Cafe Refresh in Darlington

From the heart this place offers excellent support for the over 50's in regards to the likes of help and support for benefits etc. However, the cafeteria is not good at all and the beverages are below average. Over priced and worse than school dinner meals.

A decent Sunday lunch for a fair price, we have eaten here on many occasions in the past, and we do recommend it.

Poor customer service line, staff didn't seem very knowledgeable, meals service is very expensive for someone supporting an elderly person

Come on Darlington people support the Age UK it is not just for the "old person" Great scones when the kitchen opens up again.

Good food, service of volunteers & staff is friendly, polite, they are great at helping people if needed, prices are at the going rate. There are lots of group can join in such like friendship group, Sunday t-party, etc which will be great when we can start them again, its a good place to go to meet up with other people. Its a place I am missing, & want to meet up with the friends I have made there. Hope we can see each other soon.

Execellent service for older people

A hidden gem, a great place to go out, meet others and to have a bite to eat.

It's a friendly warm inviting environment ,as we are all of a mixed age we get on. Art session today ,we were drawing in ink ,but if you prefer watercolour ,gouche or pastels there's always someone hand to show you how to do it. There's laptop and computer courses ,you can use tablet or even own phone . Stitches on Thursday is a laugh and a giggle girl talk while you knit see or craft . We all show each other new ideas .

Meals in the cafe geared to older people as you would expect. Keen prices and good service help although sometimes there is a short wait.

Lots of activities for older people. Very friendly volunteers. Excellent Spanish class.

brilliant prices. the staff will chat if you want them too. if you want to eat and not talk then it is an understood rule. very very good food. oh i will so return when i can . thank you to everyone. a meal i so will long remember fort the right reasons.

I am a volunteer there and have met so many lovely people. They're hard workers and the community of both volunteers and participants is wonderful. The Bradbury House building holds many clubs and upstairs is a lovely cafe with great food and hygiene for very low prices compared to mlst places. It's a great place for elderly to go and seek advice or friendship and company. The café also sells a few items like a charity shop would with plenty of books, DVDs and jewelry most often. So if you see something you like you can buy it while enjoying your tea. It's also good to keep an eye out for when they stock up on seasonal items. It's often really cheap and sells out quickly. Also, forgot to put that the café does wonderful Sunday lunches and often deliver.

Rubbish, clearly says on website last delivery 14:30, wasted time on the menu and ordering only for it to be rejected. Hungry.

Just wanted to leave a comment about the food, honestly one of the best Sunday dinners I've had,piping hot and all the trimmings, I missed the door the first time but he came back with the dinner which I appreciate. So the meal and the gentleman who delivered it very high standards and complements to the chef with definitely be back!!

Had a Sunday dinner and it was lovely will definitely be ordering again, and they’ve even thought about vegetarians 😀

A lovely friendly atmosphere, you are made to feel welcome no matter what you have come here to do. It offers a range of things for people of all ages, we use a couple of the onsite facilities and we always get great customer service. They have a lovely cafe with homemade meals at a fantastic price, there is something for everybody's budget. They also cater for families who are needing a little extra support with family members who are suffering from things like dementia etc.. or have had a stroke, with different groups to join like music, art, games and lunch clubs, or you can just come and have a chat. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

Bargain hunters will never be disappointed should they explore meticulously the well-stocked racks and rails.

Attended The Autumn Years Club which is always very well attended and worthwhile. Only problem was with a room full of woman they all had to speak louder than the other and consequently it was very loud so with people that have hearing problems it was excruciating which is a pity otherwise it could be very enjoyable 😕

Lots going on here for older people and others. Absolutely fantastic facilities, lovely food in cafe and super friendly people.

Age UK is a good friendly place, where there is a place to go, plenty of groups to join, get good advice, a friendly chat & nice food.

Very well informed staff....can arrange nearly everything for the over 50......all advice is given freely .....

If they can't help you, they'll find someone who can.
