The best restaurants serving British food in North East

Collection order for scampi. Chips. Chicken burger. Food was lovely will be back again most definitely. Have been back propably once a week or twice. Unbelievable its got even better. Staff are very polite. The cod bites are lovely also. A propper chippy.

Pub has a traditional and friendly feel to it. Really nice food and good value. Dog friendly as well. Would recommend.

Food was fantastic and really tasty! Service however wasn't great. When we arrived, we were directed to a table with no menus and no cutlery which wasn't a problem we just asked for them. Menus arrived and after 15 minutes of waiting we asked to order drinks and food together. 10 minutes later, husband's drink arrives but mine doesn't. Waited and waited but no drink so after another 20 minutes I asked for my drink as well as a second drink for him. Also asked again for some cutlery. Waitress apologised but then served my husband his second drink before 5 minutes later serving me my first. So after sitting there for 45 minutes he was onto his second drink before my first drink had even arrived at the table. Drink arrived shortly after followed by the food. However still no cutlery so when she brought my husband's food I asked again for some cutlery and again she apologised but brought it shortly after. The atmosphere was good and yes there were a lot of tables in but the staff just didn't seem very attentive and were either nowhere to be seen or just stood behind the desk chatting and not making sure everything was okay or if anyone needed anything. Everything we needed tonight we had to ask for multiple times apart from paying the bill.

Brilliant good and excellent service

The hospitality we experienced was truly exceptional. The food and drink service stood out as unparalleled in quality. Our entire family, including our dog, felt warmly welcomed. Every dish was freshly prepared using local produce, which added an authentic touch to our delicious dining experience!

Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive, couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely visit again. X

I attended a wedding here and it was beautiful. I was part of the bridal party so was here for a couple of nights and stayed in the farmhouse one night and a courtyard room the next, both where amazing. The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms are beautiful. The food was amazing. All the staff were fabulous, super friendly and really helpful! Highly recommend visiting here

Been to this lovely rural pub today for the Mothers Day Lunch. Thus was our first time here but won't be the last. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Prices very good and the food was Amazing 👏. I have Coeliac disease so need to have a Gluten Free diet and was well catered for. The gf dinner was amazing including the Yorkshire pudding and gravy. FAB THANK YOU XX

Lovely place with some antiques as a bonus. Usually don't choose Italian food but this was definitely one of the best I've tasted.

Staff & food are excellent, worth a visit

This place was recommended to me twice yesterday afternoon, by locals. To have the best fish & chips in town! And it’s true! I had a very big portion of fish with a very nice salad. They do half & half (salad/chips) which is quite interesting;)

Nice friendly staff .clean and tidy..toilets.play area.parking onsite..do dinner time menu as well as main menu..plenty of choices on both menus..do kids menu as well..hot and cold food and drinks..desert tea coffee..all types of alcohol and wine..

Fabulous Place! Great service. Friendly staff. The food is always top quality and portion sizes are huge. Our fav fish kitchen. Quality exceeds.

This pub has gone backover the meals used to be good when the previous owners had it But with a bit more effort by the owners it could improve.
