Nice food and really good service from jade and jasmine keep up the good work.

First time visiting yesterday and everything was brilliant! From the food to the staff. I think I caught the names right Jade, Colette and Jaz!? All amazing! Will returning 🤩

Great food outdoor space could improve. Staff where kind and observant. Place was clean and tidy. Plenty of seating area.

Food was awful for the price we paid xmas day, all our food from 11 of us was hardly touched, processed turkey and gravy was like cement that wouldnt come out gravy boat or able to share it around it was that thick, complementry drink was a bottle of prosecco to go around 7 people got told if we needed more to ask, when we did ask we got offered dregs from other tables.and told you only get 125ml, so why say ask if we need more. Next table got 2 bottles on there table from other waitress, we had to clear our own table an put on nxt table service was awful. They was rushed of there feet they couldnt cope. 2 stars is for the poor young lad that was running everywere.

Cheap and cheerful. Nothing special food was just OK.

My family booked for Christmas day lunch . Firstly the table had not been set for right amount of guests . Secondly the food was awful , many plates had a lot of food left on them. The chairs we where seated on were dirty and stained , I believe they were short staffed and we waited 1 hour from finishing our starter to receiving our Dinner. I was so disappointed with the food, sliced round turkey cold, underdone potatoes, overdone veg , Even for pub food it was far below standard. I don't blame the few staff that were working because they couldn't apologise enough. £59 per head for 9 adults and the food was terrible

Myself and my family had Christmas dinner here and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful even though they were ruched off their feet. The food was great and the portion sizes are massive. Great value for money and there was free soft play for the children. Would definitely visit again.

Paid over £200 for Christmas dinner here and was furious with what we got. We had never been before but seen it had a soft play so thought would be good for the kids. The second you step in the entrance you get a bad impression, the place is so run down, there’s damp and pint peeling off the walls everywhere you look. We had a the soup for starters which was lukewarm and looked congealed with a slice of standard bread, I had 3 spoons of it. I was hopeful for the main thinking you can’t go wrong with a roast really, however it came out and looked like it had been plated up ages ago and just microwaved. Lukewarm again and the veg was all over cooked and soggy, the roasties had freezer burn all over them. I basically had a stuffing ball and 3 roasties for lunch. Out of a party of 5 not 1 of us finished our starter or main. You can’t really go wrong with pre-made cheese cake and ice cream so desert was the only edible thing we had. I have never complained about food/service before but was honestly furious with what we got for our money. I definitely would not return, just wished I’d read reviews before booking

Usual pub fare, not particularly outstanding. Pleasant enough. Whacky warehouse next door handy for kids but dear at a fiver per kid and someonehas to supervise.

S*** show….ordered food, the starters came with the mains, then one family members meal was missed off completely, only to be re-ordered late as a fish/chips/peas….then told there’s no mushy peas only garden peas, then 10mins later there’s no fish…. is scampi ok? We ordered the kids deserts only to be told they didn’t put it through as a meal deal and the tab was closed, so we didn’t get the included kids deserts. The scampi meal came out with no Tata sauce and mains that came out with the starters…(sent back) then came back out cold. Sorry but this place is a joke….1/10 avoid when possible.

Great food and service. We enjoyed the 3 course festive menu each course was really nice and served hot and quickly. The additional decorations on the table made it even more of a festive treat and lovely time together with good food and drinks.

The Game Bird is back to form, a much better experience than when we last visited. The food was good same with the value! Wait time was reasonable and staff were friendly.

This place used to be really nice, not anymore. The food was poor & the steak wasn’t cooked to how we asked. We did plan on having food plus deserts but we left our food & went elsewhere for deserts. The building is in a bad way & definitely needs a lot of improvements doing. I felt like I stepped back into the 90’s… we won’t be going here again !!!

Went yesterday 10/11/24. Wish we would have driven past. Myself and my son got the”Roast dinner” (turkey&beef). Where do I start!!! The Turkey came out round and fully processed that it had to have gravy on it to stop it sanding the plate. (You do get a jug of gravy separate) Frozen style roast potatoes, just missing the filling Vegetables were so bland you could get more taste from a tree branch. My son had the beef dinner and was physically sick after eating the rubber beef which he struggled to even chew. My partner got the mixed grill or should I say the microwave grill !! Centre of the pork was hot, but once again the thing had an outer casing of rubberised crust. Sausages were like bricks. Asked for scrambled egg instead of fried and got chopped up fried egg.missing the chicken breast completely!. We also got desserts ,well sort of. Ordered two apple and berries crumble just missing the berries part, my son had cheesecake which he said was at least palatable. Think the best thing was the coffees ,they at least could not be microwaved. I gave 1star for them. Avoid at all cost. Better food from a greasy spoon on some back road cabin. Been to other franchises and I will say they are worlds apart !

Came for tea on a Sunday with 2 kids, food was a waste of time really, added a pic of the 'tomato pasta' possibly a teaspoon of puree on rubbery pasta, all the chips were cold, steak that was requested medium was rare but just more burnt than the med rare, no skillets so no veggies either, no sauce on the burgers but at least some on the table, it was only £45 for 2 adults 2 kids and it's pub food but it was pants even with that in mind.

We went to the pub with our grandchildren as they enjoy the wacky warehouse. We ordered food from within the wacky and it was brought straight to our table by a lovely waitress. I ordered the fish and chips and couldn’t finish it because the fish was massive, my husband had to finish it for me, the chips were hot and fresh, the mushy peas actually had flavour and the tartar sauce was tasty with the crispy batter. My husband got the mixed grill and he loved all of it. The grandchildren got the kids pasta which came with garlic bread it was a good size for them both and we didn’t hear any complaints. Will definitely be back again when we’re minding the grandchildren as it was a nice day out for us all.

I take my kids to play after school they love this place. The staff are amazing donna is great with kids and always doing as much as shecan to make shure they have a good time.

We had a great time at the Halloween party. Donna always looks after the children and keeps them entertained.

10 out of 10 for us. Didn't need to book the wacky warehouse, we were given a table straight away. Ordered food and was fresh and came within 15 minutes. Jade was lovely, friendly and very efficient. 90 minutes of play in the wacky warehouse and service was great. Will be back. Thanks again 👍

We had found this gem of a place by chance. We had a delightful and delicious dinner..food was definitely worth the price , there was lot of options.The millionaire cheesecake was the highlight of our evening. It was just out of the world. Jasmin was just amazing and took really good care of us ,especially the kids. Cant wait to come back again.

Absolutely awful food. I got the ‘salt & pepper banquet’ a banquet it was not! It was chicken nuggets and chips with a red salt, scabby chicken wings & 1 chicken drumstick with jelly like substance on it. We went for a family members birthday meal as a group of 20 on Saturday & not one of us was happy with our meal. Really disappointed with the whole service from awful food to chipped bowls. Do not recommend

Stopped there recently for a quick drink whilst travelling the East Lancs. I used the rear entry. My god I was horrified by the state of disrepair of the building. The whole place should be demolished and rebuilt. The window frames are rotten and falling to pieces and some of the windows have no glass. It's a disgrace that this unkempt dump should be serving food. I wouldn't eat anything there. They can spend money on their wacky warehouse but fail to maintain the building in a satisfactory condition. But the sad thing is they charge over £6 for a pint of Peroni as though the place is a premium establishment. Its nowhere near. This is like London prices in a shabby area of Merseyside and a shabby building. Who are Greene King trying to kid. With management like this it's no wonder tgat they are laying off so many people at Bury S E. Avoid at all costs. Even the parking lot is shabby and full of potholes etc. Close your wacky warehouse and refurbish the whole building to an acceptable standard. Keep driving past.

Food was lovely nice and hot and very enjoyable staff were fantastic I will be coming again was there for my granddaughters 13 birthday we all enjoyed our meals thank you 10 out of 10 from us all

We came today with our 2 autistic children which is always stressful but we had the perfect visit. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service was amazing and special thanks to Donna in the Wacky who went above and beyond. She is very helpful and nothing is to much trouble and she made sure we felt very welcome and we had a lovely day. We will be back soon.

We stopped going the game bird about a year ago due to poor food,but we went on Saturday for an anniversary meal with the extended family and we was dreading it to be honest but we was happily surprised to say the menu had been revamped and the food was glorious and the staff and chef could cope with the rather large party that came in and was all eating at the same time. Will be going back.

Today we decided to eat for for are dinner. The food was great and there was lots of choices. We ordered a few dishes as my children are fussy eaters. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very helpful. Will deffo be back.

We regularly come to wacky warehouse and the children love playing and Donna is very welcoming and extremely helpful. Nothing is to much trouble. We love coming. We stayed last week for lunch which was very nice.

The building is over all a mess, when we pulled up we thought we would give the food a try anyway, upon ordering we ordered half pint of coke in a dirty glass, when questioned about it the man told us when you put the ice in it fills it up, MY SON DIDNT WANT ICE! Never been so insulted! The lamb kofta kebab looked lovely for £15 look lovely on the menu until I got it!!The microwave kofta was cold and NOTHING GENEROUS ABOUT OUR FOOD! As it says on the sign as you walk in. The mixed grill had few chips when it says large portion on the menu.

All the food tastes frozen, waste of money, don't order the salt an pepper fries just comes shaked season🤢 apoorling food, honest review, avoid this place at all cost..

DONT ORDER A ROAST Went for wifes birthday and it was a complete disaster orderd food took 45 mins two roasts burger chips and a curry. Curry ok burger chips. burger burnt chips cold. As for the two . ROAST DINNERS meat looks like stuff you put on a butty mash salty stuffing burnt. veg uncooked It's the worst roast I've ever had ever. We've had some good meals from there to be fair. 0 OUT OF 10 manager look at the amount of negatives you have on this dish its not good. UPDATE I NOW HAVE FOOD POISONING

Staff were nice, pub is grotty and needs total refurbishment, we struggled to find a clean chair to sit on they were all so dirty it made me cringe in the end we settled on a booth but we had to clean the seats before we could sit down The tables need sanding and varnishing, the food wasn't nice had a bad stomach next day. Had over cooked lasagna with wilted brown lettuce salad and really pale awful tomatoes cut into big chunks . Sorry but won't be going back.

Family of 4. There were children running and screaming, chips on the floor. We waited 30+mins for food, then 45mins for dessert. There must have been 5 families there in total so i'd hate to know the wait when it's actually busy. Food was as good as any hungry horse.

Firstly I travelled a distance to bring my son to play they have no space the play area was quiet So goes to get food limted things on the menu When the food arrived tight with the chips I had a rock hard naan bread and my son got a few chips . My dad's burger was burnt nit to mention the mayo shortage shambles of a place . I've been to a lot off hungry horse pubs and this one had to be the worst ever . Says it with how quiet they are . Never will I come here again .

We decided to come to this establishment for dinner as it had an indoor and outdoor play area. On arrival, we found out there was no garlic bread, overheard someone ordering they had no strawberries either. Then, there is also no burgers including the kids burger, and upon ordering via the app there was also no fish and chips. Being pregnant this left my options very minimal. The kids meal arrived, the mash was yellow and rock hard on top, I mashed it up a little more and it was still noy great, my little boy refused to eat it.. The gravy was so thick it barely poured out of the jug. The mix it up came out and the fries were pale. Will not be returning.

We were unfortunate to decide to eat at the Game Bird this afternoon. Whilst the staff at front of house were excellent I can't say the same for the kitchen staff. Ordered steak and ale pie, chips, peas and beef lasagna with salad. On arrival the lasagne was stone cold and the chips served with the pie were also cold. The lady behind the bar immediately took the lasagne away and said she would get fresh chips as well. After about 10 minutes she came back with fresh chips and said the lasagne would be 5 minutes. When the lasagne arrived my wife put her fork in and the all off the bottom half was burnt, stuck to the bottom of the bowl and totally inedible. Whilst the duty manager did offer my wife another meal she really didn't want to eat anything in that establishment. It will be a long time before I visit this or any Hungry Horse outlet.

Really enjoyable experience, loved the food, great atmosphere, lovely environment with great priced food and drink, Must visit if your in the area.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve had in recent years, too start off we are a family of 5 consisting of 3 adults and 2 young children 1 of the adults being elderly, when we arrived in the children’s play area, there was no staff what so ever, so after 10 minutes of waiting we let them play on the idea of coming too pay when a member of staff wasn’t available, after about 20 minutes I was rudely told this was not something that was allowed, but I suppose you have too be there too I force the rules, anyway we then looked at the menu too order food, then I asked the lady could we order and she told us, no I would have told you but you just barged in, this lady had ample opportunity too tell us that we could not order food, and there was no need for the aggressiveness and attitude when I only asked a polite discussion, after more bickering we decided too just leave the place all together and go somewhere that would treat you with respect, I honestly do not understand the need for people too behave like this especially when it’s directly dealing with children all day

Hi it was one of the worst experiences I’ve hard in long went to take my grand kids to the playroom. The was no staff there waited 10 mins with the kids them someone coming out let us in. Then a Young lady shouted at us for going in I payed for my to children (18 months and 2 years) and seat down looked at the menu and went to order to be told we can’t eat in the playground but the dirty plates on the tables the young lady spoke at us like we done something wrong in front of my mother 78 years old and two young kids. Never again we I ever go again!!!!

I Came to the wacky warehouse this evening with my partner and son, the lady working was lovely she couldn’t do enough to help, we also ordered food everything came out quickly and tasted Amazing! We have just purchased a monthly pass so we will definitely be back soon.

OMG Food disgraceful roast dinner cauliflower not cooked, roast potato was one cut into 3 bits, turkey and beef unrecognisable as meat, Yorkshire puddings was still frozen in the middle how you can serve that to people is beyond me avoid this place

Fathers day meal & Most food was out of stock forcing us to pick alternative meals that we waited well over an hour for with 3 kids including a 1 year old wasn't ideal, they forgot my youngests meal so they had to wait while we eat, when it arrived finally it was kids tomato pasta which was barely edible and came from a supermarket bag which was heated up in the microwave, the park is now deemed unsafe for kids so cannot use it anymore, the claw machines swallowed my sons coin without giving him a turn, my partner took my son to change a nappy and the toilets were a disgrace, shoes were soaked and smell was foul, the place didnt have any soul or heart into it was a real let down considering i have been going here since i was in primary school, hungry horse turning into britannia hotels by running the buildings into the floor, its a big no for a return from me

Food was not what was described on the menu. Many items missing. Meat was processed and grilled (turkey) plus a 50 minute wait with no apology until we asked and pub was a ⅓ full?! Have visited many Hungry Horse pubs before and had lovely meals but would avoid this one. Bar staff were lovely on a plus point but the chef? That needs addressing ! Won't be going back to The Game Bird.

Utterly grim. When we went in the staff wouldn't look at anyone. Everything to touch was sticky or greasy from the bar to the menus. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a funeral where the deceased wasn't much liked with the only visible smile on a poster... The furniture is ramshackle and the whole place smells just awful. A terrifying experience as if a chain restaurant appeared in the Wicker Man. The best commendation for the place is that there is room to park, presumably because people know better than to turn up in the first place.

Chicken parm was dry And had very little cheese. Food was OK, but the servers were exceptional. Very kind and very funny.

No onion rings. No sausages. No yazzoo. Basically no caprisun . Waited 15 mins to clean a table . Then 10 mins stood at bar waiting too be served.

Food was horrible veg on my roast was rock solid kids pizzas were all sloppy my partners burger was near raw the wacky warehouse is minty an stinks needs a good clean an there's marther Scott running round after all the kids goin down slides very uncomfortable

Salt and pepper chips full of powder and cost £3.79 disgusting. Informed a member of staff said totally different to the photo on the menu she said yes we just use a seasoning.

Really run down now and not maintained at all. The conservatory part upstairs looks like it's going to fall down. Desperately needs a refurb.

Nice hot food, good service and great value. The pub is a little run down and could be a bit cleaner, but the toilets were clean and tidy.

To be honest, that was not nice at all. Probably one of the worst mixed grills I’ve had. The fish looked like it been cremated. Not great guys so you need to get your act together. On the plus side the waitresses work hard and served at the bar quickly. I don’t blame them, it’s the chef that needs a word with. Sorry, I’m not into leaving poor reviews but this is necessary for you to improve.

Lovely staff, fast service food was spot on but only downside play area was locked and kids wanted a little play but other than that couldn’t fault are visit here ☺️
