We had a toastie, crab sandwich and a coffee and it was freshly made with fresh quality ingredients and absolutely delicious! Watching them cater patiently for all requests (no butter, extra pickle etc) is admirable and at peak times, as long as you are prepared to wait a short time, you won’t be disappointed.

Popped in on the way too holy island for a couple of coffees ..this place makes you queue too be seated . After we were seated we ordered 2 coffees , many people came in after us and had been given food and drinks , while 30 min later nothing . We asked 3 members of staff where they were ? They seem too float around , not listening as we had no explanation of where they were . After 35 min we left . I had a brief chat with the manager who blamed me for popping too the loo !! Very odd . Lovely place , but wouldn’t return again

An absolute gem on the Holy Island! We stopped here to grab a sandwich, some cake, and a drink to take with us as we explored the island. The customer service was excellent, the owner was an absolute delight and super helpful. The food is delicious, and a really good selection too! And on top of all that they sell maps and books of the island as well, it really is a must visit and a one stop shop for everything you need on your island adventures!

Only ate in the bar - Food was good, and there was good service. However for pub food, it was quite expensive.

Gorgeous little tearoom with plenty of outside seating in a lovely garden setting and views of the very pretty little village of Etal. Excellent choice of sandwiches, panini, jackets and quiche style lunches, all very reasonably priced. Also a choice of cakes and cream teas, we chose the latter. Beautifully light plain scone (choice of plain or fruit) good amount of clotted cream and strawberry jam and lovely pot of tea. All the food being served looked lovely, friendly and accommodating staff, great place for couples and families alike. Highly recommend. The village store inside is also a great place to pick up some local treats.

Called in for lunch not realising we needed to book but there was 1 table for 2 available thank goodness. It was very busy and the staff were working very hard but were still friendly. We had Mince and dumplings with mash and it was delicious. It was a lovely change to have something old fashioned and homely. We'll be back to try the breakfasts next time.

This was our second stay at Island View, and once again, Simon and Sarah did not disappoint. Our group of nine was in town for an event, and their hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. Simon and Sarah's welcoming nature made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-appointed, providing a perfect retreat after a busy day. The attention to detail and personalised service truly set Island View apart. Whether it was accommodating special requests or providing helpful local tips, nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you, Simon and Sarah, for another fantastic stay. We look forward to our next visit! Until the next time...

What an unwelcoming, miserable place. We stopped en route to Berwick but it was so grim looking we had a change of heart before even getting out the car and drove off. Later that day on the way home we were desperate for a cup of tea and having read the reviews which said it's not as bad as it looks, we decided to give the place a try. We arrived at 3.35pm having checked the website and Google for opening times. Both said open until 5pm. We walked into the shop, not a soul to be seen but voices from the back could be heard. We coughed , said hello a couple of times but no one came out. We walked through to the next room adjacent to the door into the tearoom. All in darkness. But I spotted a lady through the window of the door into the kitchen and she spotted me but didn't move. She was too busy talking to her colleague. She looked at me 3 times before finally coming out and when I asked if we could get a cup of tea she said they'd stopped serving at 3.30pm. It was 3.40 at this point. All we wanted was a cuppa. Appalling service, not a smile or an apology in sight. And no information online with café opening times. Businesses like this don't deserve to be in business.

Had an excellent Sunday lunch here yesterday. The choice was excellent, beautifully cooked beef and accompaniments. My son had fish which he also said was very tasty. Lovely staff, nothing too much trouble, even had a treat for the dog. Will definitely go back.

Popped in on spec before going to the Lindisfarne festival and I was very happy with the food and service. The burger tasted homemade, super tasty and delicious. The homemade chips tasted really nice ( with skins on) and the side salad was super fresh, and beautifully dressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely meal!
