Fantastic 5* service from Shane with Mean Bean Coffee Company. Drinks and food were amazing - everyone loved them. Really looking forward to working with him again for our future events!
My brother has tried just about every Indian restaurant in the North East of England, and I have been with him to a number of what he considers to be amongst the best - which means they have to be good value too. For comparison, we also like Red Hot in Darlington, Ashoka in Seaham and any of the Mumbai chain (Haswell, Hartlepool etc). We go to Tashan for the FOOD. How lovely to be able to have an Indian meal without feeling guilty - the curries are healthy, not laden with fat, and none of the starters are greasy. I love the authentic street food options such as sweet potato chaat, and there are a number of more unusual "home style" dishes - including Indian desserts. Depending on how hungry you are and what you fancy you can have a very filling four course set meal (good value "early bird" available), just a main course, or you can mix and match starters, street food, even fast food (an Indian veggie style burger in a bun with masala chips is a very tasty alternative to a McDonald's!) The Indian breads are light and crisp. Tashan also serve the best mango lassi I have had anywhere - really smooth and fruity, served by the glass or in a big jug. Don't judge this restaurant by the location - the food is of a very high standard and nicely presented, the service is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere very relaxed (you don't need to dress up!). Currently my favourite Indian restaurant! Tashan deserve 5 stars for service, food and value (TripAdvisor button not working to give this rating).
You get a personal service which is flexible and meets your needs. Everyone is friendly and remembers your name , well behaved dogs are welcome and spoilt. The food is lovely, take out or sit in. Everything has been done to make you feel safe and well fed in these difficult times. I think it is suitable for all types of customer, I do not feel awkward when I am by myself or have my dog.
Lovely girl at the front of it! Even if I was probably the first customer of the day, service was brilliant and quick! God the breakfast bagel and itās absolutely unreal. Defo a new place to go for breakfast from now on, beats Greggs every time.
Was here this morning only had a porridge with Nutella but it was lovely and very filling will definitely go back for lunch as they have a lovely selection of salad and chicken all flavours
Since it is half term i thought id treat the kids to a nice little cafe breakfast.
The girls are really friendly, the cafe is clean and the choice of food on menu is perfect. It is all freshly cooked while you wait, the kids LOVED the little toy corner - the dolls house, kitchen and blackboard are a really nice touch and it kept the kids entertained while they waited.
The wait was small, the kids really enjoyed their milshake and my breakfast was lovely.
A really reasonable bill, fantastic and really kind service.
We will be back after such a wonderful experience

A little hidden gem of an Asian Bakery, near Northumbria University š„
There is probably only 1 or 2 tables for dining in - which makes the experience even more exquisite. It was my very first time here - I remember my cousin recommending me this bakery, saying that this was perhaps one of the best. It's not located in Chinatown - just a little walk away from Northumbria University, and you come across this hidden gem.
The baked goods sold are DELICIOUS. All freshly baked, and sold there and then. Green tea with egg yolk paste pastries, various cakes, swiss rolls of different varieties. I tried a few of them, and enjoyed all of it thoroughly.
If you love Asian Pastries, this will certainly be a highlight.
We went for our usual coffee and toastie today to find that the shop is closing,
I can't believe it, the boys have worked so hard to make a thriving busines, loved
by many. So sad to see it it go, they will be sorely missed, We wish them all the
best going forward, all my best, so sorry we could'nt have said goodbye in person
from Marilyn and Bill ( the cancer treatment lady and her husband ) xxxx
Me and my partner tried today the Bun Kim and Bun Brisket (I believe this one was called like this!) burgers and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly we knew them from very tasty pizzas but the burgers are a different class! š
I have both eaten here and just popped in for a latte . The staff and service are faultless and it is one of my favourite places to visit. Donāt be afraid of going on your own as the staff and the customers are very welcoming and friendly. The food is of the highest standard and the home baking is particularly tasty ,great value for money and a must to visit
Lovely little cafe with very friendly staff. Didnt see vegetarian option on menu but when asked abt veggie breakfast they were very accommodating! It was lovely. Wld call again when in area!
Absolutely love this place. It's literally a minutes walk from me and I visit quite often. All the food is great quality and you cannot argue with their prices. The staff are always so friendly even when I put in my awkward breakfast order! The home made cakes are to die for. Can't recommend this place enough.
