Absolutely appalling chips they have been warmed up and the curry was terrible whodunit go there again and the fish was absolutely crap

The chips are not cooked long enough the fish is dry. This chippy was very good once sorry to say will not go back again waste of money.

Absolutely horrible food. Chips were definitely warmed up, fish had more batter than actual fish and the peas came in a lump. Avoid this place if you value your health.

Not great on this occasion....later 9pm ish and the chips were over cooked scraps ...

I can't share my thoughts on the food as they only take cash and I only had my card on me. But why do they only take cash

Just been for our tea the girls swapped over I had to tell her what we had ordered again. As one was already made I gave her my order when I've got home fishcake and sausage missing but charged for them to say I'm peeved is an understatement ..

Smoked sausage was good. Chips mixed reviews in the house. Gravy probably the worst iv even had no taste at all. The staff were miserable and slow, not a single smile between them. Had head ache after leaving, was empty when we arrived we were still in there 15/20 minuets for chips and sausage 🤣

I always use please and thank you with anybody it doesn't cost a thing. The woman that served me used no manners at any point from greeting to transaction and leaving. She was also huffing and puffing and making eye contact with the girl at the side of me whom I might add had already been served and was waiting. I was on a budget and trying to ask how much would it be for X y and z all through that time I was adding please and thank you where anyone usually would. She had a very cold attitude with me On top of this she was talking openly with another customer being all nice with her like I didn't exist at all. This is the first bad review I have ever done so I think that speaks volumes.

Having tried Drake's, Fish-a-rama and Chain Lane chippy I can highly recommend this place. Certainly worth a visit. I’m definitely going back again.

Rude staff never smile on 2 occasions now been horrible customer service is 0 on 2 occasions we’ve been and both times the staff where rude and miserable

Can't beat it best fish and chips around good prices

When for our Friday fish and chips tea. Opens at 4.30 but always a queue to get in. Don't worry plenty of staff and food so no waiting around. Staff are are as lovely as the food is delicious. I tell my friends who now won't go anywhere else abd travel from Rainhill.

Fish and chips usually beautiful from here but chips today were inedible. Looked like the leftovers had been reheated- dry,hard and only fit fir the bin where they ended up

Good fish, good peas, speedy service, chips can sometimes be a little rubbery if you get there late but if they're still being made fresh, they're wonderful. They don't take card yet, but there is a cash machine in the nearby Co-op

I live in Yorkshire, my Mum now lives in Wigan. We travel to this chippy whenever I visit 😁 We love their homemade curry sauce too 😋

We call for fish & chips about once a month. The food is a always delicious. Great portion sizes and very tasty. We have never had a bad experience. The shop is very clean, there are a large selection of meals and the staff are efficient and friendly. Great value for money too. Definitely recommend.

Great fish and chips and good value meal deals including a drink. Good service and it's clean and bright. We usually get a portion of 'specials' to munch on, on the way home.

Small portions and really tight with the gravy and peas. Three girls, one nice and polite, one meaner than a rattle snake and an old woman who looked like she'd lost the will to live. Fish was nice though 🙄

Went to this rancid chippy for chips and fish. The fat smelled like an old chip pan. The staff where extremely rude and need a crash course in manners. The chips where bland and very greasy the fish was like a flip flop. Will never go back even if starving.

Excellent freshly cooked food,the fish is the star of the chippy always good every week,chips cooked fresh generous portions. Shop in very clean and staff always happy to serve you. After not having a chippy on the estate for many years this chippy is now a firm favourite

Just got 2 portions chips and 2 tubs large gravy had to reheat chips as they were cold and it the gravy was awful thick and lumpy.

Just ordered chip and donor meat. Got told only half a portion of donor left so would be charged half price. Different woman served me and told me managed to get full portion. 5 strands was never a full portion. Not bothered about being charged full price but fuming about being lied to. Never go again

Sometimes the fish are really good, I have had fish with lots of black and grey skin they should be white. Maybe they are using cheaper cuts of cod.

Growing up with this being Chinese loved by all so moving back to the area it had a lot to live up to and so far not so good, menu good, some staff better than others, chips Nedd cooking more, donner is ok some days then bad, love the specials and mushy peas but fish is a bit rubbery and puddings sometimes over steamed and sticks in tin, kids love chicken burgers and they sell dandelion and burdock. All that's missing is the spud bath & Corona pop with deposit back when you return the empties.

Never faulty the.chippy until now most of the staff are very friendly one time I was in a 3 person queue and ordered a kebab at the back so when I got to the front the meal was waiting when I moved forward told to get behind the queue and wait I walked out.last night 28th of February nobody in just after a two cheese burger and small portion of chips and chips and peas got passed my chips without a bag but told I'll give you a bag.when the bag was passed over I wasn't ready to go ,hold on you've got a burger sorted gets home no chips and peas second time I've had a meal that's gone wrong the chips was greasy tastied has do they came from dinner sorry I won't be going this chippy again.

Long queue but staff very efficient

What a sorry excuse for a chippy. The "chips" (if you can call them that) were cold by the time we got them home, which is a 2 minute drive at most. When we opened them they were more like toe nails than chips and must have been in the hopper all night. Avoid this place at all costs. I understand the owner has a few more chippies but after tonight I'll be avoiding them too.

Really lovely food, I love the mushroom and onion gravy! The lunch time deals are really good value. Good size portions. Nice that they do extra beyond a basic chippy menu, makes it easy to please everyone! Burgers are very very good👍

Local and cheap good quality chippy!

One of the best Chippys I know. I live in Spain but visit family every year. One of my must have stops is this place. I'm not a fish lover but make an exception with this chippy. The best fish I have tasted.

went last week and got food and it was lovely,went yesterday and bought fish,looked lovely until i cut into it,it was a yucky grey colour all the way through it and was not fully cooked,disappointed to say the least.

just bought fish and chips from here ,soggy chips cold and no batter on fish,£ 4.80 the price is ok if you can eat soggy cold chips, also the assistant changed my chips into a bigger box and manhandled my chips
