The best restaurants serving British food in North East

Went out for my birthday tea with husband..food excellent and always good sized portions and value for money.. staff and owners polite and courteous and they always interact well with the customers and do what they can to make sure to provide excellent service and an enjoyable experience..by far my favourite place to eat....

Highly recommend, just moved nearby and the lemon slice was amazing. The Fruity scones didn't last too long either with a Soya milk Latte.

Brilliant bar and top night out

I visit this café almost every week, and it never disappoints! The service is always excellent, and the quality is outstanding, all at a very reasonable price. The food is absolutely delicious, and their scones are simply unforgettable – the best you’ll ever try. I highly recommend stopping by this wonderful café; you won’t regret it!

The ice cream melts way too fast and was only okay. The service, on the other hand is really good.

Food, wine and service okay but mediocre at best. Overall would not recommend.

Lovely stop off on the way to an appointment in Peterlee. Good food; friendly, helpful, efficient staff. We stayed over on the side car park in our campervan (phoned beforehand) and it was exceptionally quiet ( & flat for those self levellers !). Worth noting what a lovely village Tudhoe is too. Not somewhere I was aware of before this visit but a lovely spot.

My daughter had her baby shower last Sunday and from start to finish it was a great experience, the room was beautiful, the staff fabulous as was the food and plenty of it, all of the guests agreed, I would definitely recommend for this type of event, thanks so much,

Had a lovely dinner here. We were seated promptly, the food was very tasty and the staff were lovely, especially with my son who talked about them non-stop on the way back to our accommodation. Highly recommend.

Several of my friends and I were camping down the road and booked in, locals we got talking to were lovely, there was a great vibe to the place and the food was fantastic. Food was expensive but warrented the cost with how nice it was, you get what you pay for! Would highly recommend!

This is a village community pub that we visit for three reasons First to help the community. Secondly for the superb food, the home made steak pie is a big favorite. And the third is the friendliness.of staff and customers.
