What a great find! Went for lunch for the first time today and loved it. Really relaxed atmosphere and a great menu selection. I opted for the piripiri chicken kebab and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection! I would highly recommend and will most definitely be visiting again

Sunday roast was on point. Table for 19 delivered

Great meal, great service. Booked a few weeks ago as there were 19 of us. Really friendly and accommodating over the phone. Roast was absolutely amazing, as was the service. Definitely returning soon, and thoroughly reccomend!!

Absolutely 5 star service. From walking in and sitting down to having a drink order delivered less than 10 minutes. We had the new ‘Tiki’ menu and there were so many interesting items we probably ordered enough starters for 6!people even though the prices were reasonable for two. Blown away is the description, we’ve eaten all over the place but have never had the ‘fairground ride of your life’ with such innovative and exciting tastes. Well worth more than one visit, I’d mention a particular member of staff but to be honest they’re all on the ball..

Had Sunday dinner with 3 friends food was first class We were on a table down stairs , so did not see the staff much had to go to bar for drinks are self, other than that would highly recommend .

If you are looking for somewhere to hold a Wake after a funeral, look no further. We had an excellent experience the staff were very helpful and the buffet we chose was delicious. We didn’t feel rushed and everyone who attended was satisfied.

My wife and I called in for lunch on a Wednesday, this was my first visit and although we had not made a reservation on this occasion we were offered a table for two. It soon became apparent that this is a very popular restaurant as the number of diners soon increased considerably, I would suggest booking a table in advance if at all possible We were politely greeted by a very amenable and smartly presented young lady member of staff. This set the tone of what was to be a most enjoyable experience. It would appear that the building has recently been renovated to a very high standard, the decor was most enchanting, a fusion of art decor and modernist, sharp yet comfortable, and the the premises were cleaned to a very high standard. Extensive lunch time menu with additional specials card. All food arrived promptly, hot and beautifully presented. My wife and I both commented on the high standard of presentation of the food, somebody in the kitchen obviously has very high standards and an artistic flair, we were most impressed. I had the black pudding with poached egg as a starter, whilst my wife chose the chilli prawns, the flavours! - the standard continued I chose the cheese pie as a main course, my wife the steak frites - decent portion size I had a cappuccino whilst my wife chose an almond tart with ice cream for dessert. Including drinks the bill came to about £75. Outstanding effort by both kitchen and front of house staff. Would recommend without hesitation - wonderful and relaxing ambience for an outstanding meal Look forward to our next visit to try other dishes on the menu, will invite our adult children to share our experience, I'm sure they will be just as impressed.

New rules: for the boys it is compulsory to wear one of those basic "Represent" hoodies from now on. And compulsory face filler for the girls. (I don't make the rules up).

5 stars nothing to fault… Love a burger sat in the beer garden in summer, nice restaurant, has parking, excellent service.

Called in for a drink after a choir rehearsal . It was 10pm , we ordered drinks & once served we were advised that they were closing at 10:30pm . Still we thought we’ve got 30 minutes . 10:10 pm last orders were rung & the music turned off . 10:25pm the staff started to turn off lights . We were made to feel uncomfortable & unwanted . Recent experiences have definitely not been the same friendly atmosphere we’ve experienced in the past . Think twice before going there for a drink because we won’t be back anytime soon !

Had a meal at the Victoria Inn in Heaton, Bolton. I enjoyed the California sandwich with fries, and my partner liked the peri chicken kebab. We shared the chocolate fudge cake for dessert, which was nice. The atmosphere was pleasant, though there were some long waits between service, and we had to get the dessert menu ourselves. Overall, it was a decent experience with some room for improvement in the service.

Went for the Sunday roast today. Called a day ahead to get the table. When we got there we were offered an outside table, ane with the lovely weather it was a no brainer! I had beef and chicken, and my friend had the chicken.It was one of the best roasts I have had! Paid £52 for the 2 roasts, and a Guinness and a glass of wine, very good value for money! The best food in Bolton !(that I have had)

Just had 2 great fillet steaks cooked to perfection. Food reasonably priced, beer a bit on the expensive side. All in all, great meal, ambient restaurant. Will return

Chose to meet colleagues for a meeting on a Tuesday Lunch time to be asked halfway through the meeting if we would move outside (it was 11c with no heaters on). The owner continued with a sour face to explain that it was prime lunch time and we were taking up a table-which we were not told anything whatsoever upon arrival. We were sat on a coffee table drinking coffee. We found her manner very rude and very surprising given the state of the industry these days. Once a regular customer now no more.

Very poor service - had to get up and ask for initial and subsequent drinks, over an hour before food order was taken (after we asked to order) staff a little shirty because we asked! The food was good , drinks ok but very expensive.

We all had an amazing time, celebrating our sons 30th birthday. Food was exceptional. Wine .. Red and white was beautiful. Very special thanks to nina for looking after us all so well.

Food and beers are good but sadly they don’t show the Formula One.

We visited on Wednesday night, it was absolutely brilliant, the guy that served us couldn’t have done more to help us and we had a great laugh with him too, the food was amazing as always. Never disappoints 👌

Pre ordered bbq brisket burger but what we actually got was a normal mince meat burger and was told by the staff that "I had actually got somebody else's burger" when a normal burger is not even on the menu but as they were unable to provide a brisket burger they would give us brisket chips instead. For anyone that is un aware what brisket chips are they are fries cooked within an inch of their life with brisket meat flakes sprinkled on top with 2 onion rings on top. Won't be going again! Save your money and go to Mc'ds.

Arrived at 13.30 ordered at 14.00 but our food only came at 15.30. The waiter was told to bring a bowl of soup out with the main meal so the other 9 didn't have to wait to eat, but he didn't. They then used that as an excuse why the main meals was so long in coming. Then when we finished a waitress came over to tell us we have ten mins to vacate the table as we have used our slot. Edited after being contacted by the manager who was great and looked into the matter . She was very understanding and gave us a £90 refund

I went for lunch with a friend. The food was good and a good portion. The service however needs improvement. We were taken to a table without any sort of greeting. The table was pointed out. We were asked about drinks before we had taken our coats off. Our bottle of wine was plonked on the table unopened. We had to ask to have our plates cleared. All basic stuff really. A smile at the start would help.

We go fairly frequently to Fanny’s as we live nearby. The food tonight was excellent - it seems to get better at every visit! It was Friday so pretty busy but the staff were fabulous - friendly and very helpful. The starters were brought out within 15-20 of ordering. The garlic mushrooms were the best I’ve had in a pub and the garlic prawns were wonderful ( apologies to friends and family tomorrow!). I thoroughly recommend this pub for its excellent food and fabulous atmosphere.

Visited here as a group of 4 for lunch, menu choices were really good with a nice specials menu. The real ale is always good and kept well, we enjoyed a couple of pints of white rat. We each had a main course and they were delicious, served fresh and hot, really good fish and chips and excellent katsu chicken burger and Greek meze. We were impressed as we haven’t dined there for some time. We will be back soon. We sat in the extension at the back and they played some really good music just at the right volume too for us to enjoy it and still chat easily to each other. Good service too.

Called In for a quick drink . Didn't have food . Not being a lover of football the large TV on the wall not for me . If your a football lover could be your ideal venue .

There's nothing wrong with the Victoria Inn, but not my type of place. Lots of people crammed in for Sunday lunch. Staff were generally polite, but in rushing round they were standoff-ish and not welcoming in their manner. Food was average. I had a middle-of-the-road Sunday lunch. One of our party had gravy poured in his lap... fair enough, accidents happen... but we were told that his drink would be deducted from the bill which it wasn't when the bill arrived. There are better places for Sunday lunch with the family.

Lovely modern spacious bright and light, great place for lunch as well as in the evening. Very popular so I suggest you book if eating even at lunch time. Costs are higher than other pubs and restaurants in the area. Nice vegetarian food but not alot of choice. Nice place to just have a drink especially at the weekend and in the summer as it's got a balcony, but very busy. A popular place to go and be seen, but don't go if you don't like posers 🤩

A friendly welcome to this beautiful pub. The staff were lovely and worked hard to make the visit a pleasant one, which they easily did. The menu is an excellent one with some lovely dishes on offer. I chose steak! An excellent one. It was perfectly cooked and so flavoursome. The whole meal was delicious as were all the other choices made by my party. The prices were good and certainly offer value for money. The venue is lovely - beautifully decorated, making it feel an expensive place. There were lots of customers in giving the place a good atmosphere. It is a place I will visit again.

My daughter lives just round the corner from the Victoria Inn, but it's the first time I've been here. What a gem! It feels like an expensive venue. The decor is lovely. The welcome was friendly and the staff were helpful and efficient as well as being relaxed with the customers. The menu was a bit different to the usual pub menu. The food was delicious - the steak was cooked perfectly. There were lots of customers which led to a great atmosphere. Great value for money.

The venue for the wake of a dear friend. Everything was excellent and very well done.

When we booked for Sunday lunch we said that one of the diners would need gluten free. When we arrived, it was a great start to find a GF menu already on the table, great start. It continued to be a very enjoyable meal, the staff are excellent, their service, friendliness and professionalism really stood out. The food was delicious our roasts couldn't be faulted and when the bill came, we were very pleasantly surprised, we have paid more for a much less enjoyable meal. Thanks to all involved.

Went for Sunday roast. Was pleased it has proper roast chicken. Large portions but didn’t want Yorkshire pudding. Only complaint was the roast potatoes aren’t to my liking but my own are exceptional.

Not great, waited 45 minutes for a very average meal. The veg was raw. I get the whole al dente but these hadn't seen hot water. The staff wasn't attentive we had to get our own second drink from the bar as they were chatting and laughing. £ 50 quid for an average lunch too much. Don't recommend.

Had crispy chilli beef with garlic rice absolutely delicious. Service excellent 👌 will be returning 😀

Great place, excellent food and good beer

This is our go to place when we are in the U.K. We have never written a review on it because we probably take it for granted. However, our experience is consistently excellent. The food is great and it is impressive that the kitchen produces country themed specials most weeks. Today, it was Italy and it was spot on. The service is so friendly and we must mention the irrepressible Holly and the ever cheerful Lucas. Long may it continue!

First time visiting this place, also the last time too, overpriced and over rated food. The home cooked chips looked like leftovers from the local chip shop! Inedible! The gammon steak was basically thick bacon. The Sunday lunch was basically two very small roast potatoes and roast beef that I couldn't even cut through. Absolute total waste of money, very very disappointed. No one even asked us was our food ok even though they could see it hadn't been eaten. Will not be going here again, 1 star food at 5 star prices!!!

In the 40 years I’ve been going here, it’s always been a busy place. Very much for the younger crowd. Hard to even hear yourself think, but it’s always been like that. Had dinner there. Food was excellent, service was terrible. Long waits, had to order coffee twice. They should know what to expect, so that was disappointing.

Weekday teatime visit. Was not very crowded.

Went here for my friend's birthday, we had the bottomless brunch, was very disappointed with the lack off food, there was not enough too go round 7 off us, for what we paid was not worth it. We was put on a table with other diners around so felt like we couldn't be too loud as we did not want to disturb other diners, music was very low would off thought we would off had our own space the atmosphere overall was not good, wouldn't go here for any other doo's.

Ordered and waited ……. And waited ……. And waited some more,,.. At least 40 minutes later decided to find out what was going on , was told the kitchen printer didn’t print our order. There always seems to be “staff’ doing nothing in this place , spotted it last time I went (maybe a year ago) Ironically we (my sister and I after a remembrance visit at Overdale) went to see if things had improved from last time we visited (can’t remember exactly why we stopped going last time , but it can’t have been a good experience, because we changed venue to retreat) Anyway needless to say , sadly , this visit didn’t disappoint…. In disappointment! Back to plan B next time - somewhere else Lastly, stop allowing these staff to pass time in a visible area (to the right of the main bar area (behind a wall) It doesn’t leave a good impression

Had been at the Steam Museum and our son thought this pub would be suitable for a nice Sunday lunch. Arrived at 1:15 for a slightly later booking and taken straight to table a place half empty. Menus provided and orders taken quite quickly. Food when it arrived looked good but was not as tasty as expected. Roast beef was two small slices nicely cooked but of little taste especially without the gravy. Yorkshire pub was large but only slightly crispy and generally quite bland. Roast potatoes were OK but outside not crispy. Veg was not much better. Believe chicken was a better option. Drinks were OK but expensive at £.50 for a pint of lime and lemonade - enough to drive you to alcohol. When plates cleared offered dessert menu but it took over 20 mins to arrive so declined and paid the bill instead. Overall a fairly moderate meal at £15pp.

Great venue for all occasions. Cater for vegetarian and vegan. We had a lovely family meal. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back soon

Poor food, very bland. So overpriced for bang average food. Won’t be visiting again. We were told “pens are like gold dust around here” when we asked for some pen and paper for our 3 year old to doodle. If you’re going to provide a kids menu, at least provide something to better their experience too. Had to send one dish back because it was swimming in oil. The meal we got in replacement tasted like it was made with a packet sauce mix. So underwhelming and over priced. Really disappointed.

Waited a long while to be served, ordered an Aperol spritz whilst waiting, was just Aperol and soda no prosecco despite that being on their drinks menu. Had the Meze platter that came with Greek salad couscous but unfortunately it was swimming in mayo. Everything else was delicious and the halloumi was lovely but the couscous made up all of the flat bread so left half of the meal and half of the drink missing but was charged full price.

Usually a good experience but disappointed chips tasted burnt and asked for some sauce and cheese for garnish but had to chase this up.

Service was bad, waited ages to place a food order and drink, she gave us a menu and disappeared! Placed an order for 3 of us, only 2 arrived!!!! Had fish and chips, portion was enormous, but arrived almost burnt, I ate it as I was starving, gave feedback to waitress, she said the chef said, sometimes the batter can be a bit dark!!!! What about the burnt chips then??? Anyway menu prices are too steep, service was rubbish (no decent customer service) could've offered a free coffee or a % of the bill as both of our meals were burnt. Only good thing was prob size, I looked at the steak on menu £28!!!! No don't think so, won't be back in a hurry! Shame, it's a nice place but they need to train the staff better, politeness wasn't there are all :(

I attended a family gathering here, where we were having a buffet. It was requested if I could have separate food as I am gluten and dairy intolerant. I received my own plate of sandwiches which were beautifully put together and a side salad. I was also advised what other food would be safe for me to eat. This was very gratefully received and in lovely surroundings. Thank you

Good food. A bit over priced but great place to eat in.

Nice place, disappointed with the food. Even though we'd ordered our meals prior to going, as there was 20+ in our group. Two of us (different meals)had to ask for it to be warmed up as it arrived more or less cold, I ordered the piri chicken kebab and would recommend it. The pea soup was more like pea mousse! I would go again but perhaps in a smaller group. The staff were very friendly and sorted our issues out quickly and politely.

Decent pub, decorated to a very high standard and can get very busy. Customers dining always take precedence, which can be annoying if you are out for a few drinks. The drinks are expensive.
