Terrible sunday lunch on Father’s Day,small amount of meat, vegetables,Yorkshire puddings and the gravy was like water.we were here before lockdown and had a fabulous Sunday lunch that’s why we returned.what a let down, staff advised us it was new owners.the best place in this area for Sunday lunch is the peacock by far....we will not recommend or return.

We stayed here while we were attending a wedding a few miles away. We received the warmest welcome on our arrival, the man checking us in was lovely and made us feel welcome, and interacted with our 2 young children as well. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and we all had 2 good nights sleep. We had breakfast on each morning of our stay, the team again were very attentive and welcoming. They lose a star on my rating though as the hash brown on both mornings was so unbelievably salty there were clumps of salt residue on my plate; and the scrambled eggs had an unusual unpleasant taste that I was unable to eat it. The continental breakfast was good though. All in all a lovely visit.

It is always a treat to come to this pub where you will receive a warm welcome from Salvatore who is front of the house All the staff are very cherry and very helpful There is a lovely menu with specials every day The food is fantastic and there is an excellent selection of beers wines and spirits There is a dog friendly area and all dogs get a plate full of special treats The toilets are very clean and there is plenty of parking In the immediate facility, there are lots of walks and you can run around the ruins of a Roman fort.

11/10/24 Arrived at 4.10 after a lovely walk. Online said it didn't close until 5pm. Not a friendly welcome, clear that we had disrupted their clean down. We were told we had to sit on a table, out the way in a corner. Terribly made latte and flat white, although tasty cakes. At 4.30 the lights were switched off, which was obviously the que to leave. Extremely rude and poor. This was also my birthday. Will never return being a local northumbrian. We even cleared our plates back to the bench. Disgusting. 13 quid wasted on a bussiness that clearly relies on tourism and non returners.

An absolute gem on the Holy Island! We stopped here to grab a sandwich, some cake, and a drink to take with us as we explored the island. The customer service was excellent, the owner was an absolute delight and super helpful. The food is delicious, and a really good selection too! And on top of all that they sell maps and books of the island as well, it really is a must visit and a one stop shop for everything you need on your island adventures!

We chose Milecastle Inn as a place to hold a family event. It was the perfect place to choose! The pub room was incredibly cosy and the staff could not have been more welcoming. They created a special place for just us which worked incredibly well. The buffet which they provided was very good value for money and extremely tasty. We recommend the pub, staff, atmosphere and food 💯. Thank you everyone at the Milecastle Inn for making our day so special!
