It's ok for a cheap bite and drink, don't expect a 5* restaurant, the key is in the name, cafe! Nice cakes and scones and quick service.

Reasons to visit: The "Scouse" was superb and super tasty (up there with Liverpool's best) at £8.95 The location right on the quayside (eat in or or eat outside at the waters edge) ... perfect. The service was very quick and cheerful. The facilities (loo's) are just opposite and clean The whole ambience ... maritime and right on the dock side makes it a must.

Rude staff who throw your receipt straight in the bin without asking if you want it, then refuse to give you the receipt. Very rude, very unhelpful, avoid.

After visiting the International Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum, we needed some refreshments. This quiet cafe in the main building was a good choice. Scones and jam with coffee were very good. We sat outside overlooking the dock. The main entertainment was watching the big gulls clean up any food that was left behind. Be mindful of them if you’re eating.

an ill-mannered woman who cleaned the bar forced me to unplug my mobile phone after eating and spending about £40. I'm a tourist and I chose to stop there just to charge my phone and take pictures.

Een typisch museumcafe, met eigenlijk alleen tosties en broodjes op het menu Waren ook 3 gewone maaltijden . Personeel vriendelijk en efficiënt.

This is a nice cafe serving great coffee, sandwiches, toasties and cakes. It is not as expensive as the other cafes and restaurants in the Albert Dock. It has a great location. You can sit inside or out. It has the advantage that it is on the correct side, so you can sit in the sun.

The food didn't even come. We waited forever then when I asked they said we don't have what you asked for even tho I had payed for it. Kids left hungry as we had to go because we had other plans to attend. When given a refund they said take a free chocolate bar. (because that makes everything OK) Shocking service.

Dirty, scruffy tables, expensive coffee and to top it all, as i was ordering our coffees and cakes inside, my parents with my newborn baby were being asked to move away as they havent ordered anything from the cafe. Avoid...

I like it here because you have loads of outside space to sit in the shade or in the sun. Yes its not a trendy coffee house, it's very plain and simple but that is the whole point. A butty, drinks, soup or a bowl of Scouse ...... simple stuff simply served then enjoy the views no fuss.

Quite acceptable cafe with a fantastic view over Albert Docks. Feels more like a school canteen, but is clean and comfortable. Every eating place on the Docks was full of tourists apart from the cafe (next to the Maritime Museum). I don't think many know it's here - not really on the main lanes of the Docks. Popped in for a bit of lunch. Very few people in so got served straight away. Very limited choice for hot meals - the place is more of a glorified coffee shop, but no harm in that. Had a really tasty bowl of Scouse (Google it). Lovely beef and big chunky carrots. With a bread roll as well. It'sl licenced so had a beer as well. Best thing is you can sit outside and take in the beautiful dock scene. I sat there in the Sun really enjoining it. Really good place to enjoy a quick meal and a drink.

I really enjoy it here inside or outside on the quayside with lovely views to watch the world go by. And the food is good ...... a bowl of Scouse with all the accompanying bits is only £5.50 .... the cheapest Scouse in the City ...... probably.

Without doubt the best view on the Albert Dock (inside cafe and the whole quarter length of the dock outside) £2 for a coffee then sit outside in the sun or shade and enjoy the peace and the view. Superb

we had a nice break in Liverpool, visited the Albert docks complex, went to the maritime museum where we sat down to have a snack & a coffee, we noticed that the lovely view was obscured by the really dirty windows, a bit disappointing considering the lovely view.

Al fin un café bueno por aquí. Y en taza de café!! Preciosas vistas y terraza tranquila. Lo malo las cagadas de las gaviotas en la mesa y el precio. 2,10£ un single expreso.

Really nice tasty food and not too expensive given the location. Scouse was excellent, panini and cakes too. All that lets it down is the questionable attitude of the owner/manager who was very sharp with staff and customer requests which is odd in a customer facing environment in a tourist destination.

One of the best views in the Albert Dock ..... sit inside or there are plenty of outside tables and chairs to take in the Albert Dock. FAB selection of butties and just go for the cheap filter coffee or the tea (real leaves) in filter pot. Very nice!

Worst cup of tea ever. After a long and enjoyable wander round the museum a good cuppa was needed. It looked like a promising cup of tea having been given separate pretty pots with loose leaves. But the water was lukewarm, there was no real milk, only those small pots of long life stuff and no spoons. Very disappointing.

The service was 'ok' from the two ladies behind the counter but nothing special. We requested a teaspoon for my young son as there weren't any on the cutlery table. We were told there wasn't any so we took our seats. However, a fantastic Greek lady appeared from the back room, apologised and gave us some teaspoons. My son was delighted. She was like a breath of fresh air and superb at her job. She checked we had everything we needed and also made friendly conversation. So often, you feel like that level of personal customer service is a thing of the past. Me and my father both have jobs where we always pride ourselves on giving top standard personal customer service so to be served by this lady was an absolute joy and much appreciated. She transformed our experience and really cheered us up when we had been feeling tired. People like this should be pointed out and celebrated. Lovely lady, lovely cake and lovely coffee. Fantastic. I hope the other staff watch her and learn!! We will return in the future thanks to that fabulous lady.

I have visited this 'Cafe' before and feel sad that I must sound a negative note n this occasion but it's a long-held principle of mine to leave a less than glowing report when things are clearly not right. The food was good, tasty and I think fresh. No problem there then. Prices were more than they deserved to be and anything requested out of the ordinary, was met with indifference! I refer to the wooden plank' that many such establishment now supply as a substitute for a teaspoon! horror of horrors but where have we got to if you have to stick (pardon the pun) a piece of wod into your tea/coffee to stir in either the milk or coffee - and can you use this to sccop up the last tasty bit of froth from your coffee cup...NO! I asked for a teaspoon but no one returned to say yes or no! Bad show!

Firstly I’d like to say that the reviewer who posted last with an awful review, I was sat on number 2 near your table with my partner and baby and heard your witch hunt! You were rude to the bar man by clicking your fingers at him etc. We ordered our meals about the same time, I had steak the same as you, my partner SFC and both were delicious we left nothing on our plates. The pub wasn’t cold I’d even taken my coat off and the bar man was in a black short sleeved shirt! We eat at the Pear Tree often and everything is as it should be.

Pretty sure I've just been overcharged- small s&p box £9.50, fried rice £4.50 & a small sausage....total was £16.10 so the sausage was £2.10? Felt uncomfortable querying it as there's about 7 staff on the other side of the counter and they can't get you served & out of the shop fast enough, its quite intimidating. Food was nice but will not be returning.
