We pre-booked a table in conjunction with staying a couple of nights at The Bosk in their B&B accommodation (which is very good and subject to a separate listing on TA). The restaurant is not always open so best to check ahead rather than turn up in anticipation and be disappointed - they hold private functions for example. It’s in a rural setting and their car park is at the opposite end of the village to the school. The restaurant has 3 bedrooms above and the owners also operate 12 self catering cottages in the village and 3 glamping pods nearby so they have prospective diners on their doorstep. This is a very contemporary looking building set in a pleasant garden and although it’s upmarket in style it’s a fairly casual dining experience. Staff were local and friendly. Aside from the garden there is a small seating area indoors near the bar for pre-meal drinks. The menu was not huge (about 6 starters, 10 mains and 4 desserts at our visit) but there is a reasonable selection. We placed our order for drinks at the bar - a G&T for my wife (£7.25) and a glass of wine for myself from the bottle which I requested for the table. Drinks delivered we’d had a chance to look over the menu and both asked for a starter of Garlic & Chilli King Prawns on toasted sourdough (£9.50) and mains of a Sirloin and a Ribeye steak respectively. The steaks were served with a mushroom, tomato and seasoned fries along with our choice of Doddington Darling Blue Cheese sauce. At the time we hadn’t realised that, as part of a deal, the two steaks, sauce and a bottle of wine were offered at £50 and that is what we were ultimately charged. The starters were tasty and although the steaks possibly weren’t quite as good as we get back home, the mains were nevertheless enjoyable. There were quite a few diners and consequently a good ambiance about the place. We ordered Sticky Toffee Pudding and a White Chocolate, Strawberry & Vanilla Meringue for dessert (£7 each) and these were good as expected. After retiring to the bar area my wife had another G&T and I ordered an amaretto on ice (£6) to round off the evening. Having heard that the bar would be out of bounds to us due to a private function the following night, we ordered another bottle of wine for a nightcap and to take to our room - staff having thoughtfully provided a cooler. On this occasion it was only a short walk to our accommodation directly upstairs. Overall a very nice meal with food at £83 and drinks at £43 including our wine for the second evening. The breakfast served in the restaurant on both mornings was of a very high standard. The choice was extensive with cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit pots followed by hot dishes made to order. All the food was of very good quality, nicely prepared and presented and served with a friendly member of staff happy to have a chat about our outings and make suggestions of things to see in the area.

We booked The Bosk last minute for a family Sunday lunch. The location was stunning, but what I really want to praise is their gluten free Sunday lunch. My daughter has been unable to eat gluten for 10+ years and for her, the gluten free option usually involves restaurants just omitting items that she can't eat. The Sunday lunch at The Bosk was outstanding, her lunch looked exactly the same as ours, she was given huge Yorkshire puddings and we were all able to share the cauliflower cheese which was again outstanding (she was the first to finish!) I would recommend The Bosk for regular Sunday lunch but even more so for the effort that they put into the gf option. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the North East and hope to try the pizzas next time. Thank you 😊

Beautiful restaurant, friendly helpful service and absolutely delicious Sunday lunch. Very good quality beef, well cooked, with huge Yorkshire puddings and loads of delicious veg. Very generous portions. The staff are attentive and pleasant and looked after us very well. The restaurant is child-friendly with with a kids menu including an £8 deal for a child’s portion of roast dinner and a scoop of ice-cream for dessert. We all enjoyed our very tasty lunch and will definitely go again.

This is a lovely venue to eat in. It’s a beautiful restaurant. Sadly I think we came when the kitchen staff were really overwhelmed and had run out of at least 3 items on their menu by 6.30pm. The waitress was so lovely about it and kept apologising profusely for the various issues. Such a shame because there are so many good reviews on here.

We were staying at a campsite 15 minutes walk away from The Bosk. What an unexpected surprise, the food was fantastic, the service was great and the value was incredible. We had pre-dinner drinks, starters, the steak deal (2 steak dinners, and a bottle of nice wine) and shared a lovely pudding for £89! I would absolutely come back here!

Recently visited for the main menu on Easter Saturday Night and I was not disappointed by any means. The only downfall was that it was just such a shame hearing others in the restaurant belittle and be rude to the staff. I don’t like doing these reviews as I come from a hospitality background and I’m not a fan of review sites but after reading reviews for The Bosk, I feel like some readers will benefit from this due to one of the below reviews. The food and the staff here are AMAZING. We dealt mainly with ( can’t quite remember her name but she said she was new) for the night and she was attentive, friendly and very helpful. The other staff who had stopped by our table were nothing but polite and charming - even when one of my friends joked that they had a complaint. The food was exceptional - piping hot, extremely well presented and tasted even better than it looked. When we arrived we were a little disappointed that the meat platter wasn’t the same as what was on the Instagram reel I saw but once I asked or server about it, they explained that the reel was filmed a while ago and that they update the menu seasonally so it was a little different. And they apologised (which they didn’t have to - that’s not their fault). Once everything was explained to us we still went ahead and ordered and I am so glad we did because it was better than described on the reel. To the girl that wrote the review below (I think it was a 3 star review) you are the reason I have wrote this. I was on the table behind you and the way you acted was embarrassing for others around you. If I was your server that night, I would have asked you to leave because the poor staff couldn’t do anything right by you yet, when a member of staff (light brown/blonde hair) asked your table if everything was ok, you waved your hand to dismiss her and said “I suppose it’s fine”. In my eyes, this place is a hidden gem along with its staff. You do have to book in advance as it tends to book up quite quickly. I cannot wait to return and book a nights stay.

This place is fantastic! My wife and I were looking for somewhere different to our normal go to spots and came across this place online. The location is out in the countryside and is a beautiful place, inside the restaurant has a great feel to it, with the tables well spaced with loads of room, and not feeling crowded in like some places can, in a room of people yet far enough a part you can feel a hint of privacy at your table. Now onto the food and my god it did not disappoint! My wife and I took in the meat lovers sharing platter and it was absolutely delicious! All items on the platter were well made with amazing flavours and nicely presented on the board. We have already said we will return to sample other items from the menu as from what we could see everything looks fantastic. We can’t wait to come back for our next meal.

Me and my partner visited the bosk for our anniversary meal and the service from start to finish was amazing and the food was exceptional. We ordered the smoked haddock and pea fish cakes and wild mushroom crostini to start. The mushroom dish was the nicest we’ve ever had, such a shame we live so far away and they were both presented in a gorgeous manner. Our mains were also served of the same quality and tasted divine. The halloumi fries are a must have too! - overall such a lovely dining experience and atmosphere, the staff were incredible and we can’t wait to return in the future :)

Absolutely wonderful meal at The Bosk and service was brilliant. Me and my husband visited after seeing a really good review on tik tok and we weren’t disappointed. We opted for the king prawn and chorizo crostini and black pudding scotch egg to start. Both came presented beautifully and I must say probably the nicest king prawn starter I’ve had. Then we both went for the steak and wine deal. The steaks were massive and not the 8oz they were advertised at so weren’t disappointed. Steaks were cooked perfect and we both had a choice of sauce with them. I will say if you like halloumi get the halloumi fries, they were unreal!!!! Will certainly be back to this treasured find!!!

We booked a table on Wednesday for two, the meal and atmosphere was good and at a fair price. We read that Friday was pizza night so we were really looking forward to the last night of our holiday with a nice pizza and a bottle of wine. We looked and the website said open for pizza 3pm till 10pm so thinking we didn't need to book for a pizza and drinks we got dressed up and walked the mile from the caravan club site looking forward to a nice evening sat out side in the lovely weather. We arrived to find the venue closed to all apart from a wedding party. Finding this hard to believe we had the embarrassment of walking through the party to the bar to be told they were closed and didn't even offer us a drink to sit outside with. We were left to walk away out of the back door then passed the wedding party for the second time before walking the mile back to the caravan site to cook our own dinner as there is no where else to go near by. I appreciate that if we had tried to book it would have said closed but it should be clear on you website without going in to actually book a table. I am glad that you can make enough money just opening when you like a few days a week but I remember when a local pub or restaurant opened everyday to serve the local community and for people like us that visit and bring money to the local area. What a disapointing and embarrassing night. I will be posting this review on the Caravan and Motorhome Club Web site to avoid others experiencing the same disappointment.

After a day cycling around Kielder Water we stopped off here on our way back to Warkworth. It takes a bit of finding but it is absolutely worth it. The venue is very cool and the staff are excellent. I had prawns for started and the 'Boss' Burger for main and they were lovely, possibly the best burger I've ever had. My partner had fish and chips and she said the batter was so crispy and light. Incidently, the fries come with a seasoning on them which is really good and very moorish. We both just had a bit of high quality ice cream to finish. It's also worth noting the prices are also very good e.g. they do a 10oz fillet steak for £32, this is £50 in an equivalent nice place in Essex. The whole place felt very well run and the kitchen seemed to operate like a well oiled machnine, no one was waiting, all the food was hot and fresh. Definitely worth the journey.

We only discovered The Bosk as we were staying in one of the privately owned cottages by the Breamish Valley Cottages site - what a bonus! We had the pleasure of enjoying 3 meals provided by the fabulous chefs at The Bosk, all 3 under different circumstances: Night 1 - we arrived on a Friday (Pizza Night) with no knowledge of the restaurant even being there, so there were no tables available - but the chef was able to take our order for takeaway pizza - all four were absolutely delicious, highly recommended. Night 2 was our actual intended meal out in the restaurant - absolutely beautiful food and excellent, very friendly and attentive service, thank you! As a family of four we shared the Seafood/Fish platter and also the Steak Deal offer - our 12yr old daughter LOVED her sirloin steak - never seen her devour anything so fast! Night 3 - Thank you so much to both the lovely lady at the bar and to the head chef too for helping us out in a bit of an emergency. You were clearly very, very busy, the restaurant was full - but my husband had fallen that afternoon and had dislocated and broken his elbow, so we spent much of the day in A&E at Cramlington - our plans for fish and chips on the beach was no longer an option. I think I came into the restaurant around 7.45 to see if you could fit us in, just for a quick something to eat - as we had nothing in the cottage (due to going home the morning after) - you were clearly full - but were so kind and helpful, and were able to do us a couple of takeaway meals for us to eat in our cottage. This was incredibly helpful after what had been an upsetting and worrying day. Please send our massive thanks to all of your staff, in particular the lovely lady at the bar and the head chef. Thank you!!!

Went back Friday night for Pizza night and they were excellent too. Cooked in outside wood fired pizza oven by the same chef. He also cooks amazing pizza.
