Visit 31 May 25: 6 4 adults 2 kids. Full English. Plain burger. Blue cheese burger. Poached eggs. The plain burger is mental. Substantial, 8.5/10. Eggs great. Blue cheese super (you must love it to have it). Overall great quality and value. Over 60s should share a burger with fries (hot and crisp). Good condiments. Would come again. Service time a bit long. 4.5 out of 5.0 Earlier visit: Cafe and shop now separated with separate entry points. Makes it better.

Used to Always buy meat from here, Used to be excellent quality much better than any pre packed in super markets,, BUT my last two visits have not been good, Chicken used to be in sealed bags and was very good, they changed supplier and now the chicken is loaded with water and has a funny taste, will not be buying no more chicken from here, Last Visit Lamb shanks were pre packed and very small they used to chop it off the beast when you ordered it fresh not pre packed, looks like they are buying pre packed meat and claiming to be a farm shop, the price of the Lamb shanks was near £10 each, in Sainsburys I can buy two Lamb shanks same price per weight for less than the price of one lamb shank price per weight in the farm shop. No more lamb shanks from here. I would go once a month and load up on my meat spending just over £200, note i say WOULD. It looks like the only items I will purchase from here any more will be the sausage and Burgers but who knows what might change. Sad to see such a good place go crap.

Beautiful scenery, a lovely location, and very friendly staff make this a great place to visit. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating available—perfect for families. A quick note: if you’re not a fan of strong cheese, the cheese and onion pie might not be for you. I found it a bit too much, but most of my family really enjoyed it, so it might just be a personal preference. Prices are mid-range; two meals came to around £30, which felt fair given the overall experience. Beyond the food, there’s a lot to enjoy: sheep grazing nearby, benches to sit and take in the view, and a fresh farm shop you can explore after your meal. Overall, a lovely spot that’s well worth a visit.

AWFUL, RUDE, Went here with my 8 month pregnant partner who had never been, had a look around the shop with plans to go cafe, asked if she could sneak through a barrier blocking shop from cafe, lady behind the till was about to allow it when the owner of the place snapped "no, she can walk around" in a very abrupt and rude tone. I told him I wouldn't be eating there because of his attitude, he then continued to shout at me as I crossed the car park, when I got to my car and was leaving he said something again when I asked what he said he fumbled his words and wasnt coherent in the slightest. Other staff seemed lovely but judging by looks on their faces when he spoke to my partner this is the owners Davids usual attitude!

The food in the cafe was really tasty and great quality. All items were reasonably priced. It's the first time I've had rump steak for breakfast and it was delicious. The only thing I would say is I thought there was a bit too much of the sweet potato puree. Overall it was really nice. The farm shop had a great selection of produce.

Although it is pretty pricey, the food sold in the cafe was wonderful. Went for the breakfast. Haven't had black pudding that good for a long time. The sausages were sublime, and if someone could tell me how to cook bacon that was crunchy and yet juicy, I'd be a very happy man. The shop, again expensive, but the choice was fabulous. Could have spent an arm and a leg. One final thing. It was a beautiful day today, and to look out over the view from the cafe window made it even better.

Stunning scenery, amazing service staff, delectable plates, truly every single bite was cooked to almost perfection. My favourite bites - mushrooms were cooked perfectly Hash brown not soggy Cheese and onion pie was something else The milkshake and the coffee because of the fresh milk and fresh cream and ice cream made it thick and creamy, I would come all the way from city centre just for another shake. The drive up was amazing The antique fluff ball basking on the menu table is the best dining companion or distraction you could ever ask for And again the staff are absolutely the kindest and most genuine people I've had the luck of being looked after by, both Ellen and Amy gave the best food and drink suggestions and also looked after us when ignorant comments were made by a random ignorant guy. Will com back often.

Been here a few times over recent months ... was initially fantastic and we returned and was ok/ish not that bad to write it off but not as good as it was... went today mid afternoon ... place virtually empty... half of seats closed off but plenty of tables still full of dishes from earlier... stood and waited to be seated as per the sign and ignored until after we helped ourselves to menus and sat down ... ordered 2 full and 1 small breakfast ... noise from kitchen sounded like teenagers having a party/fight/argument and couldnt make out which...drinks arrived with cups dirty and no sugar my wife had to shout over noise 4 times to get the attention of waitress to change cup... ... ... breakfasts arrived ...poached eggs solid... fried eggs missing ... black pudding unbreakable... tomatoes looked like sun dried as they had been held so long sausage undercooked and bacon cold ... spoke to assistant manager who seemed frightened to say anything to chef...new eggs arrived all undercooked and snotty ... new black pudding was ok ... If your going to stay open through afternoon then surely customers should get same service as your busy periods ... £50 on 3 brekkys that majority should have been binned at end of lunch time service and non of which should be served. Toast and mushrooms only good things there Offered a free cake if we have any more complaints so we left most of it and left. Waitress and assistant manager tried but severely let down by the kitchen ... Btw your food counter area is filthy. Very let down

Visited today, Sunday 9th March to the cafe for the first time. Mega busy, not sure why they can’t have people waiting the tables to order. You have to stand in a queue for 20/25 mins to be served, then wait the same amount of time for food. Coffee wasn’t the best, I had the big breakfast and for a farm shop, nothing tasted high quality. For £16 for the big breakfast it was over priced for the quality of food, when earlier in the week we were at Diggle Lock, not too far away and for the same price had the best breakfast we’d ever had. Wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Instead of offering a refund she insisted we chose something of similar value and charged us an extra £3. Went for an ice cream after. They were about £4. Cones were kept outside in a bin and were totally stale. I think this placed used to be alright but has probably gone down hill.

Popped in today for some Lunch, ordered 2 x Steak and Eggs and a child's pasta. We were told it was a 30 minute wait on food, we ordered our food at 13:20pm, whilst waiting we overheard the staff saying they've ran out of steak, funny as there's a butchers there, they'd ran out of Eggs, and pasta. They sell these in the shop next door. Nevertheless we continued to wait, after an hour we asked a member of staff, we were asked to wait another 10 minutes. Finally the food arrived, they'd given us a steak knife, but they had already sliced the steak for us, unsure why, the sweet potato puree was lumpy and the pouched egg cold to touch 1hr and 20 minutes for food, poor service. The table wasn't clean, past food dried in the groves of the table no.1 Plate size for £16 was very poor 😢 Would I recommend.... No 👎

Just been to the cafe with my son. Service was poor. Staff wandering around ignoring customers who are standing waiting to be served at the counter. I ordered 2 sandwiches and coffees which came to £34! I ordered a hot beef sandwich with caramelised onions and gravy. This is what came out. A dry ciabatta with half of it filled with roast beef. No onions and a dribble of gravy! The service and food definitely wasn’t worth how much it cost. I won’t be going again and I’ll make sure I will be telling family and friends about this crappy experience.

SHOCKING! HYGIENE WARNING !!! - DO NOT BUY any meat handled in house Casually touching all raw (slimy) chicken breast without a glove ,sealing the bag ( same hand ) tainting it in the process and touching everything else needed to complete the sale, then proceed to use a ( what appeared to be designated ) cloth cleaning both hands and processing raw beef pushing with the same hand !!! that had to be first as it's probably the first things customers should read, now for the whole experience : The whole overall place is well placed with a nice view, but it appears minimal effort has been put into it (from design, to some staff and training) , with hygiene terrible lacking, we had to return the cutlery and checked 3-5 new cups until we found ONE that was clean and not smelling bad, even then my partner almost puked due to the cup not being clean, ( not sure if we were the lucky winners of the dirty dish roulette of what but given the older lady attitude and nonchalance I'd say she couldn't care less if we got sick or what, she got paid) , went back to and older lady to inform her about the issue (after previously we found 3-5 dirty cups) and she appeared annoyed I'd return with an issue, showing 0 care for H&S and out of curiosity I'd asked her what she plans to do about this whole issue, to which she replied with a confused " what do you mean, do" clearly showing no care in the world for H&S. (The cauliflower parmesan cheese and burger were good, unfortunately we ate prior to seeing how the meat was handled, otherwise we would have left that instance - and just to be clear we will never return here) If they would have gotten a H&S inspector see what I did , they would have probably been shut that moment.

Food, service, staff and cleanliness in the cafe, very good. However, apart from the tea and the sausage everything else on my plate was ‘just warm’. A little disappointed. We usually go to Gordon Riggs for Sunday breakfast. Over the 20yrs of visit there, there has never been one single meal any of our party have ever been disappointed with. For the price of the food at Albion Farm, get the simple principals right. Serve hot food HOT please, not much to ask. Sort out your toilets too please. Only one ‘working’ and that’s not flushing at all. Disgusting. End of rant. NCA!!!

First time hear and will be the last. Breakfast came out luke warm the sausages dry and like they'd been reheated more than once. The 'poached' egg was more like a boiled egg not one bit runny. Toast was inedible it was that hard and cold. Bacon was also luke warm. Became obvious why when my husband peered into the kitchen and seen all the stuff premade in buffet style containers. Expected a lot more quality than that at a farm shop especially with the prices charged. Very disappointed especially after driving 40 minutes to get there. You need to do better at those prices. We could have gone to a restaurant chain for a buffet breakfast if that's what we wanted and got half the price. Expected freshly cooked.

Well I was warned about this place however I had to see for myself. I frequently visit farm shops all over the north west searching for the best produce for me and my young family as I refuse to shop at the run of the mill supermarkets and this is by far the most overpriced place I have found ever. Someone said to me be careful going there as you'll pay the Saddleworth tax. I thought "no" they can't overcharge you for locally sourced fruit, vegetables and meat but my word was I wrong. Not only was it horrifically over priced but also not very fresh. Albion farm shop you should be ashamed with yourselves for charging the extortionate prices you do to people just trying to feed there families fresh produce. YOU NEED TO DO BETTER

Me and my family came in today and was able to be seated straight away as it wasn’t busy. There were 5 of us in total. Food was absolutely delicious so compliments to the chefs. I had my 5 week old baby with me and our waitress Emma was able to provide me some boiling water so I could prepare a bottle for her. She also took the baby off my hands so I were able to eat my food. Such a kind gesture and she was very accommodating. We have no complaints and will definitely be returning. So a big thank you to Emma, your service was outstanding.
