Exceptional breakfasts and brilliant staff. We have been coming here for take away rolls and cakes for a few months now and it is always second to none. The variation of cakes and tray bakes is excellent too.

Great food and service. Very busy. Had to wait for a table. Outside seating available but was wet when we were there. Baked potato with salad was a hit!

I will start with saying the food was good but unfortunately the service was shocking there was only 2 tables in when we arrived 2 of which already had food and there was 3 staff out front and yet we still was sat for about 15 minutes before we was even acknowledge. And when we got are food there was one table sat down and after 10 minutes of nobody going to that table they got up and walked out. Now I know there is sometimes a wait when it's busy but there was only every about 5 tables in at once.

Excellent. Really nice food, family and dog friendly. Happy, helpful staff. Make sure you're hungry; the meals are very generous (doggy boxes are available).

I have visited several times when down at Berwick Upon Tweed and will continue to do so. The breakfast options are good but I think best value is option 2 which consists of 2 sausages,2 bacon, hash brown, potato scone,fried egg, haggis,black pudding, mushroom then a choice of beans or tinned tomatoes with toast and tea or coffee all for £9.50 which is great value as all ingredients are of a high quality. When we went back outside we visited their traybake van and bought chocolate brownie bombs to take home and what a surprise to bite in and find a crème egg in the centre .. delicious. If visiting be there for opening as place fills within 10 minutes and you could wait a while for a table.

Very tasty and filling breakfast, amazing value! We travel 30 miles just to eat here and we have never been disappointed.

We ordered the Option 2 breakfast consisting of Tea & Toast (plus 4 extra slices) for two of us. The quality was Excellent with a capital 'E'! Sausages, Bacon, Mushrooms, Eggs, Beans, Hash Browns, Stotties, Black Pudding and Haggis!! and all for a tenner each. They also sell excellent Brownies. On top of that, the staff are friendly and helpful and the Café is spotless with clean toilets.

Have driven past this unassuming cafe loads of times, it's a bit off the beaten track but decided to try it for breakfast today. Its table service and the friendly server came to take our order. We ordered the medium full English which came with toast, tea or coffee and orange juice. It was a huge plateful! Piping hot and everything was really tasty and good quality especially the haggis. It soon filled up and people were sitting at the outside tables even though it was raining. It was so busy the staff were rushed off their feet and there was a bit of a queue waiting to pay but it was well worth it and we'll definitely go again.

Popped in to Go Outdoors and saw this cafe next door, thought we'd give it a go for lunch and was not disappointed. Jalapeno Ciabatta with bacon and brie - enough for 2!! Sour dough toast with avacado, poached eggs and bacon Great food, will be back

We were staying nearby and had breakfast here 2 out of 3 nights. Really good with great menu. Staff were engaging and efficient. All in all excellent.

Great food great service would definitely recommend dined here every morning for my stay and look forward to return polite and even though very busy every thing was clean and tidy well done girls

Called in on a Tuesday lunch. My wife and I both had the pulled pork sandwiches. Got to say that were absolutely lovely. The staff were very friendly and the service prompt. Will definitely be back.

Have heard so many lovely reports about this cafe. Called there yesterday for morning coffee with friends. Worst cuppa I’ve ever had like a cup of hot milk.

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat after visiting Holy Island as it was 10/15 minutes away. Dog friendly 5* and amazing toasties served with crisps and salad and amazing tasting cakes too. Was very busy, but service again was 5*, and we will definitely be visiting again.

Visited for breakfast, husband and I had the medium full breakfast, small would have done, wow massive portions, all beautifully cooked, piping hot, with hot toast, also bought cakes for the evening, which were to fabulous. Lovely friendly staff, clean and comfortable, definitely recommend

We were told of this little gem by our B and B hostess and we are really glad she did, We could see when we arrived the choice was great. We looked at the fabulous savouries and cakes but settled for the fruit and cheese scone . They were so so tasty, Go to the top of the class. When we left we also bought cakes as they looked irresistible. We will definitely return when next in the area.

Our 3rd visit here, and another breakfast. We love the food here, but the coffee has had issues on all 3 visits, it's cold. Your wide open cups make the coffee cold very quickly, and each time we have had to ask for more milk,...

Little out of town but a great stop when heading out for the day - equally worth the journey for. We like detouring via Marshall's for some take-away bakes which are always amazing!!

The food here is amazing, the staff are all very friendly and efficient and despite the fact it's a busy cafe the service is spot on. Make sure you are hungry when you visit and you won't be when you leave!

Went twice on our stay in Berwick as it was so good, wouldn’t actually bother with any other café in Berwick as this is the place to go, amazing service, lovely food, polite nice staff… cakes looked amazing but we couldn’t eat anymore! Top tip...

Really enjoyable lunch! The menu was varied and everything we had was delicious and well presented. The staff were friendly and the place seemed clean. The cake selection was amazing. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Staying in a local AirBnb. Always come here for food. Absolutely delicious and a great menu. Would recommend to anyone. Plus the dog is welcome too. Outside seating only at the moment due to covid but still great take away service

We weren’t expecting anything special here other than a roadside cafe (just needed a coffee break on a long journey) and were astounded to find a bustling place with almost every table crammed with customers! Whilst we were there dozens of people came and went, enjoying breakfasts, lunches and a good range of sensibly-priced snacks and wonderful-looking cakes. There was friendly table service and outdoor seating - so much more than just a roadside cafe!!

Decided to try this cafe after reading tripadvisor reviews. The cafe was busy at 10am, we managed to get the last table. We all ordered the breakfast, which came with toast and coffee. Good quality and delicious sausages, bacon, black pudding and haggis. The breakfast was very filling and well cooked. I would advise booking a table to avoid disappointment this seems to be a popular place, the variety of cakes in the chiller looked excellent but we were to full to try. Good service from polite staff. We will definately be back to try a cake next time were over at go outdoors.

We have had our friends here on holiday ,went to have lunch ,the food was 1st class ,service i must say we have never seen girls working as hard as these lady’s do ,our friends where so happy with food and service ,they plan to take us back before they go home ,any one in the area please take time to call and have a meal ,loads of parking ,also you have a go outdoors next door

popped in for some lunch & the restaurant was very busy.I had a Philli burger with chips & salad, The bun, the burger, the cheese & the sauce were all amazingly good. My partner had Mac& cheese which was also good. Two decent coffees & some delicious but not diet froendly tray bakes to take away. Al lof this along with some great friendly service earns Cafe @ Mashalls an excellent rating.

Wow brilliant portions in here but brace yourself you will not be able to leave without cake. Quiche was bacon, cranberry & wensleydale what a combination. Staff are really friendly too.

A very friendly and comfortable eating place. We felt it was value for money, and will deffo go bk when we are in the area again.

Sunday lunch for our family of seven. A special occasion and a special lunch. A choice of chicken, beef, or lamb, or any combination as meat choice. Served promptly and piping hot, accompanied with roast and mashed potatoes, turnip, calabrese, carrots and copious amounts of delicious gravy. The star of the show was the Yorkshire pudding, that of super taste and monster size. A tour de force indeed. This served by a cheerful young lady who added wit and helpfulness to the event. The lunch was such that we could not manage a dessert, so we settled for coffees all round. The meal was delicious, plentiful and flavoursome. The meats were all succulent and in abundance. Every member of our party was very complimentary of the fayre. This all at a very fair price. Great food, great service. We look forward to our return. Highly commended.

Having been frequent customers at Marshall's we have just, for the first time, walked out!! This cafe used to be so good - good food, good waitresses, good customer service, clean tables & decent toilets. Oh dear, what has happened?? There were only 5 tables occupied, so they were hardly busy, yet the place was full of uncleared & dirty tables, the floor was covered in debris & the waitresses seemed to think they were on holiday. We waited & we waited & waited some more - being the very patient couple we are, yet nobody came to take an order. Then, when a waitress eventually picked up a pad & pen, she went straight to a table whose occupants had just walked in & sat down. Exasperated, we thought enough was enough & we walked out. You have just lost our regular custom!!!!

Saw this cafe as we passed one day and looked at reviews on Trip Advisor so decided to give it a try. What a find we had the Sunday lunch we asked for lamb by they were running short of lamb so we had a mixture of lamb and chicken. It was amazing .Five different veg plus roast and mashed potatoes and the biggest Yorkshire pud I have ever seen. You could not fault it. Amazing. Big portions and very good value for money. Staff were amazing and friendly. Deffo going back there well done.

Marshalls café was recommended to us by a friend who uses the café regularly.. while on holiday my husband and I visited marshalls to have lunch there. the café staff were all lovely, helpful and polite . service was really good even when it was really busy ,, nothing was too much trouble ,, food was excellent , tasty and hot.. well done to the ladies who work there ... will def go again..

How lovely to have a dog friendly cafe not far to travel to. They have all day breakfasts, toasties jacket potatoes and a special board each day.

The premises are usually quite busy, with a rapid turnover in Customers. There is ample parking. On approach the premises look like any roadside cafe.

We visited today with our two young children age 3&4 the lovely girl who served us was amazing with our boys and got them some toys and colouring.

This place is good value for money. Portions are a good size as are the cakes. Coffee was ok. The place is clean and busy.

Great Cafe/Restaurant serving delicious home cooked meals and home baking. Homemade lentil soup was lovely on a cold day, ample potion sizes for everyone and excellent value for money. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

After doing some spring cleaning I couldn't be bothered making lunch so we decided to come here for a light lunch as we hadn't been in some time. We had lovely rolls with sausage ( 3 sausages on each roll) and hubby had a mug of coffee while I had a pot of tea. The rolls were delicious and very filling as you can imagine. Lovely tea and coffee also. They had some lovely looking cakes and scones but we were too full to try any. The cafe was really busy and it was nice to see that they allowed well behaved dogs inside. Will be back next time I'm too lazy to make lunch ( and that will definitely be before next spring clean).

Called in to the cafe next to Go Outdoors just off the A1 at Scremerston south of Berwick whilst shopping at the Go Outdoors ..next door.

After hearing a lot about this Café for several years but never having the time to call in we made a point of going today on the way back from a shopping trip. From the amount of people already eating when you walk in, you can tell it is a popular place. Customers ranged from mums and babies, oaps, friends out for lunch and several workmen calling in for takeaways. We both ordered an all day breakfast (not the belly buster)!! and were amazed at the amount you got for £6.60 that included a hot drink and toast. Food was piping hot and excellently cooked. Only slight thing I could say is I would have liked an extra slice of toast, but that's just nit picking. Staff were great, all young, friendly and efficient. Now we have made the time, will definitely be back, as Ive heard the Sunday Lunches are spectacular.

Wow, what a find. Cracking food. We had the steak pie with a cheese and ham panini, both with a generous serving of the best chip shop chips outside a chip shop! Amazing service from the waitresses. A must stop for travelling up the A1!

Had a lovely breakfast here, food was great and the service was impeccable. The lady that served us made our daughter’s day by chatting away with her, and brought out colouring pencils etc once she had finished her meal which meant we got to finish ours in peace too! Great find!

This was by word of mouth by my in-laws who said we just have to take you to Marshalls what a lovely surprise to discover good homemade tasty food good sized portions infact lunch there was superb with a lovely ambiance and very good service if you are in the Berwick area and want to go somewhere of quality for breakfast/lunch /dinner I so recommend this lovely café.

We were recommended this little place by our daughter who suggested that if we fancied a nice breakfast we should give Marshalls a try . So we did and wasn't disappointed. The breakfast arrived on hot plates with everything from haggis to hash browns and was delicious. The staff were polite and friendly and managed to serve all six of us at the same time. Well done Marshalls . It was great.

We still love our breakfasts and Sunday lunches (best in Berwick) but today we had their burgers. Wow!! And that is putting it mild. The burgers are locally made and I have never tasted a burger as good, no matter the price. Like my last review, the girls that work there are alway friendly and helpful. If you have not been yet, you don’t know what you are missing out on.

If you are hungry get yourself along here. A decent plate of food here. All home cooked and very fresh. The cakes are just tremendous and worth a visit alone just for that. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

We've just been on holiday to Northumberland and had a trip to Berwick....which was FULL!! Decided to leave and spotted this cafe on the way out of Berwick. What a lovely surprise, pleasant atmosphere, lovely waiting staff and delicious food. I would highly recommend stopping here.

After a shop around go outdoors we were looking somewhere for a light lunch so called into this little café. My quiche was of a high quality and the staff very helpful. Finished off with some irresistible cheesecake- will definitely return!

Visited for breakfast whilst staying in nearby Scremerston. Despite it being a busy Sunday morning and the cafe being almost full the service was pleasant and quick with a smile and a laugh. The food was quick and plentiful and the price excellent.Would recommend.

Stopped in on a a Thursday afternoon for lunch , there were 5 adults and a two year old boy. The staff were very attentive letting us push two tables together. My friend and I had the salad and I have to say it was the nicest salad I have e really had out , it was made by a lovely waitress called Ellis. We also had a tray bake afterwards which was amazing would highly recommend this cafe for sure .

We visit here regularly me, my husband and our 18 month old. My son is a fan of the haggis. We have had a range of items from the menu and can't fault any of it. The cakes are to die for! Would reccomened booking to avoid disappointment as sometimes it's busy.

Stopped for a snack after a visit to Go Outdoors. Lovely little cafe clean warm and friendly staff. Good quality coffee and great selection of food and bakery . The Cheese scones are quite large and very tasty Recommend

When you want a lazy Sunday this is the place to go fab home cooked meal! Just need to wash the plate and take it back! Prob next Sunday and get another one ....

As a fairly regular customer I've sampled everything from a ham toastie to more substantial meals. The food offers excellent value for money allied to very friendly and cheery staff this cafe is well worth a visit.

Good grub in decent portions at decent prices. Friendly service. I'd rather eat here than anywhere else in Berwick.

I am a local to Berwick and I always thought that this cafe looked more like a transport cafe with greasy food. I Could not have been more wrong. This is our regular place to eat now. The girls that serve you are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast will keep you going all day. Quality bacon, sausage etc. I love the haggis you can get with a breakfast. We have just had a Christmas turkey baguette with stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. That was fantastic. The only thing you have to remember when you go is that they only take cash. I am looking forward to my next meal there already.

What a lovely little find this was. A great menu at a very reasonable price. Even better to find that dogs can go in too. My husband had the mega breakfast which was massive!

Went in for a late breakfast after a walk with the dogs on nearby beach, staff were very welcoming (to the dogs too!) and customer service was brilliant! I opted for a Bacon and Sausage bap which was incredible, and I have barely eaten anything else all day! I also had the Hot Chocolate Supreme, which, as a hot chocolate connoisseur, was one of the best I've ever had for toppings! We took some sweet treats home with us for later, and I had the KitKat and caramel traybake which was beautiful! Haven't been able to finish all of my portion yet as I am still full from the incredible breakfast! We are already planning our next visit before we head back down south! Thank you so much to the brilliant staff!

Stopped for breakfast on our way home. The breakfast (option 2) was cooked lovely and not greasy and inexpensive it came with 2 bacon, 2 sausage, beans or tomatoes, hash brown, potato scone, black pudding, haggis, egg and mushrooms, toast and tea or coffee. A perfect breakfast before our trip back to West Yorkshire.Well worth the stop.

We live local we have used this 3 times in 3 weeks this a well run cafe with some of the best staff we have come across in a long time , the food is very good well priced ,and cooked on the spot , If your looking in the area please give it try ,it is next to go outdoors ,One thing if going sat or sun phone and book table as this is a well known cafe , we like so much we are going one day a week for lunch ,as being retired couple suits us down tio the ground

Great food, all homemade, amazing value for money and all served with a smile from really friendly staff. We stopped off for a coffee / breakfast enroute to a canoeing and wild camping expedition and came back the next day for lunch - caked in mud. we were given a warm welcome and they all wanted to know what it was like, they all took time out to talk to the customers even when the place was packed
