The best restaurants serving British food in Knutsford Cheshire East North West

Vine aquí para una segunda visita y me gusta mucho el lugar. no es como ir a una de las cafeterías en Knutsford, que son estupendas, pero son diferentes en la manera en que se puede disfrutar tanto como experiencias distintas. visite aquí me sentí como un sobrino favorito visitando una tía que posea una enorme casa de campo. Desde el largo y sinuoso camino en coche al hermoso entorno del salón de té con techos abovedados con vigas y 16 th chimenea del siglo XVIII que tiene su propia historia, a la amplia selección de tés y pasteles de su propietaria fue una experiencia que recomiendo a cualquiera.

Table for 8 ladies wedding dress shopping. Nothing too much trouble with fantastic service throughout. Would highly recommend this place. Thankyou for helping to finish off our shopping day. Food was fabulous Xx

Great spot for lunch offering a classic cafe menu with Turkish options too.

We love visiting The Angel as it’s such a friendly and welcoming pub. We enjoyed a 3 course lunch from the Xmas menu today and we were extremely impressed with the choice and quality of food. The portion sizes were very generous and the service was outstanding as always. Thank you to Debbie and your fabulous and attentive team for always going above and beyond to make sure your customers are well looked after.

Had my works do here on Friday and had a brilliant night. Food was amazing. All the staff were lovely. Definitely would visit again

Average food more like a pub, raw onion in the scotch egg bhaji, bang bang cauliflower poor, fish and chips were tiny and fish dry. So over priced for below average food.

We booked this hotel on a Half Board basis, we had confirmation of the room and a separate confirmation confirming the dinner booking. We arrived and upon check were told “the chef goes home at 4, so we can’t do you an evening meal” we had no apology, nothing. We asked for a partial refund of £30 as we thought this reasonable, we were given a crumpled £20 note of the till and told “that’s the best we can do” they went on to tell us breakfast was 8-10am the next morning. Disgruntled and disappointed, we arrived in our room, it was ok but missing bath towels, teaspoons and had the smallest TV we’ve ever seen in a hotel room. We decided to make the best of our stay, booked a nice Italian restaurant and enjoyed a good nights sleep, up on waking we were looking forward to our breakfast and went downstairs to the bar/restaurant at 9am only to be totally dismayed to find the doors locked and the whole bar/restaurant in total darkness with no staff to be seen or heard, we knock the doors that said private on and had no response. So, again we didn’t get what we paid for and had to go out to eat! We’ve been many hotels over the years and this is by far one of the worst ones we’ve stayed in with absolute worst service. We go away for a break once in a while and this completely ruined our weekend away. SHOCKING!

Such a great welcome from the host. So helpful, polite and upbeat and couldn’t wait to tell us they had availability for us on Valentines Day! The wine, stunning, the food, incredible, the service, spot on. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Drove past with my girlfriend and we thought it looked like a nice place so turned around and popped in. Its very warm and welcoming with very friendly staff. Was intrigued by the specials board and so we both decided we would have some food as well as a drink. I have to say the food was definitely up there with the best we have had while dinning together. We will 100 percent be back soon such a hidden gem. Unfortunately we didnt take any photos of the food as was to busy enjoying every mouthful.

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere so warm and cosy I half expected a Labrador to curl up at my feet and a long-lost granny to knit me a scarf. The lighting? Perfectly dim but not in the “I can’t read the menu” way, more like the “Ahh, I’m home” way. The décor? Rustic charm with a side of “Please let me live here” vibes. Now let’s talk about the food. Sweet merciful taste buds, this was next level. I went for the lamb rump, and let me tell you, it was a thing of beauty. Perfectly cooked, blushing pink in the middle, tender enough to cut with the slightest nudge of my knife, and packed with deep, rich flavor. The accompanying sauce was luxurious, complementing the meat without overpowering it, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection—no sad, lifeless greens here, just fresh, vibrant goodness. And because one incredible dish wasn’t enough, I also had the mini pie duo. Flaky, buttery pastry wrapped around rich, slow-cooked fillings that made every bite feel like a warm hug. The gravy? A masterpiece in itself, thick, glossy, and full of flavor. Whoever is running that kitchen deserves a standing ovation. And it wasn’t just my plate that was a masterpiece. As I glanced around, I saw dish after dish being served, each one looking like something straight out of a food magazine. Towering burgers stacked high with juicy patties, glistening with melted cheese. Steaming hot pies with golden pastry that cracked perfectly with every forkful. Succulent steaks cooked exactly to order, glistening with juices and paired with the kind of crispy onion rings dreams are made of. Every plate that passed by had me wondering if I should have ordered one of everything. And then there was Sarah. Oh Sarah. If waitressing were an art, she’d be Picasso. If customer service were a sport, she’d be the Usain Bolt of the hospitality world. This woman didn’t just take my order, she delivered an experience. She was warm, friendly, and made me feel like I was the most important customer in the room. My drink was never empty, my meal arrived faster than my brain could process hunger, and her smile? Brighter than the Blackpool Tower at Christmas. On top of all that, she was effortlessly beautiful, with a kind of natural charm that made the whole dining experience even better. She had that lovely, easygoing presence—pleasant, cute, and full of life, the kind of person who makes you feel instantly welcome. If you love phenomenal food, five-star service, and an atmosphere that feels like a warm hug, The Leigh Arms is the place to be. Whether you’re popping in for a casual bite or planning a feast that will make your future self jealous, just go. Bring your friends, bring your nan, bring your neighbour’s dog, but whatever you do, don’t miss out on this gem. Five stars? Nah, this place deserves a whole constellation.

So, booked this place months ago for afternoon tea. Really looking forward to it. 2 x vegan advertised as vegan afternoon cream tea. On arrival our table was set with a dairy free menu that had meat - and told this is what is on our afternoon tea. Has to approach staff fo inform them that we are vegan and not dairy free. They apologsied and changed the menu for us. Then we for brought pots of cream made from dairy. Again had to offer these back to the staff. The plates came out - wow I have never experienced such dire vegan food choices since becoming vegan 20 years ago. 4 finger sandwiches of which 2 were carrot on bread. I was literally given veg on bread. Then adding insult, no cream came to the table. I Walked to the front desk to queery why no cream is served - all blank faces looked at me and then the lady behind the kitchen decided to rudely comment with a shrug and say ‘there’s your answer , I don’t know ‘ just wow. I haven’t been as appalled as this for a long time to be spoken to like that. Cream tea with no cream. I explained you can buy dairy free squirt cream, pouring cream and it is simple to make your own. But the attitude of this lady was appalling. Scones not eaten by my husband as he cannot eat dry scones. Upon exit I asked to speak to whom ever was in charge. A lovely apologetic supervisor spoken to me. I articulated how I feel it has been very unfair to charge the same price for a vegan afternoon tea - we were minus the cream and had zero alternatives given to us like vegan turkey etc. I honestly felt like it was the year 2000. Vegan food is in abundance now- there really is no excuse to omit items or put veg on bread. The lady said the manager would phone me to discuss , of course a week on I am still waiting for the phone call …

We called in for lunch and I chose the chicken tikka wrap and my friend chose an egg mayonnaise sandwich on brown bread. The chicken tikka wrap was tasteless and dry and the egg mayonnaise sandwich hardly had any filling and the bread was dry. For around £20 I would have expected something half decent. The staff were very pleasant and the cafe itself is very nice but shame about the food ,

Came for Sunday lunch, food was fabulous, piping hot and large portions. Staff were polite and very friendly, would highly recommend.

Had such a lovely breakfast there.
