Absolutely amazing food, lovely decor, atmosphere and friendly staff!!! Group of six of us ate here (birthday celebration). Food from starters to desserts all faultless, tasty, presented nicely, generous portions. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return in the near future.

The Old Harkers Arms in Chester is probably the best pub in the World! Scenically placed by the canal, with great food but itās the staff that really make it. They literally canāt do enough for you, always welcoming and attentive. I started going about a year ago and now travel to Chester every week just to visit this pub. I donāt know how they maintain such a level of service across all staff members but Iām never disappointed. Special shout out to Mark who, having finished his shift, with coat on and half way out the door, spotted my nearly empty glass and came back in to pour and deliver me another pint before he left! I tell all the Uber drivers that take & fetch me about how good it is and they always agree itās got a great reputation!

So sad to see this beautiful pub turn into an untidy, fast food premises with dirty tables and run by very young adults who were quite unfriendly. My husband said the cider they now serve was awful and theyād run out of pinot grigio, my tipple. We are locals but wonāt be returning until it is restored to what it should be and used to be. A good boozer selling good, honest food. Would have given one point but the live singer on was really good.

We had the beef Sunday roast today and it was amazing. The beef was cooked beautifully almost didnāt need a knife to cut it. The four freshly cooked vegetables were delicious and the gravy was definitely the best I have tasted. Didnāt have room for a pudding although looking at the next table I wish I had. The staff were great company telling us stories of the centuries old pub. Well worth a visit. Iāll certainly be going back.

We usually stay much closer to Chester's city centre when visiting, but this time we opted for a spur-of-the-moment booking at The Cock O' Barton, and we're so glad we did! At just Ā£95 for the night, including breakfast, it was great value for money, and we were not disappointed! The room was extremely comfortable, well-equipped, and located in a charming courtyard separate from the pub and restaurant, which offered a nice bit of privacy. Breakfast was a great start to the day ā good quality food, with excellent, polite, and friendly service that really stood out. The easy drive to and from Chester posed no issues, adding a refreshing change to our usual city-centre stays. We highly recommend The Cock O' Barton for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, stay close to Chester.

We stumbled upon this pub during a day out and decided to pop in for lunch. Surprisingly, it was quite empty, which is baffling given how tasty the food was! We opted for the tapas, and every dish was delicious. The staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this place based on my visit.

Have ordered from here ( delivery )for months now and food always been delicious however the past two orders have been very disappointing ( both fish ) the batter on the fish was very overcooked . Maybe new staff but not up to their usual very high standards. Will continue to order for now but if this happens again will be going elsewhere
