Had drinks in the crown on Saturday it was very busy in front and back rooms was served very fast and lady that served us was very helpful as we needed gluten free drinks for one of our party lady had black hair wearing a branded shirt .we got served by her all day and she even remembered all our drinks what a great pub would highly recommend 👍

A lovely pub just as you leave Lime Street station. Very convenient after a long trip with two very hungry people! The staff were really friendly and the food options were really good! We got tapas to share and a main meal each, which we actually found to be too much which is not like usual pub food!! The drinks were served quickly and the staff seemed very knowledgable on drinks available and pairings. Would definitely recommend this pub to anyone who has travelled and needs the pick me up!

Came in with my boyfriend for a bite to eat before going shopping in town. Pub is the first thing you see after coming out station which is just amazing and saves hassle of looking round - service was excellent and staff were all so friendly, gave us some recommendations of things to do and directions. Food came out quickly and tasted amazing - we will definitely be back again, thankyou!

Before starting a ten days holiday in Benidorm my twin brother and I decided to jump the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre and visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, one of the first we visited was The Crown Hotel. A beautiful Victorian era pub, set over two floors, pubby decor and furnishings, cool looking serving bar's and the most distinctive feature of the pub are the beautiful and ornate ceilings ,its just an amazing pub. We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered pale ale's from Oakham Brewery, these were served in excellent condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, well balanced, well crafted, hints of citrus, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish,a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Crown Hotel we had a great time. The Crown Hotel is easy to locate along Lime Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 9am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Came here for food and drinks before a show at empire theatre. Food was delicious and service was great. However my only issue was the fact that I couldn’t change the onions on the burger for tomato instead.. staff said something like it was to do with stock and they’re not allowed to make changes. Which I find bizarre because I only wanted a few slices of tomato! Yet my friend was able to swap mash for chips?? Maybe something so simple shouldn’t have annoyed me so much but I just don’t get why this was an issue if I wanted to swap salad for salad.. This obviously won’t stop me coming, I just wanted you to know I really like tomatoes on my burger and maybe I’m allowed it in the future haha. See you next time!

Love this place, stopped for a meal with my parents and sister, had a meal and a drink, reasonably priced food and drinks, everything was delicious, we will be back

I had the Mac and cheese, my Mum had the cheese and bacon burger, both were spot on! The building is so beautiful, make sure you look around

Popped in for lunch after arriving on the train following a long journey. We have been here before but not for many years. The pub has a really lovely traditional atmosphere. The food was piping hot, a huge plateful and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great value for money. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return

Visited Saturday. Atmosphere was great. Pub was busy but staff were quick, efficient and friendly. Food was nice. With the Philly Cheese Steak being delicious. We stayed for several rounds which were all perfect. Be back again when travelling in and out of Liverpool!

Steak and ale pie was delicious. Went down a treat with the wide range of pristine cask ales, the ruby mild which I was recommended by the knowledgable bar staff was great.

Got to say me and my friends enjoyed our visit at your pub the food was great. Couple of large mixed grills and double burgers. It was a little busy but food came down with in 20 minutes and cooked perfectly. The staff where nice and the beers where perfect. We will be back in the future

We went to the crown 4 of us for a catch up before the theatre we all had tapas recommended by bar staff who were very chatty and helpful . Food all came together and was excellent value for money very tasty and hot we received a check back from staff and even brought us drinks to our table to save our food from going cold how very thoughtful we had a great couple of hours spent there will return again soon

Wide variety of lagers and cask available, all drinks served were perfect and served quickly by staff when it was busy. Will definitely visit again!

Love this pub and always visit when we are in town. But went there on Easter Monday and was told the prices had gone up for that day because it was Bank Holiday!! Disgraceful way to treat customers !!! Very bad. Won't be back and we have drank there for at least 20 years.

Ok so this was difficult to rate. The pub and atmosphere is a 5. We pooped in for a quick meal and a pint before the theatre. The pub is welcoming and friendly. We went through to the restaurant part and chose our food and ordered no issue. The food arrived plates were hot and the good was fresh and very hot. My hubby had a Pig burger with pulled pork on. It was well presented and cooked well he enjoyed it. I ordered fish and chips and I knew it was described as that but thought I'd try anyway. Again the plate was hot and the food too. The fish was the issue. It tasted of nothing and the batter was very strange. Not crisp in any way and was chewy and elasticity. Now I know when you order "fish" it can be pollock or hake but honestly this wasn't like fish at all. No flakes just slimy. Really sorry but it wasn't pleasant at all. I left most of the batter and ate the fish. Its such a shame as it looked so nice and a lot of effort was put in to making it look good. If you have room in tour budget I would recommend changing the fish. Or try it yourselves. It served a purpose for us was fresh cooked food before the theatre

Was in town for the football and as we had a wait for a connecting train, popped in for a pint as it's over the road from Liverpool Lime Street station. The pub was fairly busy with a good atmosphere but the friendly and knowledgeable staff served punters fairly quickly. A good range of cask ales and keg beers with bottles in the fridge. The pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord was in great condition. Worth a visit.

My pale ale was really good, well balanced, well crafted,hoppy but not overhopped, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub,hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with ales served in such good condition. Had a beautiful tapas here the staff are amazing especially ruth who served us all day and even when a man was verbal abussive to the staff. Ruth remained professionl on asking to leave the premises ensuribg the rest of her customers had a plesent evenibg Shannon is a star in helping Ruth maintaining a happy environment. My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop into The Crown Hotel ,a pub we always look forward to visiting on any trip to Liverpool City Centre we take. I love the look of this pub, 2 roomed, an upstairs room ,a great looking serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport, the most distinctive feature of the pub interior and the most beautiful is the great looking ceiling, absolutely amazing. We were here on a Thursday night, pub was fairly quiet ,a nice laid back vibe ,we had a study of their real ale's and we both opted to have pale ale's from Wychwood Brewery, these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was really good, a well balanced pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it we both enjoy, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother Stephen, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Crown Hotel we had a great time. Popped in for a couple for of drinks with my partner and some friends after being over the Christmas markets at St George’s Hall. Been a few times over the years staff always friendly and always a good atmosphere.

Food was spot on I had jerk chicken flatbread my aunt had scampi and chips both were delicious our server was David very attentive will certainly return 😀

When we stay in Liverpool we always have a drink in the Crown being a Sunday afternoon we watched the live football and also Liverpool were home so it was good to hear the fans views.The crown has a good range of beers on offer I had a pint of Camden a sign of the times I had to pay £5,50 for it.Will be back next time we visit Liverpool.

This bar is the first travellers come to when leaving Lime Street railway station. It is an absolute must to have a drink here as the decor is stunning. The plaster ceiling has been kept in what looked like it original style. Never have I seen such a splendid ceiling in a drinking house.

This pub has interesting decor and worth going to just to have a look although we couldn't fault the food. Burgers were very tasty and good value for money. Staff serving food were friendly with a smile. Those behind the bar not so smiley! Toilets were clean, ladies being upstairs.

Had pizza with the buy one get one free on a Tuesday. Fantastic pizza, I had the hawaiian pizza which actually had fresh pineapple not the usual tin topping. Went in for a few drinks. Service was good. Even though it was busy. My only gripe is I asked for a disabled toilet and was told there wasn't one. Very discrimatory. To get to the ladies you have a steep set of windy steps. The young girl I asked was rude

Now what can I say about the crown.my friends an I have been visiting this bar for 10 yr.we come from Newcastle at least once a year.1st bar and last bar we visit.We were there on the 16 ,17 and 18th of July 2021.As usual the staffroom,Georgia,Julie and ella were amazing ,friendly and very helpful.I have never had the food but it always looks amazing.would recommended this lovley bar to anyone one.see u not yr staff.Thanks again.

Fantastic pub located just opposite Lime Street station. Superb range of draught and cask ale is excellent a point proved by fact pub is in the good beer guide. Service was top notch and staff were very friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Staff are very welcoming meals are great and good value. Clean and tidy all the time and banter spot on will be back . And bring some of my mates next time.

We popped into the Crown whilst waiting for our return train and was welcomed by such lovely staff who guided us where to sit. They were so helpful when ordering and when the food came we were not disappointed. I’m leaving very full and happy as are my husband and 13 year old son. An overall pleasant experience.
