I’m a coffee snob. Unashamed and fairly public about it. So when I went wandering in Bolton the other day to get a coffee, I was looking for an independent coffee shop that cares about its coffee. Stumbling into The Coffee Grind, I found my nirvana. A place that truly oozes coffee obsession. Nigel is the complete coffee guru, a true aficionado that knows his coffee inside out and can mix beans and roasts to craft the kind of cup of coffee obsessively like me dream of. It’s like rocket fuel. None of this bitter, over-roasted, commercial, mass-produced nonsense that so many chains serve, The Coffee Grind produces cup after cup of liquid nectar. If you’re just generally keen on coffee or after something better, more refined and unique, you’ll love this place.

Nipped in for some brekky, plenty of staff about, but had to order at the till which seems abit odd. Food served quickly, nice enough, price was reasonable compared to most other breakfast spots in town, certainly to sit down. Menus could do with replacing as they all seemed abit tatty.

Best spot for sushi take out in the Bolton area. Ive been going for years now and it's always been fantastic. It is tiny inside to eat in and doesn't look like much from the outside but it's truly amazing . It's well worth the drive from Darwen. The sushi is freshly made to order and the fish used is very fresh. The prawn katsu is phenomenal and the portions are generous.

What a gorgeous friendly haven of calm and creativity! From the minute you walk in you’re made to feel so at home, staff are just lovely! Me and my son (aged 10) nipped in for a chilled weekend brunch - what a treat! Gorgeous bacon butties. I mean, seriously good. And we were able to paint some pots while we sat and nattered. Really good value, lovely cosy setting. And just the ticket after a busy school week. I would highly recommend this place as the perfect antidote to modern family stress!! Thanks to Carol, the fabulous manager. We will definitely be back!!

Good rendang and lamb curry. Fried mee and rice also very nice. Would love a full, freshly cooked restaurant.

We took our great grandsons for lunch. They are given a of 5 small choices from the children’s menu, such as carrot sticks, grapes, raisins, bread sticks, boiled eggs, a small sandwich and a cup cake or biscuit, all for £5. Lots of choices on the adult menu, my husband had a meat & potato pie with mushy peas & beetroot. I had a mushroom & cheese omelette (3 eggs), all the food is home made & delicious, all reasonable price. Can I add that all the staff are lovely & friendly.
