Bakes custom made me a 30th Birthday cake box with various treats. This was during the COVID-19 lockdown so everything was done over social media messages. The service was excellent and of course was the cakes and biscuits. Would highly recommend.

I was there earlier in November on a Sundsy afternoon when the weather was extremely gloomy, misty and murky - the pub was essentially in the low lying clouds, and we wouldn't have been surprised to find ourselves at The Slaughtered Lamb (a la American Werewolf in London), but the laughter and chatter didn't stop when we walked in, and we were immersed in a nicely busy, warm and friendly atmosphere. My son and I just had a couple of guiness, but the food we saw being served up looked very appetising, with big servings, and plenty were eating. We've been before and I've heard the food is very good, and we'll be sampling it soon. I got the impression most people knew everybody else, but the staff and locals were all very friendly, made a fuss of our 2 dogs, and coupled with the traditional decor made for a cosy retreat from the grim weather outside. My previous visits had been confined to the beer garden at the back,(on sunny days) which has plenty of tables, a play area, and offers great views of the City centre and its skyscrapers - comfortably in the hazy distance, with plenty of green fields and scenery in between. A really nice pub, I'd recommend it.

First visit with my friend to The Printers and it didn't disappoint. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food was stunning. Portions were very generous and the staff super friendly and accommodating. We had a starter and a main course each with a couple of sparkling waters. Will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you for a fab meal 😍.

Having visited the restaurant for years, and enjoyed all of it. My partner did the books many years ago. We have stuck with it through all the many changes & styles of food offered. Unfortunately we went for Sunday Roast , last Sunday. The beef was sold out, my partner took the pork which was too fatty, I took the ham shank which looked like it had been boiled & was totally unacceptable to me. We complained quietly to an older waitress, who tried to help with a strange type of beef? We were told to complain to Charlotte ( restaurant manager) who went home early on Sunday, & would not be on duty until Wednesday? Having decided that was enough, we grudgingly paid, and left, never to return ever! we were treated badly!

My sister in law and I went here for lunch for my birthday. Wow, this place is awesome. Outside and inside bedecked for Christmas. What a beautiful aura for customers. We ordered our food and drinks. We had the steak pie and the steak pudding. Oh my goodness, everything was delicious, the home cut chips and mushy peas were to die for. The staff are very pleasant and we didn't wait long for our meals, about 10 mins. The open fire was a welcome sight as it was quite a cold but bright day. I had to write this review as I have reviewed lots of places to eat in the past, but the Church Inn is one not to miss. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone as it serves the best food that I have ever tasted. Long may you all reign, you are all 2nd to none. Bravo to owners, chefs and waiting staff. A most pleasurable afternoon spent in a delightful location.

Came to the hotel and requested a room for a single night, having paid 80 pounds for said single night I thought it was reasonable granted the cosy atmosphere of the downstairs lower bar and locale. However, the room was particularly unimpressive, the shower did not work, and I was unable to properly flush the toilet as my girlfriend was later horrified to discover. Aside from the poor state of the room for the price it is given, the service and bar downstairs was most enjoyable. A good alcoholic selection and friendly talkative staff. Would possibly come again however only for food or drinks.

Friendly staff, but overpriced, poor quality food. Avocado on toast was more like some weird guacamole, that was very lemony and smushy - yuck! Poached eggs nice. Kids burger really cheap 'beef'. Terrible smell as well - like extreme wet dog or gone off milk? It was truly awful.

Never been before despite living locally. It was OK, but I won't return unfortunately. The coffee was lovely, however the lemon drizzle cake was dry and lacking lemon flavour. Service was really slow and it just looked untidy and not what I thought it'd be.

We sat upstairs as downstairs was full, I honestly thought the waitress forgot we were up there it took her so long to take our order. Coffee and food ordered, waited an age for the coffee to arrive and an even longer age for the waitress to come and apologise to us for the long delay, she said she’d given out three meals to another table and ours would be up shortly. When it finally arrived my poached eggs (on avo toast) were stone cold.

Absolutely lovely pub, we turned up 10 minutes before the kitchen was due to shut but the girl serving was more than happy to accommodate us, she was so friendly and polite plus excellent service. The food was delicious tasty and value for money, I recommend the rump steak with home cooked chips. The steak was thick generous potion and cooked to perfection. The pub itself was warm cosy and friendly.
