The Barn at Beal in Northumberland

Seamless booking and check in for a motorhome pitch. Bar, cafe and restaurant were all available and enjoyed food with a warm welcome. However the disparity between the male and female showers was stark. Gents were not clean, no evidence of being maintained and compared to the newly built female block, was a tricky pill to swallow. I’m sure there are plans afoot to upgrade the male block but they were really poor this weekend and un-hygienic.

Limited menu if you are looking for a snack. Over priced for what was provided, and the 'posh chips' were anything but posh - just chips with cheese and garlic.

Absolutely stunning view from our motorhome spot on the campsite. Watched the sun set and then rise again on a beautiful morning. Easy access to Holy Island. Lovely coffee and cake in the restaurant/coffee shop. Great new ladies shower facilities as well. We will definitely return.

Stopped by after passing it on the way to Holy Island the previous day. So glad we did, beautiful barn conversion with fantastic views, even on a damp day. We ordered a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks and everything was delicious with excellent service.

Superb motorhome, caravan and camping site, with onsite bar and restaurant- the Sunday roast is gorgeous, the night before we had scallops and fish and chips in the bar and it was all very friendly and enjoyable. All the staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful We will definitely return here for holidays. Thankyou

We had a fabulous meal. We met as a family to celebrate a special birthday. Everyone was made very welcome, including our accompanying three year old Labrador !! The food was exceptionally good. Most had fish and chips, with the lightest most delicious batter. The other exceptional meal was a Cauliflower Bahji - just delicious. The restaurant is roomy and quiet. We were met by an extremely friendly member of staff who looked after us magnificently throughout the evening. Including presenting a birthday cake, which we had bought with us, to our party celebrating the birthday. Lovely evening, thank you. Oh and the Holy Island Pink Gin was delicious too!

We enjoyed a first rate meal here on a very wet, miserable Saturday in February. We were warmly welcomed and the waitress kindly seated us next to the fire. The menu isn't extensive - a choice of 3-4 per course - but the food was absolutely delicious and I would recommend a visit here. Service was good and friendly. We will be back!

The campsite is very good with level pitches and good toilet and showers but the pub closes far too early, once food service is complete drink up and leave!!!

My husband and I called here on our way back from a very cold visit to Holy Island. A warm welcome from the waitress and quickly shown to a table with a beautiful view. A variety of options on the menu. We had a fruit scone with jam and cream, cheese on toast, coffee and a pot of tea. All delicious and promptly served. The place was very quiet when we were there and I would image it does get very busy during the bank holidays and summer season etc. Well worth a visit

Coffee was good, service was ok if a little slow and lacked a little leadership, food was ok, soup was tasty, been numerous times over the years but hadn’t been for a good few months as was disappointed previously. Stunning venue which could be better.

Nice big space, good service and dog friendly. More breakfast options would have been ideal but what came was good and tasty with good ingredients. Sure the standard breakfast would do most and sure they would have added extras if we had asked but dad and the teen could have eaten two each it was that good. V quiet when we arrived (quite early on NYE) but we drove over to holy island and it looked really busy on the way back, good for them.

Called in for lunch with my husband and our dog. There was a disgruntled couple in the queue before us complaining that they weren’t being seated quick enough. I don’t know what they were moaning about! We were quickly seated and served by a pleasant young man and the food was lovely. Good coffee too. All in all a good value lunch, very tasty and hard working staff. Thank you.

Called here for lunch after visiting Holy Island. Staff were welcoming and attentive despite it being a Saturday afternoon and very busy. The food was delicious and reasonably priced considering its location. Dog friendly also, would recommend if in area.

Called in because the causeway was closed. Three of us had coffee/tea and three cheese scones. Scones were under baked and stodgy. They had no cheese in the mixture only on the top. We weren't impressed. You got 2 stars because the view was outstanding!

We stopped for a late lunch on our way back from Holy island as we were looking for somewhere that catered for Gluten free. Lots of good options made with quality local ingredients. A little pricey but the food was delicious and we would go back again. A bit of a wait for a table but a lovely atmosphere and it would be a beautiful setting sat outside in the summer.
