We had an excellent night, The meal was first rate, and totally enjoyable, The service was done by Nessa, and she couldn't have been any friendlier and professional if she tried, We are really looking forward to our next visit .!

After a day at Cheshire oaks and the zoo we were looking forward to some nice food and drink after a long day. We were greeted by Vanessa who looked after us throughout our visit making sure the kids were happy and we were all looked after. The food came out and was amazing just what we wanted. Vanessa was really friendly and made sure we always had our drinks topped up. Will definitely be back keep up the hard work. Special thanks to Vanessa for making our visit a good experience.

Need to get new owners. Ordered Tandoori chicken that comes with rice. They said they got no rice but would charge extra for rice. Then confused we asked for bbq beef ribs only to be talked they had none. Last time ever wasted in this place!

Service was excellent, staff were very attentive and there was no wait. My partner and his brother had steak - the rump was perfect, unfortunately the sirloin was a bit tough and cooked to medium rather than rare which is what we asked for. The serving plates are a little difficult to manage, although they ensured that the food arrived super hot, food kept falling off and there wasn't enough room to cut things up properly. I had the chicken tikka which was very tasty. The free drinks were a very nice accompaniment.

Came to the woddies on busy Friday night. Food was amazing and customer service were brilliant too. Epically when staff were ran off there feet. Will definitely return

Visited here on Saturday night for a little festive catch up with friends. Food was lovely, atmosphere was great considering and Terri was absolutely brilliant nothing was too much trouble for her and the rest of the staff. Will definitely revisit again soon

Visited on tues with my family ( 4 of us in total) and from start to finish we found this was more than just a pub experience, Dave and Nat were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, COVID restrictions were in place and we felt extremely safe. Our food came out quickly and was hot and extremely tasty, they have the balance spot on here and we will definately be recommending to all our friends. We visited today it was my first time here but my family had been here before. I was very impressed by the staff but a lady called Clair stood out to me , I think she may have been the manager if not she should be . Nothing was a problem for her she appeared to be well liked by what I guess where locals . She was ran off her but done it all with a smile on her face . The food was very nice . The place was well staffed I think I seen 5just behind the bar alone at one point . The place was clean and tidy empty’s didn’t sit on tables for long . I would come here again .

Went in 4 quick drink with friend. Nice enuf pub n drinks quite cheap. Staff great but looked bored. Most of time we wer there they wer stood at at end of bar. One, looked like manager, was on her phone most of time, not good 2 see.

Went for lunch with friends for my birthday & selected from the vegetarian/vegan menu lentil & sweet potato cottage pie for £6.99. It came on a huge plate that contained a small jug of gravy, about three tablespoons of peas & the cottage pie itself was in the smallest dish imaginable. When tipped out onto the ‘huge’ plate, it looked like a child’s portion - no more than about five mouthfuls. I think for the price, this was awful & my friends even commented “you haven’t got much have you?” I didn’t make a scene as this was a birthday treat from them & I didn’t want to seem ungrateful. Whether I’d go back to this pub again, I’m not sure. Must say, the staff are lovely though.

Visited with a family member who has special dietary requirements. Staff member, Jessie, was well informed and offered alternatives for foods that were more suitable. Food turned up hot, as ordered and was great value for money. All staff members were lovely and attentive. Will be returning soon. Keep up the great work.

Exceptional value and very helpful staff . However disappointed because they did not have their very good house white . They had also run out of haddock but offered an inferior fish . My mixed grill was also a disappointment as the meat was dry , but they offered salad when I said that I wanted no chips to make it carb free . ( salad was great ) This is a great place for comfortable informal eating . But we ended up drinking lager when we like wine and didn’t enjoy our meals . We have not given up on you , but please rectify our concerns . We like what you normally offer .

Having lived in the area for some 20 years or so I feel I am well placed to leave a considered review.. This is NOT a family friendly pub. There seems to be a competition on who can swear the loudest. Bar staff do nothing about it so that falls down to extremely poor management. If you have children or you are out with your girlfriend or wife please avoid. If you are a knuckle dragged then this is the place for you!Wirral one hundred is close by. More expensive but no foul language.

We don’t eat out often .... but tend to come here when we do, as it’s walking distance and we can have a drink. Staff are great and friendly. We tend to order from the sizzling as it’s always red hot and never disappoints. We tried some items from the new menu and were not disappointed. We had a few vouchers to use and the manager ensured we got the best use from them...£5 off our meal and a free drink. We also have another free drink voucher and free desert so will use them next time. Perfect for us so a big thank you!

We booked a table on mother's Day for a party of 8. We had sizzling meals and enjoyed every part. The staff were very attentive and could not do enough to help. Will definitely been returning again soon.

My daughter took me for lunch on mothering Sunday as a treat. They were not busy and we soon found out why. My daughter's meal looked Asif it had been thrown on the plate,There were no fresh vegetables and even the stuffing balls were cooked from frozen. In fact she said it was the worst meal she'd bacon a long time. My meal was ok as I ordered a different meal. I felt so sorry for here as she was so disappointed . Will not be going again.

I've been visiting the Woodlands Pub regularly for far too many years now, but very infrequently drive. Nipped in for a single drink as the designated driver with my friends late on a Sunday night, and was charged £50 by their draconian parking system for doing so. I was aware of the parking system but last I knew it was only working hours during the week - no one expects to be charged to park at 9pm on a Sunday. Regardless, my bad for not reading the signs properly, even if they are black signs on the walls, with no lighting and in front of car parking spaces. My main issue was the shocking lack of customer service. The gentleman serving at the bar watched us walk in, walk to the bar and served us. We chatted as we ordered our drinks, with me explicitly stating that it was "just the one for me, it's my turn to drive". At no point did he think to mention that I had to put my car registration in their computer system. There were less than 10 people in the entire pub. It was not in any way shape or form busy. Needless to say I will be spending my money in other establishments in the future, as this is the only local pub with such a ridiculous parking system. Would not recommend again.

Came in for a quick lunch with my partner and 7 year old daughter, the pub was very quiet with only a handful of customers so we could hear everything the staff were speaking about.
