Was here today 1st Feb , and although I ordered the wrong thing , Jon went above and beyond to get the food i wanted. And when it arrived it was delicious! Piping hot Brilliant service , food is lovely and staff are helpful

The interior needs a serious revamp. There isn't much of an atmosphere. The food isn't great, one lasagna had to be sent back as half of it was cremated, and their "full" English breakfast would barely fill my 3 year old (1 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 hash, 1 egg, few mushrooms and beans) looked like a children's meal 😄.

Booked table for 18 people wasn't enough seating to start with then we ordered food starters came out then 3 main courses came out and the rest waited a further 90 minutes for ours to come which mine was not edible asked 3 or 4 times about where food was as a 4 year old was still waiting and got told different story each time the only thing good about tonight was my refund for such poor food place is a shambles

The food was fine and hot. No problems! However what let it down for us or we would have given full stars, we had to ask for dirty dishes to moved from the table before we sat down. There was food all over the table still but even after asking no one cleaned the table. So as a result we had to go and ask for a cloth and spray and clean our own table. I think that’s unprofessional that we had to clean our own table. Otherwise the staff were nice and food was fine. Made us think twice coming again over that incident as we come to eat quite often with the family.

I love coming here for something to eat and drink. Always a good choice of food and cakes. A good shop for those essentials. I also pick up my parcels from here

I have been coming here for 20+ years. The food has always been great. For the first time, we came to have breakfast with santa. We will now be coming every year! It was such an amazing atmosphere, and the staff truly went above and beyond for the little ones. It's worth every penny! 💕

Friendy staff and a nice pleasant atmosphere.

The food was tasteless, I had the lasagne and I have tasted better microwave versions. The staff were dismissive and looked miserable. The pub is dirty including the cutlery, we had to use napkins to remove food residue. The only positive was the price which unfortunately reflected the poor service, atmosphere and quality of the food. We booked for 11 people and when directed to our table we had to rearrange additional tables ourselves to accommodate our party. We will not be visiting this pub again.

It is a green king pub with no green kind beer and had none for 4 years. And this season you have taken football off the screens you want to be a food only pub.

Had a great night, I planned a festive menu event for me and my work colleagues, we have a tradition of putting on a secret Santa event every year, this year i chose the Red Lion. The food was perfect for the great deal on offer on the festive menu and was satisfactory for everyone. We were given a prime spot right near the bar, where we could have the area to ourselves to host our event and be close to the bar for drinks. We had great service from the bar, restaurant and kitchen staff, we thank Lisa, Larnie, Lewis, Hamal, Rachel and all the kitchen staff for their hard work from everyone from The Pharmacy Team at the Royal Bolton Hospital who attended.

Only had a drink here I came herd years ago. Sadly, it had a leak in roof corned off 😪 desperately which repairs a new bit of carpet and wallpaper to bring it up to its glorious standards but the staff were very helpful when my son lost his pound for machine

Looking for food after a competition in Bolton. After trying a few places The Red Lion was the only pub local to our Hotel doing food after 8. Food was good, speed of service was very good. (It was quiet) Prices were also pretty good for the modern day. Overall very impressed. Would recommend and will look to head back here in the future.

Everyday Monday at Red Lion is smartphone quiz night. The quiz starts at 8pm, free to play and lots of fun. The staff here are really friendly and the food is really good. They have some great food and drink deals here which on a Monday include Grill Monday and a Pub Classics meal deal.

came for saturday night gin & catch up with my friend. steak was cooked & seasoned just how i asked. chips and peas pipping hot. all staff i came in contact with were lovely young gent behind the bar was very helpful in advising us which gin to try. bonus the wacky for the little ones to run around in before tea.will defiantly be back

First time at the Red Lion for a quick bite to eat and it didn't disappoint. A lovely chilled, quiet vibe on a Tuesday evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious. Hope to return soon 😃

We visited hear last night food was really nice apart from one member of staff who was rude and didn't give us what we ordered so when he was approached it was like a big effort to get the order right with no apology we was sat at a table that was for someone else when approached the staff was not bothered I understand that it was busy but there was no need for some of the staff to be rude

The service was horrendous the guy at the bar had bad attitude I ordered a millionair chocolate brownie and he said he will order me a kids one as it's cheaper but there was no children with us and I said I wanted a brownie so order the children's one that I didn't want it. I recommend the food but the service is bad .

The food was lovely, the dessert was also! Even though the horseshoe donut was out of stock! However our server Lewis recommended when I can find it in stock and be able to try it! He was very attentive and friendly and went above ablnd beyond to make our dining experience 5 star! Thank you Lewis!

Very quiet, food is average and it needs a refurb..paint peeling, walls are stained with drink spills and stained chairs

The food was really good, the wait time wasn't too long. I think it's good value for money. Staff were lovely! The portions were quite big took some of those sliders home. 4 stars for the atmosphere because the place (especially the ceiling) needs some TLC.

Great place to have food and drinks, cheap and cheerful and the staff are very friendly only drawback is there is no sky sport's on anymore.

Free parking. The pub felt a bit dated, but we wasn’t there for the decor The food was ok, but nothing to shout home about.

Unwelcoming visit staff stood talking to eachother while waiting to be seated to be told just sit where you want.... Ordered though the app seating looked scruffy and my arm stuck to the table... Food was terrible at best both dinners mine was dried out and the chips you could tell just come out the freezer so they get left... Meat was dried out and the sausages didn't even taste like sausage.... I've eaten some rubbish over the year but today's visit is probably the worst food ever ever paid for

Food once it came right was standard. Multiple food orders came incorrect. Beer did not taste good. There was a constant smell of cigarette smoke. Yes this is a pub but it's also a family "restaurant". A hair wash found in one of the children's ice-cream before was given to the child. One child was given half frozen half cooked corn on the cob. I definitely will not be going back in a hurry.

Came in today for breakfast. All staff warm and friendly. Food was cooked perfect by chef who I was told is darren. Thank you will be back.
