Gorgeous little tearoom with plenty of outside seating in a lovely garden setting and views of the very pretty little village of Etal. Excellent choice of sandwiches, panini, jackets and quiche style lunches, all very reasonably priced. Also a choice of cakes and cream teas, we chose the latter. Beautifully light plain scone (choice of plain or fruit) good amount of clotted cream and strawberry jam and lovely pot of tea. All the food being served looked lovely, friendly and accommodating staff, great place for couples and families alike. Highly recommend. The village store inside is also a great place to pick up some local treats.

Great value, very friendly staff. Excellent morning out. Well done Lavender Bee tea room.

i was a bit dubious about trying the tearoom's signature lavender cake for the first time - on Bake Off they always say it's easy to overdo lavender - but it was amazing! Light, fluffy and served slightly warm with the apricot jam melting into it. The in-house baker certainly knows what he's doing! The tearoom staff were friendly and helpful too, dressed up for Halloween on this occasion!

there is some lovely walking in the area including Flodden Field. We came for a refreshment break, one of us needed gluten free and they have one of the better bought-in ranges here. I had a singing Hinny which was enormous, but warm and delicious with butter. (other people around also had cream and jam on it). Its a lovely garden but we had to carry everything in when the rain started. Also a well-stocked shop and post office inside.

This is a very hard working Tea Room. It has a varied menu and the Singin' Hinnie "T" was brilliant, a scone with a big difference. The service is quick and polite, the product delightful and staff is always clearing and cleaning as soon as patrons leave. To cap this off the prices were very reasonable. Very customer orientated.

3 of us on Sat 8th July sat outside on a beautiful sunny day about 12 noon. This place is a little heaven and so clean and the staff are helpful. This place of off the scale and I mean wonderful and if you are in the area, pop in. I have only scored 4/5 because, I chose the cream tea with their wonderful scones which were warmed before serving. HOWEVER, the scone was warmed in the microwave which turn an otherwise lovely scone into a spongy mush and NOT very nice. A few places tend to do this and if only they could see the difference it makes when eating, they would warm in an oven or just leave it as it is. I know this sounds picky, BUT, it does make a ruin an otherwise good scone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, no more soggy microwave scones. They rest of our food was delicious.

This is one of those places where you arrive thinking you just need a place to grab a drink and a piece of cake or something to nibble and you'll be done. However I have to give extra credit to Lavender Tea Rooms and the owners, this place was spotlessly clean, well laid out, everything was displayed clearly and everything looked very inviting. It might sound strange, but I must also mention the toilets. They were kept really clean and unlike 99% of places they were actually a pleasure to use (?!). The staff were all really pleasant and I certainly got the feeling that everyone was trying to make sure that they were delivering the best possible service they could. For me this is a treat of a place and I wish I was able to go every day, but seeing as I can't, I would recommend that you give it a try when you're in this neck of the woods. Totally recommended.

We knew that dogs were not welcome only in the garden, so we visited with this in mind, the owner came out as it was cold and invited me and my dog and another gent and his dog to come inside. I thought that was very kind, until my 80 year old mum arrived with her dog... in the meantime the other gent and his dog had left... however as my mum got to the door the owner ran over to the door, put his hand up and said “No more dogs”... he was so unnecessarily rude to my mum and my partner... I get that dogs are restricted but wow! If your gonna bend the rules for some, then bend the rules for all, especially on the cold and windy day that it was... we simple left unamused by his rudeness. Apparently he has a talent for rudeness.. we went to the tearoom the other end of the track and found them quiet the opposite friendly, accommodating and welcoming. We spend over £50 and was very grateful for there hospitality and great food.

Beautifully presented, a lovely little cafe perfect to visit if using Hatherslaw Light Railway. Local produce also available for purchase and friendly staff.

In the picturesque village of Etal lies this lovely tearoom. It serves the usual menu, toasties, paninis, teacakes and jacket potatoes but everything is so nicely presented and the homemade coleslaw is lovely. It didn't take long for our food to be served and the child's lunchbox in the form of a cardboard racing car went down well.

Not always an easy task, finding somewhere to meet the demands of three generations, one of whom is gluten intolerant and another avoiding carbs. This little gem in the tiny village of Etal, hit all our buttons. My grandson loved the child’s lunch box served in a cardboard car. My gluten intolerant son thought his toasted gluten free bacon and Brie sandwich was delicious and my salad was tasty too! A hit all round.

We've just been to the Greggs at Marygate and we were served by the most lovely, welcoming and experienced staff ever, Anne went far and beyond what could ever have anticipated and we will certainly be back again and again. Cheers for great time at Greggs ❤️

Played today, Mon 26th August, Great layout, but sadly the greens are diseased and awful, and the tee boxes are terrible, very expensive bar, and no food being served, even though there was a competition on, and the bar was busy, Sadly one to miss in the future.

We visited Hexham yesterday and found this café in the Market Place, after a lovely River Tyne walk. It was quite busy at 1pm but we didn't have to wait long for our table. The girls made us feel very welcome and worked so hard while we were there clearing tables and getting everyone seated as soon as possible. My husband had a bacon sarnie and I had a ham and mushroom omelette which was so light and fluffy, delicious. Coffees were great too. Plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. Doggy friendly too with a treat for pooch 🐾

What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.
