Situated right next to the entrance to Alnwick Castle, this is a real hidden gem. Can't praise it enough. Fabulous decor, friendly and very efficient staff and really nice freshly prepared modern style food. What could be better ? Oh, and a lovely garden view, too.

We were delighted to find this place almost by accident as the entrance is quite discreet.Once inside it is obvious that the owners have not spared on updating and modernising the property as it looks superb. Although we were unsure it would be possible to just have a cup of tea and cake we were welcomed by the receptionist and taken through to where afternoon tea was being served. The dining room/tea salon is located along a corridor at the rear of the property, it is pleasantly decorated in mediterranean blue. The room was almost full with guests taking full afternoon tea and although it looked wonderful we decided on just tea and cake. The room was light and airy and decorated in mediterranean blue. The large rear windows looked out over the rear gardens towards the nearby Alnwick Castle. The walls of the dining room had framed montages of cutlery and numerous blue porcelain was placed along shelves high up on the walls. The cake selection was wonderful so it was quite hard to make a single choice! The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. On departing we enquired about dinner that evening but as expected it was fully booked but they kindly recommended Lilburns in Alnwick - another excellent place to visit.

We arrived for breakfast at 10am Sunday & no sign of life at all. Maybe update your opening times on Tripadvisor. Food could very well be delicious …. We’ll never know 🥺

I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.

What a wonderful place to have a cup of tea! We were visiting the Heritage Centre next door and were taken in by the quirkiness of the idea and decided to have lunch in the carriage. We were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming young man who gave us a few minutes to make our lunch choice. The tea was served in a traditional tea pot in “proper” china tea cups which was just perfect. Our food choices were soup and a cheese scone, ham and cheese sandwich and a sausage and bacon bun, all presented lovely and totally delicious. We were on holiday in the area and wish we live closer as I’d visit all the time. The prices were very reasonable and the service from the staff faultless.

The coffee stop absolutely went above and beyond for a 50th party that I arranged the food was exceptional and everyone off the guests said the same, more than enough food and amazing service I would rate Angela and George 100% if I could I honestly can not thank them enough for making the occasion so special.
