Nostalgic cafe tucked behind a gift shop front we sampled their Homemade cakes and a big pot of tea Lovely friendly service

Bakes custom made me a 30th Birthday cake box with various treats. This was during the COVID-19 lockdown so everything was done over social media messages. The service was excellent and of course was the cakes and biscuits. Would highly recommend.

Stopped for a glass of red and ordered a pizza for takeaway. I have to say they are the best pizza’s for miles around. A must visit place.

Nice place but breakfast overpriced

Best fish and chips in Saddleworth. I travel there from Mossley as it's worth it. Crisp and tasty fish. Chips good enough. And cheese and onion pie is 5 stars too.

Lovely setting (especially when snow on ground!).Food is very good and staff are nice,and helpful... will return when in area.

Comfort Haddock absolutely beautiful. Beautiful sauce. Melted in the mouth. My husband had the steak pie, delicate pastry with so much filling. Great service as always.

Restaurant clean and friendly, staff polite as always. We chose from the smaller menu.. we ordered the creamy garlic mushrooms as they're usually delicious... however this time was drizzle with balsamic vinegar... spoiled the dish. The parfait and home made chutney was delicious but served with dry warm bread or aneamic floppy toast? The pepper corn chicken came which was fantastic as always. However the liver and bacon came still bleeding, very off putting. Next was crumble and custard, very tasty, also Sticky toffee pudding served piping hot. There was no need to put a wilted viola flower on a hot dessert. ... yes it was busy and service was a little slower today. The place is delightful and staff lovely so would still recommend. Obviously not the same chef.

Do enjoy the lion. Especially on a sunny day. Sadly the beer selection is not great and service can be very inefficient at the bar. Seems like they need 1 more till. Food is good and big portions. Can't beat the beer garden on a sunny day and the staff are always really friendly.

Relaxing atmosphere with good value meals with large portions. The steak rag pudding was delicious with its fat chips, jug of extra gravy and mushy peas. It is a shame that there are no fires especially when its grim outside.

Most disappointed, was looking forward to this but alas mediocre fish & chips. The proprietor was using veg oil for the frying, he seemed to be catering for the veggie crowd rather than people who prefer taste. Sorry but most over hyped fishy visited in a long time.

My husband and I had Afternoon Tea on Saturday 27th July. Absolutely gorgeous. Very fresh. The best we have ever had. The young lady serving was delightful.

Excellent food and coffee. Free top up. Couple who own the cafe couldn't be more helfull. Very pleasant visit.
