Dinner required was not on the menu. Homemade chips were not home made just put through a chipper sameas any old chip shop. Service was very slow. Run by kids on minimum wage obviously. Stay away.

This is a review of the Christmas Day lunch. We did not stay at the hotel. Firstly, the entrance and the fabulous building are very beautiful. What an impressive place Guisborough Hall is. We were warmly welcomed, the beautiful lounges were very busy but we found some good seating. At the appointed time we were taken through to a small but lovely dining room, (guests staying had their own large lounge. The serving staff were friendly and even though some had not had much training they gave good service. We were brought some excellent bread, then our starters. The two having trio of melon got a very small portion, the two who ordered the molten Camembert got a much more substantial portion. The Croque Messure (sp!) was very nice but the Camembert was not molten. The main course of Turkey was the worst Christmas meal I have ever had. The plates were cold, the chefs had poured a lot of gravy on the plates which caused some spilling on to the table cloth. The Turkey (from a loaf) was ok but all the meat and vegetables were just warm. This is not acceptable. As for the Christmas pudding. Again everything was only just warm, the pudding had a crust and the brandy sauce didn’t taste of brandy plus there was not much of it! Even the after dinner coffee wasn’t hot. All in all, apart from the building and setting it was a very disappointing and very expensive mistake.

Appalling service... avoid at all costs. I will never return, worst customer service I have ever experienced. No sugar provided on outside tables, no with coffee, I requested some politely and a server told me to get it myself from the back of the cafe, extremely abruptly..this was not practical as I had a 2 year old toddler already sat down eating in the outside area and I couldn't leave him unattended..thankfully, another customer kindly offered to get me some. Perhaps leave sugar on tables or put on side as you serve coffee , this would be much easier for those alone with young children, and perhaps be more polite if people request sugar
