The best restaurants serving British food in North West

Nice old pub but food came in the wrong order starters after mains? Portion sizes not the best tasty food but who serves 1/2 a chicken fillet. We had heard great reviews about the places but I do not think we will be returning, bit disappointing.

Lovely customer service, however the food was not worth the price. Oversized portions, the chips were oily and so was the fish. Me and my friend squeezed the chips and fish and a bucket tonne of oil and fat just came out. There was barely any flavour. Don't recommend.

Came as walk ins. It was busy, but managed to get a table. Ordered the Sunday roast and my husband, the burger. Both were delicious and homemade. Best gravy I've ever tasted. Staff were attentive and efficient. Will definitely return.

We called in here for coffee and home made scones. Lovely staff and a great menu. This is exactly the type of small business that we should all be supporting. Really appreciate how accommodating staff were, many thanks!

Don’t seem to stick to opening times or opening days. maybe time to update opening times, absolute joke!

My hubby booked our 3 night stay here as a treat for my birthday. On the second night it was my birthday so we had booked a table. We had a free entree, which was a nice surprise. When we went into the restaurant, we were the first ones in. The table had petals on it, and a birthday card, which was lovely. We ordered the beef skewer and the mushroom starter, which h were both lovely. We then had the pork belly and the duck. Both were great. Service was top notch. Our waiter was Raphael. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We were staying nearby and ate here both nights. The menu was fairly extensive ( which made choosing difficult), but the dishes we had were all homemade and delicious.

Not good. Really gone down hill. Food quality is cheap but they charge expensive. Cash only. Not much menu choice don’t do chips do salad don’t do much. Everything they do is microwave stuff it’s awful. Charged a lot for crap food and coffee. Never again Said they are now a coffee shop that’s why there isn’t much food choice well to say the core business is now a coffee shop the coffee is awful. Cheap beans. Just not good in any way

Came here, completely unplanned with partner and toddler 1 late Sunday morning. I'll be honest I'm shocked to see any bad reviews on here?! We sat outside as weather was lovely, ordered a meat beast breakfast, eggs on toast, tea cake and some tea/water. All cost about 20quid. We thought the food was lovely, service was fantastic! Very friendly and super quick aswell Couldn't fault this and will definitely be back.

I visit the chippy at least twice a week. The fish and chips a fantastic well worth the 18 miles round trip. It's cooked to perfection and a pleasure to eat. It's the best fish and chips I've found in cumbria.

The same as the garden centre, shocking customer service. The staff are very rude and tend to talk to you as if you are a five year old child. Definitely avoid.

Really didn't enjoy it. Chips were bland and tasteless. Like they were leftover from lunch. The staff seemed fine and the cans were cold from the fridge. But the main item I went in for was disappointing.
