5-Star Review for Toby Carvery We had an amazing time at Toby Carvery while celebrating a friend’s birthday with a large group of 12. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. A huge shoutout to Kirsty, who went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. She was incredibly helpful, warm, and personable, making every single one of us feel welcome and looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for her—she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask! Kirsty’s friendly demeanor and genuine care made the evening feel extra special. Another mention goes to Cameron, who was serving at the carvery. He was equally friendly and helpful, adding to the positive atmosphere with his cheerful attitude and efficiency. The food was delicious as always, but it’s the fantastic service from Kirsty that truly set this visit apart. We’ve all agreed we’ll definitely return—and it’s down to the incredible hospitality we received. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable!

Nice place but why are eggs on breakfast so hard ? Never running eggs ? Why ? In Widnes every single time I can eat running fresh made eggs . Also no salt on each table. Why ?

Lovely carvery! Kelsey was very helpful and welcoming! The restaurant itself could do with a bit of a dust/ clean but didn’t really take away from the experience. We both enjoyed our food and time here.!

I had a carvey, it was tasteless and cold. I've been poorly all night after eating here. Children's menu they do nuggets, pasta but no chips ,if you order for your children be mindful to top up there plate you do so from the carvey, they mainly focus on the carvey they said .

Food was lukewarm warm at best and the meat portion was shocking when you £15 the dish should be packed full of meat not all the fatty cuts will not order this again stay well away from

Staff pleasant carvery ok I had a crumble the custard was pityfull asked for more and was told that under half a serving boat was the portion size and I would have to pay extra if I want more The carvery looked tired the toilets were filthy would of preferred going to burger king

Specifically requested at the point of booking, a proper table with chairs, not bench seating for my elderly mum's mobility - we where taken to bench seating??? The restaurant very tired and carpets not clean/sticky in places. The Waterside needs updating. No attention to detail re cleaning of tables / floors etc. Service slow. The veg was well below average, over cooked and tasteless. Which had been allowed to dry out under the hot lights but the Veg was not hot at all. No attention to detail, food did not look appetising - no care taken by the Chef/cooks. Meat selection good including the Lamb and tasty. Yorkshires not the best large tasteless with soggy bottoms. £14.95 not value for money based on the low quality of food . Toby Carvery needs to do better.

Lovely fresh veg, perfect roast potatoes and tender beef, and gorgeous gravy as usual

Very good service from Kelsey and Alfie, attentive and smiley. Food also very good, the roast potatoes are excellent and a good selection of vegetables. All public areas were clean and well maintained. Tables were spotless. It wasn't too busy when we went but it it's still advisable to book for Sundays as this is a popular place and good value. I really like the Carr Mill Toby carvery and will definitely be going again.

Lovely tasting food, but the meat is ALWAYS a let down. They seem to save gristly slices for delivery orders. Tonight I got merely one slice of turkey (turkey so they didn't send gristle). So disappointing in an otherwise faultless meal.

Forgot the fudge cakes that was paid for just eat had to sort this with a slight refund otherwise food was good. Just some checking of orders before they leave is needed here

Kim is the best waitress in this restraunt she is amazing she always puts the customer first and nothing is to much trouble for you love kim. You can get any shit you like but Kim is good

ALWAYS brilliant Sunday lunch...such a choice of meats vegetables & potatoes so yummy & always fresh.... quality ...& so.hope reasonable priced...staff & customers are all friendly.. we luv it...if l had a moan it wud be it cud do with new deco looks tired...but situated in fantastic surroundings.well done to all staff. jx

absolutley disgraceful. I ordered a ultimate for extra meat and put it in the notes like the restaurant told me to do they ignored the notes they sent 2 small pieces of meat, 2 roast potatoes that were burnt and a box which was basically full to the brim with just carrots and peas and a bit of mash. never seen anything like it.

Bloody good breakfast!!! Well cooked, delightful. Certainly put my local to shame!!

Delivery was fine. The food was just dumped in a cardboard bowl . Half of it was stuffing. The rest was just a mish mash. Whoever plated this needs some serious training..the gravy was tasteless. Also one dish was missing. Glad I tried this as I was going to order for Christmas. I think I’ll try a piece of beef instead. Sorry Toby you failed on this one.

Terrible, you only get peas and carrots for the veg. Half full gravy pots and next to no meat. Really bad experience considering it’s called Toby CARVERY!!
