Arrived at a farm shop, with animals and they do not allow small puppy in the cafe, was greeted at the door by a young server who refused us entry, I know it is their choice but seriously a FARM SHOP, refusing entry to 3 paying guests and a small Golden Retriever is ridiculous! We were allowed to sit in the rain, but there was very little cover and only tables for 2 in the shelter. If you have dogs do not visit in a rainy day as you will not be allowed in, but cats are allowed to wander the cafe freely!

Always loved it here in the past and would often visit however the menu has now changed. No option for a simple lunch everything is £13.00+ £13.00 for one slice of bread with cheese on top..! It's certainly no longer a place to pop in for lunch and a brew due to these prices. Such a shame! The cat is gorgeous though.

Lovely farm shop and cafe, love that they use their own produce in the menu, and it was delicious. Also had some cake which was homemade and fresh. Absolutely love the shop, yes a little more expensive but you expect that in a farm shop, it’s not a supermarket. The deli counter looked amazing and couldn’t choose from all the goods on offer. Well worth a visit for fresh homemade food, cakes and deli delights x

Heard about this place and despite mixed reviews thought we’d go and see for ourselves. Couldn’t get a menu up online, when we got there we found they only do proper meals, not snack type stuff. Only sandwiches were hot beef or pork which I don’t eat. Went into the shop instead, found the prices to be very expensive. You go in through the farm shop but can go back that way so have to go outside then back into the farm shop, but odd. Went to the ladies toilet which had a lump of some looking suspiciously like poo on the floor, toilet roll strewn around, and everywhere was caked in filthy cobwebs. The whole place seemed tatty and disorganised. Wouldn’t recommend.

Went for an early lunch (11:30) 26th Jan 2024. My son had the full breakfast. I ordered the rag pudding, chips and mushy peas. It should have been tip-top fresh, given it was so early in the day. The pudding was so dried out I couldn't eat it - ? not fresh that day - seemed as if it was re-heated. The chips were cremated, no joking, I could only eat a few and the 'mushy peas' were just crushed frozen peas. Truly appalling. I felt too embarrassed to complain, as my son was treating me and I didn't want to hurt his feelings.

What a waste of a lunch. Once you navigate through the potholes in the car park to get a space, it’s no better inside. We arrived with our 7 month old daughter in a stroller and had to move many obstacles to get through the shop, I’ve no idea how anyone in a wheelchair could do so. We arrived at the restaurant passing two signs saying ‘no prams!!’ which in itself should have been enough warning to leave, however we have the limited yet expensive menu a look and went up to order (there’s no table service), we ordered our lunch and shortly after we’re told a chef has walked out and the remaining staff will not be making any lunch, only breakfast items so we can be refunded the difference ordering something else. We didn’t fancy breakfast at lunchtime so opted to leave. It speaks volumes if a chef is walking out on the job in this day and age, no idea what’s happening behind the scenes there but it’s not going to be somewhere we return to. Icing on the cake was still being charged for two cans of fizzy drinks which we didn’t want without food. Save yourself the trauma and eat elsewhere.

Went for lunch here on Friday 1st December. Had to be refunded (you queue and pay in advance) because they couldn’t fulfil the order because apparently the chef had “walked out” and they were now only serving breakfasts ,at 1pm in the afternoon. They still charged for the soft drinks despite ruining our lunch. We o nly had an hour for lunch and we had made the trip with our 7 month old daughter too (incidentally they also have a strict policy on no prams being allowed which is not very family friendly and arguably discriminatory). There would be space for prams but they’ve clearly packed in as many tables as possibly to maximise profit. This also comes at the expense of long waiting times despite the very expensive pricing. This is the second time we have visited this place in the past few years, the first time was for breakfast and that experience was poor too - stone cold toast (the butter didn’t even melt). After giving it a second chance we will never be returning.

Although Albion farm has extended and added to it “attractions” e.g. the Turkey Shed, larger shop for fruit and veg, etc, there doesn’t appear to be any attention paid to the scruffy areas where things are just dumped in corners around the outside as well as indoors. No link from the shop to the cafe now, you have to negotiate to either end of the building around piled up picnic tables, dirty and unused electrical cabinets and over uneven ground. All the signs are cheap laminated photocopies that need replacing. Piles of stuff stacked in corners near the butchers counter. The cafe has replaced the seating and tables since our last visit and not for the better, they may provide more seating but are badly constructed and incredibly heavy, made from sleepers and steel supports, not the most hygienic things to keep clean. The resident cat is allowed to wander round the cafe (having a dedicated scratch and sleep tower in the corner) and chose to sit near us washing its nether regions whilst we were eating! (Is it allowed to stay in the building overnight with access to the fresh and chilled food in the shop?) On a brighter note, the food was ok but taking everything into account we do wonder about the food hygiene rating! I have just looked it up and at 16th August 2023 it is at 3 out of 5 which is generally satisfactory! The serving staff were nice but we won’t be returning any time soon.

Visited for breakfast this morning with family. No indoor option for cafe although inside has more option to socially distance than the narrow balcony outdoors. In fact it was not possible to socially distance on the balcony with the cramped table layout. The rough style wooden tables definitely not suitable for sanitising effectively between customers. When asked why outside only open I was told they couldn’t get the staff to open indoors. Strange given so many students have already left college. Food was served carvers style but in takeaway cardboard boxes with plastic cutlery. Had to go back in past everyone sat twice as they forgot to put sugar and serviettes in the bag and no staff outdoors to ask. It was a feat to eat a fried egg and beans from a cardboard box, impossible to cut the tough bacon with a plastic knife and fork. Butter poured out of the little pats as oil as it was in the bag with hot food so couldn’t butter the toast. The coffee was the only good thing. I’ve been many times in the past and enjoyed it and thought reasonable for a treat breakfast . This definitely wasn’t one of those occasions and they should not be charging what they are for what they are delivering! Whilst I appreciate it’s difficult under the current Covid rules most other cafes around are getting there. Overall they should not be charging what they are for what you get ! Be better off getting a nicer bacon butty and a brew at the lay-by van with similar view or the garden centre! Farm shop good though as always.

Went for breakfast. Social distancing well done. Cafe staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food was good quality and well cooked. All in a box but well presented! Pity ice cream girl was miserable but shop staff really pleasant will definitely be back. Views from cafe are to die for. Well worth a visit.

Myself & Partner visited the Albion Farm Shop/Cafe on the morning of Easter Sunday.Everything was in place for social distancing with laid out paths and arrows for direction and there was also hand sanitizer at the entrances/exits.On arrival the staff where welcoming, friendly and efficient. We opted for food from the breakfast menu which was delicious, we feel that the food & drinks where good value for money. The breakfast came in a take away tray box with a bag packed with the extras you may need including cutlery & condiments. We ate outside on the picnic benches enjoying the peace and views. The area was clean and tidy no litter. There is parking available.Thank you for the food and service we can’t wait to visit again.

after visiting the butchers we decided to get a bacon barm and a sausage barm. what a disapointment. in previous visits 10 out of 10 nice crusty bread and superb sausage and bacon. this visit although the sausage and bacon was to the usual standard the bread was something a roadside kiosk had rejected. also the service was indifferent. if you are going to charge premium prices you MUST IMPROVE!

This has long been a favourite of mine..... until now. Although it’s always been pricey, particularly the shop which in my view has over-inflated prices, I’ve always loved the views and the range of food that is on offer. However, other priorities have now taken over. I went in on Saturday after seeing my Dad on a phone call outside his care home. I have been unable to see him face to face for months..I waited to be seated. When I was, I was surprised to see that , although tables were a bit more spaced out ‘width- wise’ they were anything but in a back-to-back direction. Had I been with another person, their chair would have been banging up against the chair behind. It was like that throughout the cafe. After my coffee, I went into the shop. The shop was heaving. Obviously no control of numbers is happening. I bought a couple of things and left. I might go back again but won’t do on a Saturday which is the day I go over to see my Dad. Less focus on making a profit and more on safety of visitors would be most welcome.

Ordered soup and sandwich deal and was charged for individual items. When paying for lunch I spoke to waitress about the error and she just grunted and walked away. Spoke to another waitress and was refunded the overpayment. Sandwich and soup came and was extremely disappointed with the beef sandwich as it was no more than a sliver of meat with salad on two doorsteps !. Disappointed with lunch experience.

After first being left outside before being seated in the rain, after entering and being told the rule of 6 included a baby so we would need to be seated separately we did not no this and was told theee times very rudely by a tall gentleman, After telling him I was gluten free what could I have he said pretty much most things. After a 15 minute wait we finally had our order taken then came back and said there is no gluten free bread it’s not arrived yet after the other gentleman did not make me aware of this we decided to leave it after it all was un pleasant trip because the staff haven’t adapted to the Covid changes as you can tell from there dave and attitude, During all this another women said you can not have your car seat at the end of the table because of health and safety and told me to put her under the table when asked where do I put her. The service was terrible after visiting a few times never again will I tell others about this place or be going there myself, we ended up going to weatherspoons on two separate tables where staff where brilliant. If the owner would like to no more I would be willing to discussed this.

We have visited here in a number of occasions due to bring close to where we live. The staff are unfriendly, rude and unhelpful. One waitress in particular asked us to take our own drink back due to it being cold and on our last visit rolled her eyes when we asked her a simple question. Cakes are good as they are bought in but wouldn’t visit for anything else.

Just visited the shop and cafe today and received excellent service with the Covid measures that are being taken clearly explained to us. It is our first time back since lockdown and we felt very safe. The beef sandwich and chips exceeded expectations!

Standards seem to have slipped for breakfast and it seems to operate more like a school canteen these days. Breakfast is average at best with the toast served so cold that the butter wouldn’t melt. There are far better places for breakfast in Saddleworth.

Had so many people saying Albion farm is a place to visit for an amazing breakfast so we did. Service was ok but waiting on staff could do better by not reaching over a seated customer to hand over the plate of hot food instead of just going round and handing it over more safely. I had the eggs royale and it was excellent, hubster had the British breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered a side order of pancakes with bacon and maple syrup but have to say for £8 was absolutely not worth the money at all for 3 pancakes, the maple syrup was of a miniscule amount and the pancakes themselves were rock hard and inedible, so much so we got our money back for them. We went into the shop and it was nicely laid out with lots of choice. Some things were very expensive for what they were but other bits were of an ok price. We would visit again

Ordered four fish & chip meals in addition to two other choices. All four were served up with overcooked chips many of which were dark brown and crispy. Two members of party did eat the chips. Fish was excellent but chips spoiled what should have been a nice family meal. Nowhere near H U normal standard.

Called in for the fresh carvery today.Freshly cooked gammon, but when I asked for some gammon, I was served with some which was hidden behind the fresh joint. Not fresh,a different colour to the fresh joint.I thought the idea of Toby carvery is that you see the fresh meat carved in front of you.Spoke to the manager and he said he would check about what I said and walked off and served someone else.Very unprofessional for a manager.
