The best restaurants serving British food in North West

no heating in april and it was a freezing day ????? no fish , and kitchen closed on bank holiday no one turned in....very lax and not proffesional, so the no heating really bad on customers all sat in there coats...will be writing to head office.

I really like this cafe, decent food, great value & lovely cakes. Unfortunately, talking about going elsewhere as just too many dogs allowed. I like dogs but this gets too much. Some customers are bringing in 2 dogs. There's not enough room & it's noisy with intermittent barking & whining. It's a shame.

Family celebration dinner. We have been to the Bay Horse many times but Craig gets better and better in my view. Every element was spot on from booking to departure.

Fantastic staff and lovely cosy hotel in such a beautiful peaceful place. We were here for dinner after a lovely walk over Muncaster fell to Dalegarth followed by a return trip on the Ravenglass Railway. The food was georgous, really well presented and cooked to perfection. The Hotel has lovely furnishing and is extremely comfortable. Following a train cancellation we had to wait around for some time. And to be honest the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Will certainly be back hopefully with toiletries and a change of clothes. One again thank you!😃

We went for a couple of drinks and witnessed a person who was in a bit of a drunken state asking for help from everyone. But when actually offered help she didn't take it 🤷. A customer informed the staff and Vanessa came out and spoke with them and gave clear and concise advice, she was a star in a difficult situation. Well done 🫶 xxx

Tried to visit this place again after an amazing experience in 2021 and found it’s closed down. Disappointing as was an outstanding place.

This was so disappointing and no idea where to start. The picture shown shows no resemblance to the food which was piled all together in a pile which we had never experienced in a restaurant before. Initially shown to a cold room to the left on entry. There were only 3 other couples in the dining room which for a Sunday Lunch was surprising. The Yorkshire pudding was soggy, beef tough and when extra gravy arrived it was lacking in taste. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Just come back from the best Christmas lunch ever at Oscar’s restaurant! The food was 5 star, the service was great and the place looked beautiful! Thank you so much ! I will be repeating g the experience next year !

I came with a large group for a school trip and they served all of us with kindness and were very gracious in our high amount of orders. It was my first time having Fish and Chips and I loved it. They did a phenomenal job and I highly reccommend.

We ordered a ribs take away, when it finally arrived it was cold. But the main problem was lack of taste and the over use of red food dye, my fingers we still red after two days.

Visited after seeing this on Tripadvisor and so glad we did. Lovely building, great service and great food. Had the breakfast. Well cooked, plate warm, good quality of ingredients and toast was two large slices with four butter pats. Def come again.

Manager very helpful, explained other pubs in the area as to where is the best for food and entertainment... we are on holiday for 6 nights and not familiar to the area so would recommend and does o% on draught..

Had a good dinner and a pint of Guinness.very cheap..

First time here, was so impressive, loved it. The food and service was great, lovely little gift shop, bought some bits which you only find in quaint little shops like what’s here. Will definately return thank you.
