included breakfast as left early hours for flight but the set up looked amazing. This is a gem as cracking price in relation to airport hotels and only 3 mins from station and about 10 to airport

We were going to the England game at Old Trafford and got the train to Piccadilly. This accommodation was rooms above a pub but the location is absolutely perfect for the station. The room was clean and quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is a small buffet on the landing which you had to take back to your room. I think the price was a bit high but the location really is worth it if you're just staying a night or two and want to be near the station.

I arrived for my first time ever to stay at the bulls head. Directly opposite picadilly train station it was perfect for a business event. I was a little intimidated when I walked in as the football match was on and I found myself in a bar packed with approx 20p drinking men. The lady behind the bar took me upstairs to a little double room at the front with an ensuite bathroom, explained about getting out of the building and breakfast and went back to the bar. On first glance I was a little dissapointed and thought, oh dear where am I, but on closer inspection it was a good little find. The room was immaculate, sheets clean and good selection of tea and coffee. Fresh milk available from the buffet area and fresh orange and water available. The room was beautifully warm and despite being on the front the glazing was good and soundproof. The shower was fabulous. Hot and with good water flow. The negatives were , the television was fitted to a wall stand in poor condition so couldn't be moved for better viewing, the bathroom tiling grout was black. Obviously we'll scrubbed but could do with a good bleach, the entrance from the hotel to the street was down a fire exit. Not very clean littered with cigarette ends and I had to squash past a bicycle . Positives, a comfortable sleep, a good clean rookm ,an excellant buffet breakfast, really excellant, and a friendly wave from the staff as I left.

We always visit here at the end of the Manchester Pride Parade as the location is very close to the end of the parade route, and we always have a great time! This year the parade was cancelled but we decided to go to the Bulls Head as normal out of tradition but also to support the business. We were made to feel very unwelcome and as we left one member of staff actually shouted "We're only letting regulars in from now on". Not what we expected when we made a special trip to support their business!

We were in Manchester for a training course, and in the evening wandered around different venues for our evening meal, on the last night we went into this pub and asked if the kitchen was still open, the girl behind the bar said it was closed for the evening, so we were going to move on to a different venue, just at that the landlady of the establishment came from nowhere and said that if we wanted a meal she would open the kitchen back up, well I am glad we opted to have a meal, I had the house special curry and boy it was good, my wife had the scampi and the plate was full, certainly no issues on that side of things. This pub is a must for people that are in this part of town, good food at proper prices and made with a pasion to bring people back. My only negative is the fact we were in Manchester for four nights and had not been to this establishment earlier.

Pensándolo bien, no estoy tan seguro. Came here after it was recommended by a 'local'. We were staying in a nearby hotel and wanted to get out, walking in I felt I had walked in to the Rovers Return, it was very... 'local' despite being a stones throw from the station. Well, we got a drink from a distinctly frosty barmaid and sat down. Two of us then ordered food from a much more pleasant barman. Nothing fancy - a burger and Gammon steak. I had the gammon and I must say that it was the best gammon steak I have ever had, The meal was faultless. All in all if you can avoid the barmaid (and the reason the service is marked as poor) the food is definitely worth it. Either that or demand to be served by the barman.

Very nice place in the centre of MCR. Unfortunately I have to consider food no good as we expected for being a traditional kitchen. We had fish and chips, with fish soggy in the oil, chips uncooked and a baked lemon (why not fresh???). They don't have a local beer in the restaurant menu, but they have foreign drinks such as Italian beer, south Africa red wine (???) and so on. I was forced to have Pinot Grigio Rosé (What's that??? We don't serve it now ere here in IT) and was not good, tasted like gasoline. I drunk it just because it was very expensive for being so awful, I wanted to forget. My ears were in pain for the music inside, they have the best musician in the world but they don't recognize and appreciate them at all. By the way, staff was very gentle and professional and they make a discount on the bill. Greetings.

After getting off the train in Manchester before meeting other friends before a flight to Riga we called into this nice old traditional pub for a drink and a bite to eat in the centre of the city. I had the chicken and bacon club sandwich on baguette with chips at £9.50 with an alcoholic drink which was plentiful and delicious on this lunchtime special.

Can not give a good review because I was not allowed in, perfectly sober, well dressed but the bouncer thought I was straight so therefore gave me some rubbish about single entry not allowed. Discrimination laws work both ways and I will be taking it further. Just for your information I am a gay guy who just happens to be straight acting. With the smoking ban coming these pubs will loose 12% of trade but this obviously does not bother them.
