Stopped in for breakfast on the way to do a walk at Kielder. Loved the place. Fantastic , well cooked , quality breakfast. Decent size and good value at £10.50 including toast and a brew. Couldn’t fault the food. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Ticked all the boxes for us. Dog friendly. Liked Falstone so much did a walk from there instead of Kielder and came back to the Old School for dessert. Bread and Butter pudding with cream or custard ! Although I was tempted by the Old School sponge. Thank you for a lovely experience

Almost missed this. It’s on the corner in falaf one village. The sign said “old village school”. But it is actually the falstone tea room. Small but clean and tidy inside. Not a vast menu but there is choice. Ordered earl grey tea with soya. Hubby had black coffee. Ordered veggie breakfast and veggie sausage sandwich on brown bread. Drinks came quickly and food not long after. Lovely tasty sausages and brekky was tasty and fresh. Not massive portions but enough. They have a small selection of goods ie sauces kitchen rolls toothpaste tea bags etc. also sell locally made craft items which were very lovely to look at. Sauces on table. Table service. Not huge amount of tables but wasn’t overly busy Monday morning. Very friendly customers !!! Not too expensive and really enjoyed it. Wud definitely visit again if in area

And still no cream for my husbands scone so asked again with a roll of the eyes the young lady went away and another 5 mins later came back with the cream. There are 2 parts to the building, the old school house part and a newer and smaller entrance area where you can seat and keep an eye on your bike if you at all worried. The staff are friendly and service quick. There is an extensive menu but I usually end up with a bacon and brie sandwich. All the food I've seen come out of the kitchen looks good. Falstone is in a lovely setting just south of the dam on Kielder Water. The tea room also offers a lot of local tourist information in the way of maps and leaflets and also sells postcards/crafty things. There is free Wi-Fi.

Called in at Falstone Old School whilst holidaying in the area. Excellent food well prepared and well presented by friendly staff. Some pretty circular walks that start and finish right outside the door. To say the staff are dog friendly is an understatement. Our Poodle was fed and watered before us. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Whenever we are in the area we visit this tea room, and check the emails too while we eat!The light meals are lovely, the food is home cooked, and I usually have my favorite carrot cake while whenever we are there. You can also purchase locally produced crafty things while you are there, and postcards and maps etc - and there is also an information centre for the local area.In winter it is nice and warm, kept so by a wood burning boiler - all set up to be environmentally friendly.

We were recommended to visit this tea-room, by a local. The food served is home made, and they even sell home made jams etc. There are all sorts of local crafty things to buy as well, while you sup your tea or coffee or other drink. The meals are lovely, and for me I always have some carrot cake, it is delicious. My husband prefers the home made scones! We always pay the tea room a visit when we are in the area, and it is great to check your emails while you eat, for free.

An absolute gem on the Holy Island! We stopped here to grab a sandwich, some cake, and a drink to take with us as we explored the island. The customer service was excellent, the owner was an absolute delight and super helpful. The food is delicious, and a really good selection too! And on top of all that they sell maps and books of the island as well, it really is a must visit and a one stop shop for everything you need on your island adventures!

Fantastic!! Service, food and value, 6 of us all had different meals. All served together piping hot, huge quantities and absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't manage a pudding but they looked fabulous too.

I don't know what I was expecting from this pub/hotel. My expecting were wode open as for my liking the pricing was on the lower end that I would pay to stay somewhere. However this place was outstanding value for money my room was spacious with a great large shower and many modern features. The room was exceptionally clean and well presented. The bed was do soft and made it so hard forme to get up or what to get up. I had food in the pub as thought to myself that maybe I had just got lucky with the room however once again the small cosy pub with it log fire was great. The food was brilliant well presented and tasted amazing. I honestly would definitely recommend and go back to the blue bell all in all it was a 10 out of 10 for me.
