It was a good experience to visit the pub with a pint of Staropramen. I heard that this place is a traditional old English pub located in the historic Cains brewery building.

This place has nice meal options. For starters I had the BBQ chicken wings, the sauce on this was amazing and I also had the English rib eye steak which was so tasty and nice. The atmosphere was great, there was live music and the service was exceptional. All kudos to Lucian, who attended to our table(he delivered excellent and professional service), made the evening even better.

Had drinks in the crown on Saturday it was very busy in front and back rooms was served very fast and lady that served us was very helpful as we needed gluten free drinks for one of our party lady had black hair wearing a branded shirt .we got served by her all day and she even remembered all our drinks what a great pub would highly recommend 👍

The service was wonderful and attentive, the atmosphere was great. There was a good choice of main meals for vegans. It's dropped 2 stars however as 1. No vegan starter? We wanted a 3 course meal, so had to do hummus and olives from the light bites. Which was annoying as my husband had kofta which also came with olives, bread and hummus. So it was essentially a repeat. Even a vegan friendly soup would have been nice? 2. Second star gone as the sausage and mash was absolutely tiny. It was tasty, very VERY tasty, but so tiny it left me hungry after eating. For £19 I'd expect more than I got , even some peas? My husband's kofta meal was huge though, so I was sat there watching him eat for ages, he ended up giving me some of it. Shame as it actually was the best tasting sausage and mash I'd ever had! The only vegan dessert on offer was absolutely delicious however!

Ain’t been to this great pub for a while so looked forward to a proper beer. Alas it’s followed the trend of not serving beer. On draught we had 3 lagers a cider, a pale ale (pale ale is probably the most disgusting ale I’ve ever had the misfortune to taste) and a stout. No bitter or golden or amber ale. What’s happened to this place? Still a nice pub but for gods sake get your beer sorted

I dont usually leave bad reviews however the food here is just not the one, walked in and there was 0 atmosphere, asked for a medium rare stake which wasnt the largest so was expecting what was the to be tasty, it was cooked so rare and the chips was flaking away. Also the pepercorn source has got to be the worse i have had very watered down. Fish and chips was also ordered and its safe to say it wasnt great. I hate leaving bad reviews however this place was just not what it should be for the price and would hate other customer to expect it to be more than what it is

I didn't try the food but the restaurant area seemed very popular. The staff are very friendly and the karaoke was a good laugh. Prices are ok for a city centre pub and it's worth a visit. There is a disabled access toilet on the ground floor and further toilets upstairs.
