Booked a large table for my birthday this week. We have young children but I get bored of pizza express- and this place really is excellent!! Staff took great care of us, friendly and really organised. Food is SO reasonable and actually really great too!! I’ve not been here for years, but it’s slowly becoming a favourite of ours to eat!! Thanks for a lovely meal guys!!

Overnight stay. Comfy bed and nice bathroom but the decor was rather disappointing with the room not looking as good as the photos. Breakfast basket was acceptable but the addition of orange juice would’ve been nice. Overall, it felt overpriced considering decor and lack of full breakfast.

The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they were so happy and cheerful. The food was excellent and so reasonable. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Visited (unplanned!) as a group for lunch of 6 adults and 7 children after a morning in Tatton Park between Christmas and New Year. The staff were very accommodating in making space for us and the young lady who looked after us during our meal was great. The food was good too; it's fairly standard pub-level grub but everything was well cooked and perfectly tasty. Would happily go back if in the area.

Had a great night 15th December at the Angel hotel it was a themed might the food was excellent ,portion size were large the plates hot and the food was piping hot the Micheal Buble tribute and All for just £35 excellent value!!

What an amazing night me and my family have had. Meals to die for, at a lovely price, staff really friendly amazing with my children. My favourite place to eat when going out. Happy family happy belly and a smile at the end.🙂

Absolutely lovely place we all had a Sunday diner and it was beautiful especially the Yorkshire puddings , they even do a kids roast diner. The service was great staff were all super friendly and welcoming , the food was delicious and very reasonably priced I would highly recommend , we will definitely be returning soon

A birthday lunch ruined by poor and very, very slow service, not to mention cold food when it finally arrived and not as it’s shown on the menu. All in all, a very disappointing experience that we’ll not be repeating.

After finding out the pub had started serving breakfasts, we were keen to try it and we were so pleased we did! We thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was quality and the service was great too. It was nice to be in a relaxed environment and not feel rushed like we do in some of the local cafes. I’d highly recommend it and will definitely return. It was really good value for money too with unlimited tea and coffee for an extra £1!

Great place to stay right in the centre of Knutsford. A really warm welcome from Debbie who was so helpful with parking and taxi recommendations. A nice breakfast hamper provided too in the room next morning as they don’t provide cooked breakfast. Even though it’s on the Main Street it was really quiet at night. Would have been perfect if we could have had a cooked breakfast but would still strongly recommend The Angel. Thank you!

We only went in because the Rose & Crown wasn’t serving food, but I’m so glad we did go in. It’s the first time we have eaten in there - it won’t be the last. I had the house salad with chicken & veg kebab - it was really tasty. Hubby had the gammon. We both really enjoyed the food and the front of house team were very good too.

Beautiful Sunday Lunch, this meal was delicious tasted like my nans cooking, veg was perfect, homemade gravy, Yorkshire pud was tasty homemade, can't fault the food, very reasonably priced too. The staff and new owner are very Frendly and looked after my Aunt who needed a small portion

Very cold pub . Five ordered meals served 15 minutes apart. Spoilt the family get together. Won't be returning. On the one positive note food very tasty.

Sat outside here for drinks. Service here was excellent and its a fab place to watch the world go by on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Very reasonably priced too, which is a bonus in Knutsford.

Friendly staff, great food, sensible prices and really good beer. Excellent. We had a table for four people, everyone enjoyed their food, the menu offered a really extensive choice, the service was quick and nothing was too much trouble. Really a very enjoyable evening.

I was really nervous about venturing out with social distancing.. but after my visit here I was instantly put at ease and the staff were great and really helpful.. The food came out looking great and was piping hot and tasted amazing even my daughter cleared her plate which is very unusual when eating out. We will definitely be back very soon.. Well done to the team they are doing a fantastic job!

Visited during the makers market on Sunday . The food was hot but tasteless I had the sea bass ,the fish was nice but the new potatoes with were supposed to be crispy done in olive oil and they were just boiled , smashed and bland the poached egg was just egg white no yolk it was drowned in sauce and wilted spinach was missing. My partner's fish and chips was ok but nothing special . Overall it was hot and edible but if I was to visit again probably just for a pint.

Stayed in Knutsford for 2 nights had drinks here on Friday and an evening meal on Saturday, enjoyed both visits, pleasant staff, friendly service and excellent food. Cost reasonable. Would recommend this restaurant to friends. Will visit when in Knutsford again. 8/10.

No booking, walked in to a relaxed pub and a few people eating. Ordered food and drinks at the bar quickly and service was quick and friendly. I had fish and chips which was very good, my wife had a large side of fresh vegetables all well priced. Atmosphere was good and made for an enjoyable evening.

Another pub we called in on our Xmas walkabout. It was early evening so not too many people in. It had a great choice of Beers and, a quick glance at the menu showed a great choice at very reasonable price. Would like to try it some time.

Four of us ordered Sunday roast lunch; two ordered gammon, the other two ordered roast beef with all the trimmings. All four meals were disappointing. The vegetables were all very much under cooked; harder than al dente. The Yorkshire pudding was tough, and the gravy supplied was the same for all four dishes. The beef was passable and the gammon came in thin strips. Most of the vegetables remained on our plates at the end and when we made a comment to the waitress she really did not show much regret or apologies "I'll let the chef know".

So we came out for a little bite to eat, I ordered the steak anwd pepper baguette and asked for no peppers when it arrived I asked the waitress if this is the right amount of meat and then I got informed this is all portioned out and would of looked more if I had kept the peppers on, really £8.75 for this what a joke should be really ashamed as a company and please don’t blame brexit.Customer service 0 out of 10Food -2 out of 10

We were in knutsford for the makers market but we didn’t fancy any food on the go, we wanted a nice meal to be able to sit down and enjoy what we were eating, we arrived at the pub about 11.30am not sure on what we wanted to eat, but the menu had a very good choice of meals. We opted for Sunday roast one beef, beef very tender, veg and Yorkshire pudding absolutely gorgeous flavours, 2 chicken roasts - half a chicken wow, again fantastic flavours of veg and Yorkshire pudding, Wexford chicken what lovely flavours really enjoyed this, steak pie could not fault big pie and lots of meat and 1 lighter options of fish finger sandwich, fish fingers freshly made, very light and I would recommend all the above to eat. All I can say is thank you, what lovely meals we all had. The service was quick and friendly, all food piping hot and I wish I had taken photos because it looked great too, we had lots and ate it all, thank you so much I can highly recommend.

We were passing by and looking for a Fish and Chips supper. We were drawn in by the offer of Fish & chips plus a drink for £9.95! Boy were we glad we did! Fabulous fish and chips, enormous portions, served hot and very quickly especially considering it was Friday evening and there was some kind of party/event going on in another area of the pub!Verdict...fabulous food, fantastic service and great value!!Thanks for a great evening!

We called into the Angel this afternoon,and we were quite surprised,it was fairly quiet and we decided to eat.The three of us all had Wexford chicken,and it was one of the nicest meals that we have had in a long time,the service was excellent they even brought our drinks to our table once I had ordered them at the bar. Well done Angel we will be back.

Choose this pub almost out of desperation – approaching 2pm and hunger and thirst were affecting tempers – looked ok from outside – efficient welcome – choices made and drinks ordered – mine the fillet steak baguette - tasteless chewy and unappetising – my wife the safer option of cheese and pickle sandwich – absolutely nothing special – lots of food left - drinks unfinished – desperate desire to be somewhere else – thank you

Stayed one weekday night as a couple, staff are very friendly and welcoming, well located in the centre of Knutsford, a good pub, didn't eat here though.

I visited the Angel on last busy Saturday afternoon for coffee.

This pub is okay if you are not allergic to gluten. My non-celiac friends enjoyed their desserts, fish and chips and lasagne. The kebabs weren't worth the price, however.

After taking a stroll around the village I decided to dine at the Angel. Good choice of food and I chose the 'Wexford chicken' which was absolutely lovely and very plentiful

I ordered a salad with a lime and coriander dressing - I could not detect any of these flavours and asked for little more lime. A tiny bowl of tasteless dressing was delivered to add to the other oily tasteless dressing on the salad.

Went here for lunch with my old gran, aunt, sister and 1yo nephew. Both my gran and aunt are coeliac so straight away we asked for the gluten free options... we were handed a pad of paper listing all the dishes to avoid for different allergies. They had to avoid everything! My aunt asked for a gluten free Sunday roast and some gluten free gravy for my grans meal of fish. Turns out they didn’t have any gluten free gravy, even the roast potatoes weren’t gluten free! Is any of their food made fresh to order?! They ended up having dry trout salad with no sauce because that wasn’t gluten free either! Shocking in this day and age really to not have GF options. My nephew had been ordered a child’s sausage and mash which arrived on a boiling hot plate, so my sister then had to ask for a colder plate so he could eat. It felt as thought it was really unorganised, suprising as we were the only food table in there almost!

We have been visitors to the Angel over the last 10 years or so and generally we have liked it. However in more recent times, with young inexperienced managers, they seem to have lost their way somewhat. Anyway as it was "2 meals for the price of 1" Monday, we thought that we would give it a go again. There were quite a few people in which was a good sign. The main meals arrived promptly and were very enjoyable, with the sea bass on a bed of bombay potatoes particularly liked.

Very disappointed to hear that the Angle have stopped supporting live artists / bands on Friday and Saturday nights

We called here for something to eat after a very busy day. We both ordered fish & chips & it was excellent, though the portions were large. The service was very good as was the presentation. We will definitely go again & try something else on the menu next time.

On a brief trip to Knutsford my wife and I decided to visit the decent-looking Angel and were not disappointed. Inside, there were plenty of chunky tables empty so we sat in the corner looking outside, watching seemingly hundreds of huge Chelsea tractors having to navigate through the mean Cheshire streets. Thank goodness for massive Range Rovers during these dangerous road conditions in foul weather conditions (ie standard roads with the occasional pothole on a warm and pleasant day)...

Good place to meet up with friends & have a great chat with good quality drinks. Staff helpful & efficient. Had a great singer yet sadly our table was too close so we couldn't chat anymore. There are plenty of tables further away. Been here a few times & still struggle to find the ladies. Almost ended up in the kitchen and behind the bar again!

an average meal. Wouldn't have bothered to comment but felt the menu was misleading :'butternut mash' was mashed potatoes with 3 tiny pieces of butternut squash in it. The 'wild rice' was rice with a tiny amount of wild rice and the 'bloody mary' sauce was indistinguishable from Marie Rose sauce. And please at least get the prawns get up to room temperature before you serve them. on a positive note staff were very friendly and having the TV muted was much appreciated.

Came in on Monday 15th January, Staff were very acccomidating!! We went to order the food and wanted to play a little prank on one of our friends, the staff were only to happy to play along!! We had the funeral of my husbands father in the function room at The Angel on Friday. He and his family started their life in Knutsford there in 1985 so it seemed right and fitting for this occasion.

Visited with a friend on a Tuesday evening. Beautifully presented inside and out. Menu choices were great but I would have liked a little more choice, probably me just being picky. The garlic bread was tasty and a large portion, steak cooked perfectly the peppercorn sauce was nice but a little to rich for me. Drinks were bought to our table when asked which made it a very relaxed evening. Will definitely be back soon. Thanks

My wife and I were staying in the area, and this was recommended by the guest house where we were staying. After a nice walk around Knutsford, we headed to here for lunch.We were not disappointed. The food was very good, and the staff were nice and friendly.

A nice little pub on the main street, but it gave off a chain-pub vibe inside. Nothing wrong with that, per se - but there's a selection of other unique and rustic pubs in Knutsford...

Late lunch on Bank Holiday Monday and the Angel was pretty quiet. Took a while to be served at the bar and then we waited. Ordered the food from a polite waiter and we waited and waited. The food, when it arrived, was OK but nothing special. The steak was overcooked but the sauce was nice. My friend didn't much like her lamb but the others said their venison burgers were OK. Lukewarm chips... Not cheap at £70 with a cider and J2O drinks, but not expensive either. Perhaps, they had been mighty busy over the Bank Holiday... and so were all a bit tired...

We have visited The Angel a few times now, as a couple and also a family. The food has always been lovely and the service very good.I would recommend to anyone.

This place is is a good position on the high street and they are very popular. It was busy when we went in but service was good. The prices don't break the bank either. I would go there again.

We moved to the area at the end of last year- we have been in when passing for a drink on numerous occasions. The staff are always lovely and welcoming at the bar. On the occasions we have had our young children with us and eaten lunch it has been lovely. The food is v good pub food but the relaxed atmosphere and lovely service makes it so much more. Already planning to take them for lunch again this week. There are not many places that make you feel welcome with 2 young children- no matter how good they are but the angel does. I have found it great for me and my hubby in the evening and wonderful for a family in the day. I couldn't ask for more
